- Daniel S.July 2024PositiveEverything top clean, nice campsite staff, very good Miele washing machine & dryer.NegativThe campsite is one of the somewhat "stiffer" ones of its kind and the quiet times are, shall we say, 'definitely' pointed out. This is rather problematic with two very lively children. On the other hand, the site should be ideal for people looking for peace and quiet, perhaps with very quiet children themselves.Very well-kept campsite but rather unsuitable for very lively childrenI would recommend the campsite to anyone who likes it really quiet. If, on the other hand, you don't want to keep your children quiet all the time (especially during quiet time), you should go somewhere else. We still liked it and didn't find anything bad. Just different sensitivities, but that's normal.Automatisk oversat.
- Amaya S.July 2024PositiveThe lake with beach Free toilets The surrounding area is great for cyclingNegativThe site has an old playground with no shade. Otherwise nothing for children, teenagers or adults, except for a kiosk and there is a pizzeria. (relatively expensive) WLAN only in the entrance area. As a permanent camper you have to pay a relatively high price. Nothing is renewed properly. Showers cost 1 euro, for just under 4 minutes, if the information is correct at all, and little water pressure.Beautiful lake simple campsiteSuitable for vacationers who just want a quiet place and want to relax, cycle, swim....
Not child-friendly!!!Automatisk oversat. - Anika H.September 2023PositivePlots, nice operatorsNegativTOILETS!!!, shower tokens, directionsNice place with nice operators with compromisesFirst of all, best wishes to the nice operators! We spent a long weekend on the site and were positively, but unfortunately also negatively surprised by some things!
First of all, the complicated access (which of course is not the site's fault). The access road is currently being rebuilt and this leads... to a very complicated and stressful approach. Of course, the operator can't help it and it's only temporary, but the vacation feeling still had to suffer. The pitch (luxury pitch) is superbly equipped and has everything you need. So plus point for that!
However, the sanitary building is not at all good. Okay, it's old and no longer new, but it's not in good condition either! Toilet seats broken, hairdryer broken, sink broken. I also didn't see a cleaner in the 5 days on site, which was reflected in the cleanliness. The mosquito infestation in the building (the operator can't really do anything about this either) made going to the toilet a ghost train ride and we can't understand the positive comments about the toilets!
Another negative thing we noticed were the prices in the restaurant. I have to say that we didn't eat there because of the prices, so I can't give an opinion on the price-performance ratio, but I think offering a pizza on a campsite for 10-15 euros is too expensive.
Due to the time of year we couldn't use the leisure activities on site and therefore couldn't rate them, but these are certainly a big plus point for the campsite.
In conclusion, I would say that we won't be coming back, but only because there are thousands of other beautiful places and I can only recommend the campsite to a limited extent due to the condition of the sanitary building!Automatisk oversat. - Jürgen H.June 2023PositiveServices Leisure facilities Very well-kept site Value for moneyNegativNo disadvantagesHighly recommendedPitch is very well maintained and in good condition. Sanitary facilities are top and clean. Very friendly owners/staff. Bread rolls and a few snacks are available in the kiosk. Lake is right next door. Plenty of opportunities for dogs to run around. Good opportunities for cycling. Supermarkets within 3 km. I really can't think of anything negative.Automatisk oversat.
- Frank B.May 2023PositiveLocation, tranquillity, friendliness, facilitiesNegativWaste disposal, shower tokensBeautiful, small square in the middle of the local recreation areaI used the campsite for a business trip to Wolfsburg. The weather was wonderful and I didn't feel like staying in a business hotel, so I went to the campsite. In short: I'll do the same on my next visit.
The site is located on the banks of the Tankumsee, a really beautiful local recreation area. There... are separate meadows for tents and a small area for tourists, but the vast majority are permanent campers. However, this is hardly noticeable and is not a problem anyway, but the clever layout makes the site appear much smaller and cozier than you would expect. Even the wash house seems too small at first compared to the number of pitches, but then it fits. Everything is sufficiently clean and not overly laid out. For me, it's a pretty good mix of natural and modern. There is a satellite TV connection on every pitch (although the signal strength is quite moderate), a small store with bread rolls, an Italian restaurant right on the pitch and the lake on the doorstep where you can find all kinds of water sports as well as several places to eat.
