"Super location - A nice, small and tranquil site in the middle of the village of Maccagno and right on the lake. Despite its prime location, the site is pleasantly quiet, even in the evening. Access to the lake is via a code-secured door, so that no uninvited guests have access. The beach is very rocky, but there are also sandy and shallow areas at the mouth of a small stream that are suitable for children. There are nice footpaths to restaurants, bars and the boat landing stage; the whole village is very well-kept and quiet. The pitches are large enough, but everything is a little cramped. The driveways in particular require some maneuvering. The sanitary facilities are new, well ventilated and well maintained. There is a separate sanitary area for small children. The bar on site has pretty much everything you need in terms of food, but only accepts cash. The breakfast service is very nice, with packed lunches ready first thing in the morning. The staff are very friendly and customer-oriented, but also firm. Waste separation is taken very seriously.

"Again and again - On our first tour with a motorhome we had our first stop here. The access road is a bit narrow but you can manage everything with a certain amount of peace and quiet. The sanitary facilities are amazing! Well maintained. Very quiet in the evening. Almost everyone goes to sleep here at 9 pm. The pitches are shady. Therefore fully satisfied

"The new, old sanitary building is a hit! - Work continued from fall 2028 to spring 2019. The 'shell' of the sanitary building remained - but that's all. Completely new layout inside, beautiful colors, bright and spacious now. The showers now have a shelf for clothes that stay dry when people are showering. And there is also a spacy 'tile box' for storing shower gel and shampoo. The current children's bathroom is also great. There's sure to be lots of cheering in the evening when it's time to shower. The hit for me: a 'fragrance dispenser' by the toilet

Maccagno is easy to reach by car / RV / caravan or by train. Maccagno itself has a small station platform. Larger towns with better access to major cities are Luino, Varese or Bellinzona. Maccagno also has a ferry pier …(just 300 m from the campsite), which runs daily to tourist destinations such as Luino, Cannobbio or Isola Bella and Isola Madre.
