- Volker Q.June 2023PositiveClean sanitary facilities, great for children.NegativnoneGreat placeIt really is a great place, very nicely situated, shopping facilities are also there. It's great for children, with a swimming pool and climbing forest.
And there's a great outdoor pool halfway up the hill.Automatisk oversat. - Stefan B.August 2021Positive- Generally great value for money - Indoor playground and swimming pool - Great playground - Very naturalNegativ- Sanitary building is completely undersized - unfortunately only 4 comfort pitches with water and waste waterSpace with many pros and consThe park is located far above the Moselle in the middle of the forest. It goes without saying that the approach is correspondingly winding. But it is easy to master. Unfortunately, an excursion is therefore always a short trip around the world. Just to go shopping (Lidl/Aldi ect...) you have to drive... 20 minutes.
The site is divided into several terraces. The sanitary building is in the middle. Unfortunately there is only one of these, so it gets very crowded at peak times. The cleanliness of the whole place suffers accordingly. Improvements should really be made here. Due to the dense tree population, most of the pitches are nicely shaded.
The site is mainly visited by families with children. They are really offered something. There is an indoor pool, indoor playground, great outdoor playground, wildlife enclosure and great entertainment. There is also a small store with everything you need. The prices are quite expensive. The restaurant and snack bar are also okay (depending on your requirements).
For us, both stays so far have been very relaxing as the children were very happy. Apart from the few little things mentioned and not expecting a luxury resort, you can spend a wonderful vacation here with the children.
The price-performance ratio is definitely right here.Automatisk oversat. - Florian J.October 2019Not a 5 star placeThe place is not a 5 star place in our opinion. There is garbage in almost every hedge. The recycling area was so full when we arrived that all the garbage bags were in front of, next to and on top of the garbage cans. There is a sanitary block for the 120 or so pitches. You can imagine what is going... on there at peak times. Every effort is made to keep the sanitary block clean, but this is simply not possible with the flow of people. The service in the to go restaurant is very friendly, but the food is a flop. Every frozen pizza from the supermarket tastes better. There is a lot on offer for children. (Playground, climbing park, indoor playground, swimming pool, Bollo Club.....) Another positive thing to mention is the really friendly reception. The ladies and gentlemen at the reception are very friendly and inform you from a to z. We would not recommend this place. There are far better campsites for children that cost just as much. And there are far better 5 star campsites. In our opinion, this is not worth 5 stars.Automatisk oversat.
- Sabrina U.October 2019PositiveEntertainment, games/climbing/bowling hall, forest climbing garden, indoor poolNegativAccess; the navigation system shows a road which is not ideal for caravans. It is best to take the next road up on the left.Wonderful camping no matter if sun or rainThanks to a 30% discount, we (2 adults + 2 children 6+10 years) paid "only" €36.44 per night. The children were able to experience a lot this week: Bowling, climbing, forest rope park, snorkeling course, photo treasure hunt and the Bollo. Thanks to a voucher booklet, we saved on the entertainment costs with... two free children's menus, free welcome drinks and free ice cream for everyone. We like the resort very much. It's clean everywhere, the staff are extremely friendly and the children are kept busy even when it's raining cats and dogs. We will be back!Automatisk oversat.
- Alexander K.October 2018PositiveIndoor playground Swimming poolSuper nice CP for familiesWe (2 adults, 4 children 7/7/5/5) were with WW for 7 days in the Bayer. Autumn vacation there. There was a very large indoor playground, swimming pool and outdoor playground for the children. Always have 1 euro coin ready for the lockers. A climbing forest in the CP was too expensive for us. Playground,... swimming pool are close to the pitches, but far away from the rental accommodation. Pitches are still clean even in heavy rain as the ground is slate slabs from the mountain. Disadvantage: rock pegs are needed to secure the awning.Automatisk oversat.
- Björn B.May 2018PositiveSwimming pool, climbing park, peace and quietNegativremoteGood for families, active people and those seeking relaxationThe indoor play area and the climbing park are ideal for children up to the age of 12. The climbing park is also fun for adults.Automatisk oversat.