The friendliness of the staff, including the restaurant, is great. Only the fact that you still have to buy shower tokens and the unsightly and rather littered disposal area are a bit annoying. OK, the waste disposal is certainly also partly the responsibility of the campers themselves, but here it definitely looked as if the waste disposal company would like to visit more often. And a corner that is primarily about garbage doesn't necessarily have to look like it.
No animation, no fancy-pants - just camping. As I said: I'll be back :-).Automatisk oversat. - Angela W.June 2020PositiveQuiet location Lake (directly opposite the campsite) Nice place also for short campers Clean sanitary facilities FriendlinessNegativCould not find any disadvantagesBeautiful placeBeautiful campsite. We would love to come back again.
Not far from Celle (beautiful old town)Automatisk oversat. - Nils Z.August 2019PositiveBeautiful location by the lake Many leisure activities PlaygroundNegativNarrow access road and somewhat congestedNice place at a fair priceI'm a native of the area and used the campsite with my family to visit friends and relatives for 4 days. We should be familiar with both the Tankumsee and the campsite. However, this was the first time we had visited the site. The welcome was very friendly. As is so often the case, I didn't have any... cash with me, as it's not possible to pay by EC card here, but that wasn't a problem. I was allowed to arrive first and can get cash in peace and pay on departure. There is also a small store at the front of the reception, where you can get fresh bread rolls in the morning and the little ones can also get an ice cream here. It is better to order the bread rolls in advance so that you can be sure of getting everything you want. Right behind the kiosk is a new Italian restaurant. The pizza we had was really good. Of course, you can also sit down here and eat on the spot. There is a playground for the little ones. Which caters to many children's tastes. We didn't even get around to setting up, so our youngest had already disappeared on the swings. The equipment is a bit older, but it is solid and safe. That's the most important thing here. There are also plenty of them. The site seems to be mainly occupied by permanent campers, but they tend to keep to themselves in the upper area. The tourists share several pitches in the lower area. These were laid out as a traffic circle and parceled out. Lots of greenery with small hedges and shrubs. We really liked it. Electricity and cable TV are available at the pitches. You can still bring your own water and waste water and dispose of it yourself. The wash house is no longer the newest. But it was clean (at least I can only judge the men's area). The showers were big enough, for three minutes you can get a token for 0,50EUR. Unused tokens can simply be "sold" back on departure. A lot has happened at Tankumsee in recent years. The entire site is well maintained and nicely laid out. There is a dog bathing area directly opposite the campsite and a fishing area in the other direction. Further down there is a beautiful sandy beach, which is also suitable for the little ones. The walk around the lake is about 6.5 km. Cyclists can enjoy the many cycle paths in the area. Wolfsburg and Gifhorn can be reached in a few minutes by car or just a little longer by bike. There is no WLAN on site. - However, this is no longer a selection criterion for us. We have been taking our own internet with us for a long time. However, reception could be a little more difficult here. The price is fair. We stayed here for 19.50 EUR for two adults and one child per night. Showers cost 0.50 EUR for 3 minutes. All in all, we were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the site is. We will certainly be repeat offenders.Automatisk oversat.
- Di G.March 2019PositiveFriendly / clean / quiet / many possibilities at the lake in summerNegativThere are many areas on the lake where dogs are prohibitedHighly recommended, always happy to returnOn the last weekend in March 2019 we were with our caravan on the very nice campsite. Our granddaughter (2.5 years), our dog and my wife + me liked it very much. The reception was very friendly and informative. Our pitch was very large. More than 100 square meters were available to us on a fresh, level... lawn. The pitch had connections for Schuko and CEE plugs plus a TV connection. Small trees showed where the pitch boundary was. The sanitary facilities were clean and tidy, and sufficiently warm and heated. The nearby children's playground is a bit outdated and could do with some renovation, but our granddaughter liked it. The newly opened restaurant offers Italian/German cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere at normal, acceptable prices. The fact that we only wanted to arrive on Sunday at 3pm was not a problem. We were particularly impressed by the friendly offer to borrow a handcart. We gladly accepted the offer and put something in the coffee box. All in all, a highly recommended campsite, which is characterized by permanent campers, but surprisingly this was not at all negative. For € 23.50 for the 3 of us, including dog and electricity plus shower tokens, it was an absolutely reasonable price. We'll be back here soon for a relaxing camping holiday!Automatisk oversat.
