"Disappointing stay despite beautiful location - The campsite has the potential to be a truly idyllic place, but unfortunately this potential is severely dampened by serious shortcomings in the facilities and service. We booked a comfort pitch with a view of the lake online, which was supposed to be equipped with fresh water, waste water and electricity connections. On site, however, we discovered that pitch 13 had neither its own electricity connection nor a proper water or waste water connection. Instead, we were supposed to share the electricity with the neighboring pitch 12, which we were not informed of beforehand. Our request to provide a Gardena coupling was only met with a tired smile and a "not possible". It was particularly annoying that the remaining payment was demanded in full before we had even viewed the pitch. A refund for early departure due to the defects was refused, which gives the impression that the operator has no interest in responding to customer requests or rectifying defects. Another major annoyance was the condition of the sanitary facilities. The women's washroom was very moldy and was not cleaned daily despite its poor condition. The cleanliness of the newly designed men's area was also inadequate, and here too obvious dirt was not removed for several days. To summarize, our stay was a disappointment across the board. The management seems to be more focused on profit than guest satisfaction. The site could be a real gem if it were in the hands of operators who cared about the needs and well-being of the campers. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this site in its current form.

"Hands off Friesland Camping - mold, faeces and risk of injury! - I can't even give this campsite one star. It was an absolute horror! The sanitary building was a cave of mold - the health department should urgently pay a visit. The toilets were full of faeces and unacceptable. In 30 years of camping I have never seen anything so disgusting. Around the sanitary building there is a completely broken veranda with screws sticking out. Without sturdy shoes you can easily injure yourself here. We had booked 14 days, but left in horror after 5 days and the operator claimed that it was cleaned daily - an outright lie! This campsite is an absolute disgrace and should be avoided.

"Pity - I paid €39 for one night with a Fiat Doblo. One person without dog and lake view. When I asked, they replied that it didn't matter whether it was for one or two people.

"Great place - The campsite is located directly on a beautiful lake. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities and the large pitches are very well maintained. There are even raised beds with free kitchen herbs and a bread roll service.

Vejbeskrivelse

Der Campingplatz liegt verkehrsgünstig an der ehemaligen Bundesstraße 210 und ist nur 15 Kilometer vom Nordseestrand entfernt. Die zentrale Lage im Herzen Frieslands macht den Campingplatz auch zum idealen Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge mit dem Fahrrad. Das Radwegenetz in Schortens ist …besonders gut ausgebaut. Alle Ausflugsziele lassen sich durch die hervorragende Beschilderung (Knotenpunktsystem) sehr gut mit dem Rad erreichen. Die Möglichkeit sich ein Rad vor Ort zu mieten oder gar zu kaufen existiert ebenfalls. Die Innenstädte von Schortens (0,5 km) mit hervorragenden Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Jever (3 km) mit der bekannten Brauerei, der Altstadt und dem Schloss sind nur wenige Minuten entfernt. Auch die maritime Großstadt Wilhelmshaven (15 km) ist mit dem Fahrrad bequem zu erreichen.
