- Peter P.July 2024PositiveEvenly sized pitches, lots of trees, large sanitary buildingNegativMany pitches are slightly sloping, but can be leveled out with wedges.Conveniently located place for MeteoraCamping Vrachos is conveniently located on the outskirts of Kastraki; the monasteries are within easy reach. There are no shopping facilities on site, but in the neighboring village of Kalambaka there is a LIDL and other supermarkets with a good range. The prices in the site's own taverna are high -... as far as the wine selection is concerned - we didn't try the food, we preferred to go to Stefanos Meteora Tavern, up the road on the left, where we ate very good grilled dishes. The site is very large and the trees provide a natural separation between the plots due to the distance between the plants. It's wide enough for our tent or a camper van with a canopy. The sanitary facilities were always clean, the pool was refreshing and there was always a lifeguard watching the activity in the water - I found it reassuring. There were plenty of places to sit and relax around the pool. The campsite is nice and quiet at night. You can also go on hikes to the monasteries directly from the campsite - but we didn't do this because of the heat. We found the campsite perfectly suitable as a stopover.Automatisk oversat.
- Antonio F.July 2023PositiveNice pitches, nice facilities. Convenient common areas for cooking and eating.NegativnoneNice campsite. Perfect for visiting the monasteries.Slept two nights. From the campsite we visited all the monasteries on foot. Challenging but doable for good walkers.Automatisk oversat.
- johannes M.September 2021PositiveThe campsite is centrally located in Kastrati, right in front of the Meteora rocks. You can explore all the monasteries from here by bike. However, you should not be put off by the fact that there is mass tourism here all year round. The restaurant at the campsite is very good and the swimming pool offers a pleasant refreshmentNegativThe seats are all completely free, but some are very smallBest place to visit the Meteora monasteriescertainly a very suitable place for visiting the Meteora monasteries. The swimming pool and the good restaurant deserve special mention. The prices are very reasonable overall. The campsite costs €20 for two people and one mobile home, and the restaurant prices are also very reasonable.Automatisk oversat.
- Jörg S.August 2019Positive- Proximity to the monasteries - good restaurant - clean sanitary facilitiesGreat placeThe campsite is perfectly located for visiting the Meteora monasteries! Very good restaurant, sanitary facilities with individual washing cubicles, pool available! Somewhat hilly/steep and long paths, depending on the pitch. Operator family very nice and accommodating!Automatisk oversat.
- Thomas B.June 2019PositiveGreat location, clean, perfectly organizedNegativNonePerfect for a short stay for Meteora sightseeingVery organized: Check-in 1 min, check-out 1 min in between: Feeling good in shady places at the bottom, clean, by the pool with a wonderful view of the Meteora rocks and with a delicious barbecue in the restaurant in the evening. The family has the place under control. Absolutely exemplary.Automatisk oversat.
- Christian A.August 2018PositiveLocation to the monasteriesNegativDustyIdeal starting point for visiting the monasteriesWell, this place is routine with the guests who arrive for the monasteries and then soon leave again. The place was quite full, but we still found a nice, somewhat stuabu place. The pool looks a bit nicer in the pictures but overall it's fine. Shopping in the village is difficult but it's not far to the neighboring town. We didn't set off for the Köstern until around 11:30 which turned out to be completely sufficient and uncomplicated.Automatisk oversat.
- Jürgen G.August 2018PositiveClose to the Meteora monasteries, central to be able to take a nice walk into town in the evening.NegativNothing special.Good CP to visit the Meteora monasteriesOverall a good CP with a good price-performance ratio. Very good taverna, centrally located for a nice walk along the Meteora rocks in the evening.Automatisk oversat.
- Markus K.July 2018PositiveCentrally locatedCentrally locatedThe square is an ideal starting point for visiting the monasteries. There is a bus stop right across the street. There are various options for visiting the monasteries by bus or on foot. There are various tavernas in the immediate vicinity.Automatisk oversat.

- Andrej B.July 2018PositiveClean, good position, swimming pool.NegativNoisy when there are big groups accomodated.Nice campingGoog camping, nice owner, very clean bathrooms. The restaurant is good. You have also a lot of shaded places. The pitches around the swimming pool and the bathrooms are noisy.
- Guntram H.May 2018PositiveWell managed and ideal "base location"Well and dedicated managed courseWe have been to this site many years ago! It has obviously been extended since then (flat, shady pitches in the lower area) and the sanitary facilities have been renovated. These are in top order and are kept clean at all times. - The pool was not yet in use in May, but the restaurant served the legendary... souflaki and other excellent dishes. The very friendly and usually cheerful chef is often to be found and also speaks excellent German. But you can also get by with English! - The village of Kastraki is only a few minutes' walk away. You can buy supplies in the small stores; otherwise, the small store in the restaurant also offers the essentials. I wouldn't recommend the walk to Kalabaka (hilly terrain). - The Meteora monasteries are right on the doorstep. Excursions can be booked at the C-place and you will be picked up. Otherwise you can also hike up or cycle up the new road. - In summer, pitches are likely to be scarce here. But I think there is a constant coming and going. Waiting in front of the site to get in is rather difficult.Automatisk oversat.
- Werner Z.October 2017PositiveClose to the Meteora monasteries, taverna with good food on site, dog-friendlyNegativCampsite is in the town and on a slope. However, both are whining on a high level.A good place among the Meteora monasteriesWell located site for visiting the Meteora monasteries. Clean toilets and showers, very friendly staff, good taverna right next to the site. Also suitable for larger motorhomes. Still busy in the evening at the end of October. Important for us: dog-friendly campsite!Automatisk oversat.
- Sabine H.October 2017PositiveProximity to MeteoraregionNegativSanitary in need of renovation, bad smellBase camp for meteor viewingThe site is ok for a short stay to visit the Meteoraregion. The sanitary building has a typical Greek standard. Since it was off-season, I can't rate the swimming pool, it was drained and the pool area itself looked dingy. We didn't eat in the taverna, so no rating.Automatisk oversat.
- Mark H.September 2017PositiveGood location.Very good location for Meteora sightseeingWe were there in the low season, so it was very empty at the time. Good location for visiting the monasteries. Nice pool.Automatisk oversat.

- Sascha T.June 2016Positivepeace and quiet beautiful location very friendly owners Ideal for excursions to the Meteora monasteriesIdeal for excursions to MeteoraBeautiful, spacious and quiet place with lots of shade. The reception building at the entrance was closed when we visited in early June 2016, but we were immediately waved into the taverna where bread etc. is also sold in the morning. Registration was straightforward and we were able to choose a free... pitch. The site is very natural and shady due to the tall trees. The sanitary facilities were clean and the number of toilets and showers was more than sufficient. There are several nice tavernas in the small town. However, you have to drive to the next village to go shopping. There is a pool, but we didn't use it. Overall, a very nice and quiet place that is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Kalampaka.Automatisk oversat.
- Michael M.September 2015Positivebeautiful and shady pitches very clean sanitary facilitiesgreat and very clean placeA wonderful place with a great view of the rocks of Meteora. Very clean sanitary facilities. Extremely friendly and helpful owners. We had an emergency and were wonderfully looked after by the owners. They even accompanied us to the hospital in Kalambaka, translated and even waited until everything was OK again. Many thanks for that.Automatisk oversat.
