Great campsite
We came across this campsite by chance in January 2020 because we wanted to experience the Danish Baltic Sea. Booked in advance, anticipation was high, and what can I say... We were right.

Hou Strandcamping is a small (downsized) campsite near Odder. Registration and check-in is done electronically.... We were a little apprehensive at first, but it worked perfectly when we arrived.

The site itself is very well maintained, parceled out and the individual pitches are large enough for caravans, awnings and cars.

The sanitary facilities are super clean, very well maintained and also with regard to Covid-19, sufficient surface disinfection has been provided here. There is a family bathroom and individual wash cubicles with toilets. There could be a little more overall, as there can be waiting times at peak times.

Access to all facilities on the site is by entering a pin code, which activates an electronic lock. We haven't seen this before, but it works very well even with children.

There is a nice playground for the children and the beach is less than five minutes away.

All in all, the only thing missing for our taste was a small kiosk and a bread roll service. But that's not a negative criticism, because we knew beforehand that there wasn't one here. The nearest bakery, where you can also buy limited everyday items, is about 8 km away. The best place to go shopping is Odder, about 9 km away. There you will find Aldi, Lidl, Netto etc., cash machines, a DIY store and much more...

A big compliment goes to the manager of the campsite, Mr. Astrup. He helps everywhere, is always available to answer questions, is always very friendly and makes you feel right at home. Although there is no "normal" reception here, he is very often on site and looks after things.

The "paradise" for permanent campers
Some distance from the highway, the site is beautifully situated on the Danish Baltic Sea. The CP is clearly characterized by the permanent campers - many with dog/s. 2 very nice service buildings in clean condition, a well-stocked store and a great playground offer lots of fun for children. The beach is right next to the campsite. As a tourist / traveler you are rather the exotic.

Very nice clean well maintained place in the middle of nature, nice beach.self-service store which has a good selection.Welan available.sanitary facilities clean and modern.owners nice and helpful.large playground with playroom.gladly come back.

virklig dejlig plads med søde ejer. gode forhold og nem vej ned til stranden, uden man skal ud af pladsen. gode lege muligheder for børn, og ellers et rigtig hyglig sted
