- Kai B.June 2024PositiveThe landscape is impressive, Hooksiel has fine little stores. Galley now better positioned.NegativThe camping site is getting more and more expensive and nothing is being invested! Despite multiple promises! For teenagers zero offers, they are bored!More and more expensive, but nothing is investedThe campsite is unfortunately getting more and more expensive, nothing is being invested! Wash houses are probably under monument protection! There is absolutely nothing on offer for young people! They are just bored! It's sad, even though we've asked several times! We were always told we were there, but unfortunately the campsite operator can't help it if the thumbs always go down from above! Stars should be withdrawn!Automatisk oversat.
- Tina M.May 2024Positive- large plots - fresh bread rolls every morning - several sanitary facilities - easy check-in - no check-out necessary - electricity and water included - Restaurant and mini-kiosk - Bicycles that can be rented via app - Good starting point for excursionsNegativNone for me.Large plots, easy online bookingWe booked spontaneously online in the evening. You can choose your pitch. Even the guest cards came directly online. The pitches are large with water and electricity connections. There are also pitches with nudist or dog areas. The beach is further away, but we knew that thanks to Google. There are many... sanitary facilities, which sometimes had two or three sheets of toilet paper or dirt on the floor in the evening. But the actual toilets were always in order. Renting the bikes via app was easy, the bikes were fine. I was pleasantly surprised (but you have to be early here). The bread rolls are fresh, some bread and cake is also offered.Automatisk oversat.
- Ivana S.March 2024PositiveNorth Sea right on the doorstepNegativThere is no investment. The toilets were never clean, in the other wash house the ladies showers and toilets were broken. The paths to the wash house were covered in mud. And for that as much money as 4-5 star campsites? Not getting any betterCampsite gets more expensive every year. This year we paid the same for four nights as we did three years ago for 8 nights. Sure, inflation and all that. But you can still do a little something as an operator. Maybe just change the toilet lids at the start of the season, renew the pitch signage or something... similar. People here just rely on the fact that people will come anyway. But unfortunately only because of the sea. The playground is always closed. But despite the fact that something is always not working, the full price is taken. We'd better not talk about the W-LAN. As a dog owner, you're just a leper on this site. In the past you could at least rent pitch 2 with a dog. Then you also had water and waste water connections. For three years now, you can only stay on pitch 1 without these connections. If nothing changes, we won't be going to the German North Sea in the near future. In the Netherlands, dogs and children are equally welcome, it's clean there and you at least get something on the pitches. They are also a lot cheaper and friendlier. As I said, we've been coming to this campsite for about 8 years. This year it was just enough for us. What a pity!Automatisk oversat.
- Arne G.May 2023PositiveLocation; arrival and departure uncomplicated and "contactless" possible.NegativNumber of sanitary blocks; only one small kiosk on the siteNorth Sea campingNice campsite in front of the dyke, which has over 100 pitches, but doesn't feel like a "caravan park" due to the size of the pitches and the layout.
Without exception, I met nice and helpful fellow campers there.Automatisk oversat. - Nico T.May 2023Positive-Nice reception -Sanitary facilities easily accessible from all pitches -Bakery on the pitch -bikes for hire on siteNegativ-slightly confusing pitch specifications -The local bird group likes to scream at times when you are still sleeping, but this cannot be held against the campsite.Very nice long Whitsun weekendWe will definitely be back to explore the small neighboring towns from here.Automatisk oversat.
- hartmut h.May 2022PositiveVery clean sanitary, quiet. seasonal campers are open-minded and helpfulNegativNudist beach approx. 2.5 km and textile beach 3.5 to 5 km away.Beautiful, well-managed campsite with separate naturist sectionWe were on the naturist part of the campsite and spent 22 quiet and entertaining days there. Boules for everyone at 11:30 am on weekends, also for beginners. Balls can be provided on request. For those who prefer a quiet game, there is bingo every Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday evenings you can also dance the night away in the campers' barn with a nice beer.Automatisk oversat. - Werner Z.August 2021PositiveNice staff, happy to help youNegativOnly the bakery was already sold out at 9 amBeautifully maintained placeNice place, the Parcelle was big enough for us. For swimming, however, you have to go a bit away from the placeAutomatisk oversat.