- Tim L.May 2018PositivePlayground, play hall, swimming poolNegativWLAN expensive, no D-network reception, cleanliness of sanitary facilitiesWLAN outrageously expensive and sanitary extremely dirtyWe were there with a group of 5 families (10 adults, 11 children, aged 3-16) over the Father's Day weekend, just like 2 years ago. The place is great for the children and excursions. An absolute rip-off with a very poor D-network is the WLAN for 12.50 €/day. Two years ago the sanitary facilities were... always very clean and were cleaned several times a day, but this time they were in a terrible state. It was only cleaned very superficially if at all, in front of 2 men's toilets there was a puddle of vomit for a whole day, soap was missing from the soap dispenser for 3 days. After complaining, however, they were cleaned immediately and more thoroughly. According to the ladies at reception, the deterioration in cleanliness is mainly due to the cost-cutting measures of the operator, who hired a new and cheaper cleaning service provider. We will probably not be back.Automatisk oversat.
- Lars S.May 2018PositiveIndoor pool for bad weatherNegativNone foundIngeniousAny time again. Simply top. The two of us with our 4 year old son. Brilliant location. Super nice staff. Pure relaxation.Automatisk oversat.
- Lars E.March 2018PositiveIndoor playground Swimming pool PlaygroundsNegativRed wine from the Moselle just doesn't work for me :-) Poor mobile phone reception (Telekom and Vodafone) and expensive WLANGreat indoor playground and super sanitary facilitiesThe indoor playground is great and very varied. The sanitary facilities are fairly new and very clean with large showers and 2 great family bathrooms. Good idea for the little ones, there was a stack of steps so that they could easily reach the washbasins.Automatisk oversat.
- Rainer H.July 2017Positive+ Indoor playground and indoor pool + Easy handlingNegativ- WLAN costs far too high - Cycling back up the mountain impossibleGreat leisure activities for children! We were there for 11 nights in July. The park offers a wide range of activities, especially for small children. The indoor playground is connected to the restaurant so that parents also have something to do. Modern sanitary facilities. Paid but beautiful outdoor pool nearby. Unfortunately, due to the difference in altitude, it is almost only accessible by car.Automatisk oversat.
- Silke L.July 2017PositiveCompact design of the entire facility. Clean sanitary facilities and grounds. Spacious pitches.NegativPoor cell phone reception and expensive wifi (for those who need it)Ideal campsite for familiesWe were there for 5 days with our granddaughter (6 years) and were very enthusiastic. Sanitary always clean despite the many children. Indoor and outdoor playground spacious and varied. Swimming pool pleasantly warm and very nice. Everything is very compact so that the children can quickly find their... way around and you can also let them run around on their own. Restaurant is ok. The camping store is well stocked but quite expensive. We will definitely be back.Automatisk oversat.
- Frank L.June 2017PositiveRecreational facilities, indoor playground, swimming pool, restaurant area, space and the care provided by the team are simply perfect.NegativNoneLovely weekendWe stayed at the campsite for a long weekend (4 nights). The site is perfect. There is a climbing park, the finest indoor playground, a brilliant indoor pool, mini golf etc.. The store on the campsite was excellent. The sanitary facilities were very clean despite full occupancy. A lot of effort is made... on the site to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay. Very high praise and many thanks to the team at the campsite. The price of the pitch: 4 nights incl. electricity for 2 people! "90,00€" ! unbeatable and very cheap. We have booked again for the long weekend from 27.10. to 01.11 (125,00€ for 5 nights).Automatisk oversat.
- Y. B.May 2017PositiveIndoor play hall ,Swimming pool on rainy days simply TOP!!!!!NegativOnly small things in the sanitary area... Hygiene dispensers would be great in the toilets.....Come to this Landal Park for the 3rd time and always find it nice on the campsiteAutomatisk oversat.
- Cornelia W.May 2017PositiveThere is a lot for the children to do.Negativno water and waste water on the plotCamping SonnenbergThe site is at the top of the hill, so it's sometimes quite steep. But it's still easy to get to. Once you get to the top, you have everything you need. Swimming pool, indoor playground, outdoor playground .... A real paradise for children.Automatisk oversat.
