- Arvid P.August 2019PositiveLarge, clean, undisturbed, beautifully situated.NegativNo electricity, no W-LAN.Great place in the north of HarrisI can't understand the negative reviews. However, it can be that when the place is full and there are a few idiots among them it gets messy. We arrived at 17:00 and everything was fine. The cleaning service arrived around 17:30. The pitch is big. You have to stand somewhere at least 6m away from your... neighbor. There is no electricity or water. The sanitary facilities are two converted containers. From the outside they look quite shabby, beige-brown with countless rust spots. The inside is tidy and clean. There are toilets, showers and washing facilities. Separate disabled toilets and washing-up facilities. In front of the entrance, the very friendly operator has a snack van. There is a good selection. We were very satisfied and would love to come back.Automatisk oversat.
- Zelter X.July 2013This campsite has one thing in particular: Its prime location directly above a long, paradisiacal sandy beach and turquoise sea. From the site, the view stretches from the island of Taransay to the mountains of North Harris. The site is conveniently located on the A859 in the west of South Harris. Coming... from the north, you turn right into a usually quite full parking lot and then lug your camping equipment on foot to the pitch of your choice. There is hardly a pitch without a sea view and despite the obvious popularity of the campsite, you can still get a pitch in the first row by the sea in the evening. Especially when the weather is nice, the site is quite lively and the beach is well frequented. The water is clean and the stretch of coast is good for swimming; it gets deep relatively quickly. The pitches are level and some require sand pegs. The sanitary facilities are housed in containers and are very rudimentary. You shouldn't be too demanding when it comes to cleanliness (due to the high frequency of visitors). You need a bike or car for shopping/eating out; the nearest towns worth mentioning are several miles away. A huge sandy beach, Traigh Luskentyre, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, is a few miles away. The Golden Road in the east of South Harris and the famous church in Rodel St. Clement are also within easy reach. There are several hiking trails.Automatisk oversat.