- Marcel K.June 2021PositiveSmooth process at the reception and booking program top.NegativThe sanitary facilities totally dilapidated. Cold water in the men's shower but everywhere. I changed the shower, same result. The hooks for hanging up clothes were partially or completely missing. Buildings from the 70s but it felt like nothing was ever done to them. At the bakery you apparently have to queue for an hour in the morning if you want bread rolls, you get hungry while waiting in line. The crowning glory, however, was the disposal station for the motorhomes. It was so small that there was no way to get over the drainage gully. Whether forwards or backwards, as if someone had built it and didn't know the NORMAL dimensions of motorhomes (mine is 5.50m). On some roads it was just muddy, because the roads are only partially paved. The result just looks horrible.A real shameWe actually wanted to stay longer than a day but when you already know that you can only take a cold shower in the evening you just don't feel like it.
The staff tries hard to keep everything running, but with such a large number of vacationers who want to earn money, you have to invest and not build a new sanitary building, but also bring the others up to date.Automatisk oversat. - hartmut L.May 2021PositiveClean and tidy sanitary buildingNegativGarbage disposal unfortunately only at the reception (barrier) about 800m walk.Beautiful, quiet naturist area at the Hooksiel campsiteThis year is our 4th time at this naturist campsite and our first time as seasonal campers. We feel comfortable here, find peace and relaxation. On Saturdays there is a disco in the campers' barn at moderate prices. On the naturist part, boules is offered for everyone at the weekend, even balls can be... provided. Bingo is also played on Saturdays. The surrounding area invites you to go on extensive cycling tours, many roads offer separate cycle paths. The water ski facility also has its own special charm, for those who like it active and for others to linger and watch. The beach is unfortunately a little further away, about 2.5 km to the nudist beach and about 3.5 km to 5 km to the textile bathing area. There is also a dog beach for nudists and textile bathers. Something special is the barrel sauna on the nudist beach at very reasonable prices (this year 25€ for 2 hours and 2 persons). All we can say about the textile area of the campsite is that it is too crowded. It was quicker to get bread rolls in the morning by bike in the village than to queue on the site. The staff are friendly and helpful.Automatisk oversat.
- rainer k.October 2020PositiveSanitary building, surroundings, size of pitchesNegativThat you are only allowed to enter at 4 pm although the booked space is freeWe stood on the pitch on the east duneA great pitch with large plots. Direct view of the North Sea. Large and always clean sanitary building. Friendly staff . Great paths with dogs or for cycling. Everything is great except that you have to stand in front of the barrier until 4 pm even if the booked pitch is free.Automatisk oversat.
- Sven H.August 2020PositiveCleanliness, friendliness, nudist areaNegativToo few garbage cans, No beach accessGreat placeIt was our first time in the naturist area.
Found a well-organized camping site there.
Super friendly staff at the registration desk. If you had a problem you could always contact them and they helped you as quickly as possible.
The sanitary facilities were always clean.
So we will definitely be back...Automatisk oversat. - Max D.August 2020PositiveLocated directly on the Wadden SeaNegativA bit far to the nearest beach.Goes like this...Naj. Quite a long wait in extreme temperatures (approx. 30 degrees) at registration. An awning or a tent for those waiting would be appropriate! Despite the usual rush, there was only one person at the counter.
Take extremely accurate with the time of the place occupation. Although we were already... there at 11am and checked in after an hour, we were not allowed on our booked pitch (although it had been free for days) before 3pm. What are you doing? This is the first campsite that handles it like this! Dear operators, many arrivals are on the road for a very long time, let your guests arrive earlier and don't torture them in the overcrowded parking lot without electricity. The parking lot was overcrowded with arriving guests.
Friendliness is also not a strength of the campsite/staff. There are no recommendations for excursions. Neither from the staff nor in the form of any brochures or anything else.
Bookings can only be made online, even if you are already on site. You get the feeling that nobody wants to be there for you. Is this the corona scare?
At least the sanitary facilities were clean.
But not everything is negative. You can cycle very well from the campsite. There is a cycle path in every direction. The surroundings are also beautiful.Automatisk oversat. - Nicole S.June 2020PositiveNone recognizableNegativWere there from 24.06.2020-26.06.2020. Very large CP with many permanent campers. Long distance to the beach. Outdated and not clean sanitary area. Waste disposal is outside the CP. No information about excursion possibilities. Few services and little interest of the staff in the customers.False promises according to the InternetNot recommended.
Definitely won't be back.
For dog owners an absurdity, due to the many prohibitions.
Very loyal not corresponding to the services offered.Automatisk oversat. - Alexandra K.May 2020PositiveIt was very quietNegativOld sanitary facilities, no beachThere are better places on the North SeaI've never seen so many prohibition signs as on and near the campsite. Moving around there with a dog is a real challenge!