- Sascha F.June 2018PositiveTop infrastructureNegativNot ideal for campers and travelers passing throughRather for permanent campers or longer staysAn extremely professionally run site, but aimed more at permanent campers and longer-stay mobilists. Rather cool reception as often experienced on such large sites. The tent pitches are small and rather loveless in the midst of the permanent campers. The very strict site rules are always strictly enforced... by rather unfriendly permanent campers. All in all, not for nature-loving campers with a need for freedom. Very extensive and clean sanitary facilities, but showers cost extra despite the high prices for staying here. Great Italian restaurant on site, the small shopping program in the kiosk is also good and well stocked. The surrounding area is great, a beautiful bathing lake with a small sandy beach and sunbathing lawns, mini golf course, water bike rental, playgrounds. The campsite has a rather loveless little playground in the blazing sun. Very close by, the Elbe side canal invites you to go on cycling tours without having to climb.
Conclusion: Great for longer stays in a large tent, motorhome or caravan, real tent campers should look elsewhere.Automatisk oversat. - Martin N.May 2018PositiveWell maintained facilityRepeat offendersWe have been to the campsite several times and can only recommend it. Very well-kept site, nice operators. Ideal for cycling tours to GF and WOB, or just along the canal. Have been here several times. Very well maintained siteAutomatisk oversat.
- Jürgen P.April 2017PositiveClean sanitary facilities, nice playground for children up to 12 years.Good campsite. Very permanent campersWe were there for a meeting. We liked everything very much. The only thing that wasn't so great was that soccer was always being played on the playground, which meant that the ball banged into cars and caravans on the tourist pitches from time to time. Nice operators, we felt comfortable.Automatisk oversat.
- Berthold B.April 2017PositiveCleanliness ,FriendlinessNegativNoneSuper campsiteWere only 4 days here, the reception was super friendly, just as you could pick up your rolls in the morning, the sanitary facilities were very clean and well maintained, like the entire facility, too bad that the restaurant / restaurant was not yet open, the new owner was still setting up, but that... was also in the homepage. In just a few minutes you can get to the very nearby Tankumsee, where you can go fishing, swimming, pedal boating or have a small snack at the restaurant at the bathing establishment. All in all we were VERY SATISFIED, we will be back.Automatisk oversat.
- Dirk B.September 2016PositiveWell-kept, quiet, good gastronomy on siteNegativOnly a few tourist pitches (permanent campers prefer to keep to themselves), reservation advisableGladly againWe stayed at the campsite at the beginning of September 2016. As soon as we arrived, we were a bit taken aback to see that there was another pair of barriers in front of the actual entrance to the campsite (in addition to the barriers to the site itself). So we parked our camper van in front of it and... walked to check-in. Check-in was friendly and quick, and for a deposit of €25 you get a key and chip card for both barriers. The campsite is huge, but there are only 25-30 tourist pitches in a separate area right at the beginning. Even at the beginning of September, the site was very busy, so I recommend reserving a pitch in advance. The pitches are large enough for caravans, awnings and cars. Each pitch has its own electricity and cable connection and water is available nearby. The site is also very well maintained, the pitches are very level (no chocks required) and the grass on the pitches is nice and short. The trees provide plenty of shade, but not too much. The sanitary building is easy to reach. The facilities are modern and are kept clean. You can get coins for the showers at check-in (€0.50 for 3 minutes of hot water). The site has a bread roll service, but we didn't use it. There are shops in the surrounding villages and towns. The food at the campsite is very good, especially the pizza is great. The prices for food and drinks are also quite reasonable. The surrounding towns such as Wolfsburg, Braunschweig and Gifhorn can be reached quickly from the site. However, you should stick very closely to the speed limit, as the speed limit on many roads is 70 km/h and there are a lot of speed cameras. Conclusion: Highly recommended for a stay in the Braunschweig/Wolfsburg region.Automatisk oversat.