- Rico H.May 2017NegativThe modern and new-looking sanitary building is unfortunately poorly ventilated and not always clean, there is room for improvement hereAlways a nice destination for a short vacationHere you also have plenty of options if the weather doesn't play along. Indoor play hall with climbing wall for older children too. The newly opened climbing park is a highlight for us. We also love using the small swimming pool.Automatisk oversat.
- Fritz B.April 2017PositiveSuper nice well-kept complex, many leisure activities, good price-performance ratioNegativYou have to be mobile, restaurant not highly recommended, busy at weekendsPerfect for a family vacation...We visited the campsite for the first time for two weeks at Easter 2017. 2 adults, 2 children (aged 10 and 14) and a dog. All with different requirements for a vacation together. First of all, the campsite satisfied everyone. If you want to find something negative, you'll find something. It's no different... here on the Sonnenberg, but the shortcomings here are not as serious as on other sites, although there is still room for improvement. The approach to the site is steep, but not a great challenge for a team driver. Everything is signposted in an exemplary manner, so that you can find your way easily on the approach and during the check-in process. Nice welcome at reception, with keys and various information material handed out. The access to your own pitch was easy, again everything was clearly signposted, so that a procedure with the trailer is actually excluded and the paths are also sufficiently wide. The pitches are laid out in parcels, nicely sized with grass and gravel. Electricity and aerial connections are available, drinking water taps with waste water outlets are located close to the pitches. The whole area is nice and large and makes a clean and well-kept first impression. As the new climbing forest opened on the day of our arrival and you could practically climb almost over our pitch, the children's first destination was of course the climbing park. There are two tours with different levels (Discovery and Adventure) and prices to choose from. You can go to Timber's restaurant for refreshments, but I really can't recommend it. It's not even at chip shop level. I don't expect Michelin-starred cuisine on a campsite, but the price-performance ratio really isn't right here. But anyway, I tried it once and didn't think it was good. Down in the village, there are plenty of opportunities for good food with extensive wine tasting. Here I can only recommend everyone to stop off at the local wine taverns, it's worth it. If you still prefer to stay on the campsite, you can stock up in the campsite's own supermarket. Of course, everything is more expensive, but the prices are just about acceptable and the selection is really more than convincing. The supermarket's own wine shop is also really good, and the regional wines on offer were no more expensive than those from the local winegrowers. The opening hours are very consumer-friendly, even over Easter the market was open from morning to evening and stocked with fresh produce. However, if you want it cheaper, you have to be mobile. Down in Leiwen there is a good little EDEKA market with an adjoining drinks market. But you can't get down there quickly by bike, or you can get down quickly but it's about 5 km uphill back. That's why team riders have a clear advantage on the Sonnenberg. The toilet facilities and washrooms are super modern and clean, family showers, individual cubicles, washing areas etc., everyone should be happy here. The scullery is spacious and adequately sized, with outdoor and indoor seating. Microwave, refrigerators, washing machine, dryer, everything the camper rarely needs is available. Disposal station for your own chem. Toilet is clean and functional. The dog shower next door is less suitable for large and heavy dogs. The stairs to the shower area, which is probably higher for ergonomic reasons, are too narrow. You have to lift your dog into the shower. As I said, no problem with small dogs. But clean and heated. Not really a point of criticism, but could be improved. The site's own indoor pool is great, as is the equipment and the range of outdoor and indoor play areas. Basketball, soccer, table tennis, trampoline, climbing wall, billiards and much more. It's no problem to keep the children entertained here in bad or good weather. Minigolf, archery and bowling cost extra. From the campsite you are right in the forest and can start great hikes from here. Nature lovers and dog owners will get their money's worth here. But even a walk across the Landal grounds to the deer enclosure is fun, from here you have a great panoramic view of the Moselle loop. The traffic and noise on the site is limited, and the night's rest was more or less respected. Reception with the satellite system was not a problem in April, as the trees were still mostly bare. Wi-Fi is free at the restaurant and on the pitch, we paid €42.50 for 6 devices for 2 weeks. The Wi-Fi is fast enough for streaming videos and surfing. Waste disposal easily accessible and clean. No smell, no empty bottles or garbage bags, and no residual waste on the ground. Landal Park is a popular destination at the weekend. It is always very crowded then. That's perhaps the only disadvantage, but the park has to pay for itself. Our conclusion: Great place for a family vacation, of course it seems a bit more expensive at first glance, but if you exclude the extensive free leisure activities (and the electricity, water and showers are also included) it is actually a good offer. I can't find any major disadvantages here (apart from the restaurant), everyone had a good time and felt comfortable. You just need to be mobile, otherwise you are very tied to the pitch and we gave it full marks.Automatisk oversat.