On the beach right next to the campsite, it's almost impossible to settle down with a blanket - it's a real natural beach.
The store at the campsite wasn't open yet, the nearest shopping facilities were about 3 km away.
Next time, we set our sights on the nearby motorhome port. It's closer to a sandy beach and cheaper.Automatisk oversat. - hartmut h.May 2020PositiveLarge, spacious sanitary facilities, well maintained and clean. Sufficiently large pitches and well-separated naturist areaNegativThe reservation can only be made with a credit card or PayPal, but not with a normal bank transfer from a current account.12 beautiful days at the North Sea at the naturist campsite HooksielWe felt very comfortable on this very quiet campsite. The naturist bathing area has the typical disadvantages of the East Frisian North Sea coast, but is well equipped with the bistro and sanitary facilities. The beach chairs can only be booked for a week or longer during the Corona period, but they are cheap. We will be back again.Automatisk oversat.
- Jörg-Dieter L.May 2020PositiveClean and sufficient sanitary facilities. Simple but large, easily accessible pitches.NegativOutdated power supply Difficult to access fresh water and waste water disposal site, especially for large motorhomes / caravans.Hooksiel campsite largely outdatedMost of the pitches have a completely outdated power supply. Although 16A is stated, this is not true, as 5 parking spaces share the 16A. Much worse is that only 198V to 208V is available at many of these socket columns. In Germany, 230V is prescribed. This undervoltage leads to damage to the caravan... electronics. This also applies to the switchover board of Dometic refrigerators.
The operation of these columns is actually not permitted.
The only fresh water and waste water disposal point is also difficult to access, especially for large motorhomes/caravans. This leads to hour-long traffic jams on main departure days.Automatisk oversat. - Jens S.May 2020PositiveWe were on the naturist part. The site was clean and very quiet right in front of the dyke by the sea. The pitches are big enough. Sanitary clean, but avoided because of Corona.NegativNo control on nudist compliance, many apparently booked the nudist part because the normal place was fully booked. The site was very carelessly laid out without any separation or division in the form of bushes or shrubs. Everyone builds their own windbreak in the form of plastic. (but so do some other places in the region). The beach has to be reached by bike, as it is about 2km away and public.Mass processing without charm but maximum throughputas listed in pros and cons. Relatively loveless, with over 700 seats, all in a row. Only the bare essentials were maintained and very functional.
Approx. 10 minutes' walk to the town, also 10 minutes' walk to the beach.
On the square bakery and restaurant, but not tested. Queuing at full capacity and... single entry was not our thing. Here you could have offered a pre-order service or similar to cope with the rush.
No controls on who comes/goes onto the site. Side entrance also possible for naturists.
All in all, we wouldn't visit the town or the campsite again.Automatisk oversat. - Helmut K.September 2019PositiveYou get the tranquillity of the North Sea and the friendliness. And relearn the necessary serenity. Great!Negativactually none. you have to be a good walker or have a bike. why? long distances.RelaxI found a very quiet and well-organized campsite. I was in the naturist area. Due to the situation, there are fewer guests in the off-season. But that was exactly what I expected. I experienced friendliness, smiles and professionalism. I felt very comfortable. The sanitary facilities are very clean and... well maintained. Catering and menu in the "Kajüte" were ok. It tasted good and was plentiful. Price ok. I would love to come back. You can walk to the center of Hooksiel in 45 minutes. Faster by bike. The EDEKA at the traffic circle is well stocked.Automatisk oversat.
- Gustaf H.August 2019PositiveLocationNegativMuslim men from Syria in the sanitary facilities naturist areaMuslim men from Syria in naturist sanitary facilitiesFor some time now, Muslim men from Syria have been working in the naturist sanitary facilities. My wife and three daughters no longer feel comfortable in the naturist area. These are two cultures coming together. The looks on the men's faces speak for themselves. The naturist area is a sensitive place. This should be taken into account on both sides. Whether we visit the site next year depends on this situation.Automatisk oversat.
- Frank A.July 2019PositiveSpacious nudist area; also possible in high season without bookingNegativBeach a little awayBeautiful naturist campsiteVery spacious naturist campsite. I was on the site in the high season in mid-July and the site was not even 50% full. So there was plenty of space. The sanitary building in the naturist area was cleaned regularly, there was nothing to complain about at any time. Bakery and restaurant/snack bar exclusively... in the textile part of the campsite. Nudist beach with beach sauna is a bit far away, but can be reached quickly by bike, for example. Overall very nice vacation, will definitely be back!Automatisk oversat.
