We received a very friendly welcome and were able to choose our pitch. The sanitary facilities were very, very clean and adequate.
There is a large playground for children. The fur noses find enough run on the very well-kept place. Great hiking trails directly... from the site. Heidenheim is perfect for a stroll through the town with lots of stores. Gliding airfield next door does not disturb.

The sanitary facilities are remarkably well maintained and very clean. The site is very quiet, the airport next to it doesn't disturb at all, as there is hardly any air traffic... (glider airport with towing operations).
The operators are extremely friendly and always ready to help.

Everything was very unobtrusive. The sanitary facilities are not the most modern, but they are spotlessly clean and that is worth much more to us. For water/waste water you have to walk a little further than the... edge of your own pitch, but that's exactly why we felt reminded of camping in the good old days, when you didn't expect the luxury ambience of a 5-star hotel when you went camping. And it was still sooo nice. It certainly wasn't the last time we stayed at the Amalienhof campsite. Because this area around Bartholomä is very scenic and entices you to go on many tours.Automatisk oversat.

This is quite understandable, as the climate is really pleasantly dry and always one or two "coats cooler" than in the scorching hot valley locations... due to the location on the karst plateau of the Ostalb.
The fact that the site is a little outdated has advantages and disadvantages. One advantage is definitely the park-like tree population, under which you can set up camp as a camper. The disadvantage is that the infrastructure is of course no longer the latest and quite basic. This didn't bother me as it is kept spotlessly clean.
This brings us to the next big plus point of this campsite - the couple who run it, Heike and Frank, who not only write hospitality in capital letters, but also really live it!
You feel welcome despite the corona restrictions, which were implemented easily and quietly on arrival in the campsite's own "test center" installed outside.

We were the only vacationers. Some permanent campers were still there. The place made a quiet impression in winter, but I think in summer you will hear a lot from the neighboring sports airfield. The sanitary facilities were fine. We visited... a good restaurant outside the site in Wental. The site is quite far away from the highway. That's why we probably won't be back.