- Nicole L.October 2016PositiveConnection to the park with free use of the leisure facilities and therefore independent of the weather. Everything is very clean.NegativPoor cell phone reception - but a week without a cell phone also has advantagesBeautifully located place with connection to the parkWe (2 adults + 2 children -10 + 15 years old-) stayed at the campsite for a week in October 2016. The approach is very winding and often narrow. The campsite itself is located in the middle of the forest, if you need cell phone reception or a satellite dish, you are almost lost. The pitch itself is generously... sized, the paths on the campsite are paved, but not tarred or paved. The pitch has all utilities (electricity, water, etc.) and a cable connection (in the power box). If necessary, you can also get suitable cables and connections in the supermarket next door :-) The supermarket is well stocked, typical prices, but ok. You know that. However, further shopping facilities are only a few kilometers away in the neighboring towns. The sanitary facilities are generously sized so that there are always enough toilets and showers / washbasins - no matter what time of day. The washrooms are also spacious, with plenty of mirrors and sockets. The washing-up area is separate and also offers enough space. Cleanliness is a top priority everywhere in and around the wash house. We met the cleaning ladies at all possible times - and they were always very friendly. The Landal Park is right next to the campsite. You can easily use its leisure activities (swimming pool, indoor hall, bowling alley, restaurant, playgrounds, etc.) Very friendly staff everywhere. The food was very tasty and I thought the prices were ok for such a park. You can also go on great excursions in the surrounding area, so a week goes by very quickly - whatever the weather. Arrivals and departures are made very easy, without much effort. If you want to leave at a time when the reception is still or already closed, there is an extra key box to put the key in. The key is needed for the campsite lockers. All in all great :-) We will definitely be backAutomatisk oversat.
- Rene S.September 2016Positive-Clean sanitary facilities -Swimming pool on site -Beautiful children's playground (indoor and outdoor)Negativ- Not all pitches are suitable for tentsNice place and good hiking baseWe were there for the 2nd time in fall 2016. The 1st time in June 2014 we were only there with a normal two-person tent. It has to be said that the site is more geared towards caravans and motorhomes. The ground was very problematic for our tent as it was mainly solid/compacted gravel. It was not easy... to get a peg in here. But there are also a few pitches with more grass. So it was no problem for us to swap pitches. On our last vacation, we were there with our folding caravan. We started our hiking tours from here (tip: Traumschleifen). But we were also able to run short laps around the site with our child (1 year old) and dog. As all the facilities were very clean, the staff were always friendly and helpful and we had nice neighbors, it was a perfect vacation for us.Automatisk oversat.
- Sascha M.June 2016Positive- Many options for children - Indoor swimming pool - Super price/performance ratio - Friendly staffNegativ- W-Lan expensive! - Steep access roadBeautiful place - beautifully situatedWe've already been there twice and we'll definitely be back. Great facilities for younger children, indoor playground, outdoor playground, indoor pool and children's entertainment. There is also a climbing park directly adjacent to the site and a large outdoor pool nearby. Sanitary facilities always clean, but sometimes a bit cramped for "more stable" peopleAutomatisk oversat.
- Hees S.June 2016PositivePlenty of indoor and outdoor activities for the children. Variety of activities and excursions on offer Good locationNegativnoneAlways worth a tripFor us, 200 km away, it's absolutely perfect for a short trip, especially because you don't have to worry about the weather. With the huge indoor area and swimming pool for the kids and the cozy restaurant for the adults in bad weather or soccer field, mini golf etc. in good weather an absolute dream.... We will definitely be back. We have recommended the site to our camping friends from Lahn Dill. And in any case, the mega friendly staff in all areas should be emphasized !!!Automatisk oversat.