- Michael + Silke W.March 2016PositiveProximity to Wolfsburg, good infrastructureNegativSeen as a dog owner: no dog beach, no disposal facilities for poop bags.Beautiful place with a lot around itWe liked the site very much because of its location. It's not far to Wolfsburg (Autostadt) and you have the lake right in front of you. The tenants are very friendly and really look after their guests. Everything is very clean and well-kept.Automatisk oversat.
- Dennis B.July 2015PositivePure relaxation, child-friendly, very well maintainedThe first timeHello community. First time at this campsite. Spent a weekend there in a tent. The peace and quiet at night was not always strictly adhered to, but this is common on all campsites throughout Europe. However, if you decide to pitch a tent, you have to expect this. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities... was excellent. They were completely cleaned on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The green areas are well maintained. It is about 50m from the campsite to the beach. The beach consists of fine sand. There are also no algae or stones in the water, but a fine sandy bottom. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Around the beach there are several restaurants and leisure activities for children and adults, e.g. mini golf, pedal boat, scooter track for children. There is also a barbecue area right next to the tent meadow. Barbecues are provided there by the site operator. It is also a very good opportunity to socialize with other campers. We are already looking forward to coming back next year.Automatisk oversat.
- Dieter C.April 2015PositivePeace and quiet, friendly staff, cleanliness, lake with lakeside walking and cycling path, waterfront restaurants, wide bathing beaches, close to the Autostadt WolfsburgNegativGrocery store not near the square, but a little further away (approx. 5 minutes by car)Peace and beautiful surroundings (lake, forest)We have visited this rather small site with 40 tourist pitches several times and are always impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the peace and quiet, the exemplary sanitary facilities and the beautiful surroundings (lake, forest) as well as the easy accessibility of tourist destinations (e.g.... Autostadt Wolfsburg, Mühlenmuseum Gifhorn). The immediate and wider surroundings of the campsite are particularly suitable for cyclists due to the flat terrain.Automatisk oversat.
- Volkmar S.April 2014Positivecheap, not too big, nice surroundings, clean and well-keptNegativChildren's playgrounds should be made more attractivefriendly and clean place in the style of the 70sYou receive a very friendly welcome here. The site is very clean and so are the sanitary facilities. The restaurant has new tenants from April 1st of this year, so they are still in the process of setting up, but are trying very hard. The food is great! Our conclusion: A nice, relatively small site without many frills.Automatisk oversat.
- Wolfgang K.July 2013PositiveGood bathing facilities with restaurants nearbyNegativNot really suitable for dog owners Sanitary facilities not always clean No shopping facilities on site (except bread rolls)General impression: good averageAverage pitch with some deficits. Sanitary facilities quite new but not always clean. Place advertises with the lake and dog friendliness - however, the lake does not belong to the campsite and is not suitable for dog owners (dogs are not even allowed near the lake).Automatisk oversat.
- Jessica M.July 2013We looked at the place based on the reviews on this site. We have 3 small children under 6 years old. I gave the 1 star for the playground. Otherwise I would definitely not travel here with small children. On the 1st morning we were told by the receptionist in a very inappropriate tone that we were not... alone on the site and should think about whether other guests might not want to sleep in. It was 8.15 a.m. and the children were riding around on their balance bikes in front of our awning. Before that, they were kept busy in the caravan and awning. The manner was totally customer-unfriendly and inappropriate. Apparently they are not dependent on the occupancy of the tourist pitches. The lake is about a 10 minute walk away. Apart from that, the surrounding area doesn't offer much in the way of leisure activities. At first glance a very nice place, but after the experience not recommended.Automatisk oversat.
