- Ulf S.March 2025PositiveCamperClean station, water column, dumping station, beach bar, lakeNegativNo shopping facilities on site (yet)Great for transitMy wife and I spent the weekend at NaturCamp. And what can I say: a very modern concept - just the way I like it. The pitches are big enough and graveled. The dumping station is completely new and very large. Also: no unpleasant odors from toilet cassettes, as a CamperClean station is available. Thank you, we will certainly be back.Automatisk oversat.
- Luisa B.October 2024PositiveAll additional costs can be paid by credit card. Only 100m to the lakeNegativReception only manned from 9 am to 1 pm. After that by telephoneRelaxed summer vacationFinally discovered a campsite that is "small but nice". Everything you need is there and it's modern and clean.
And you didn't find any plastic flowers anywhere ;)Automatisk oversat. - Sabine W.October 2024PositiveLocation. Cleanliness.NegativNothingSuper placeWe found this place by chance on our way home from the south: it could do with a bit more (signage) to draw attention to itself! It is in a quiet location, very scenic! The staff are very committed and very friendly and are happy to give tips on places to eat (dinner) or excursions.
Thank you very much, we would love to come back!Automatisk oversat. - Markus s.September 2024Positiverelatively cheap for a small, modern and clean placeNegativFull sun on most pitches because the plants are still so smallgood campsiteI would love to come back when I need a little break. Quiet location by the lake. Everything is easy to find and there are no long distances. I can recommend a beer in the beach bar.
See you next time!Automatisk oversat. - Gerd B.September 2024PositiveIt's simply not crowded in this area. Not loud. I can really switch off and enjoy the sounds of nature.NegativThe gravel path in front of the pitches is difficult to cycle on. Then you just have to push for 50m :PExplore nature without mass tourismI was very impressed by the partly untouched nature in the Steinwald. The Waldnaabtal is highly recommended. You can either go on a tour by bike. But there are also numerous parking spaces for a hike. On hot days it was magical how cool this microclimate by the river can be.
The campsite was clean and... had everything I needed:
TOP location for all my excursions. No street noise at night. Independent check-in thanks to a code, as was check-out. Amazing sunset when sitting on one of the jetties or in a deck chair at the beach bar.
I need a few more nights here before I've fully explored the area. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!Automatisk oversat. - philipp p.September 2024PositiveYou are totally independent of any opening hours thanks to the 24/7 machine.NegativNo possibility for Porta Potti emptying. Only have a CamperClean station for €2New favorite placeThis campsite is on my annual route to the south, not far from the highway and yet in a very idyllic location. It also has a lake and a cool beach bar. That's all you need.Automatisk oversat.
- Sophie B.August 2024PositiveBathing lake, beach bar, surroundingsNegativNo supermarket nearbyNice camping vacationWe spent a lovely week here. Perfect for couples who want to "go out" a bit in the evening. The beach bar gives a real South Seas feeling.Automatisk oversat.
- Ralf T.August 2024PositiveFriendly staff and clean toiletsNegativ/Super placeBeautifully laid out course that no longer shows its age. A lot has been invested here!
The great beach bar is definitely worth mentioning. We will be back :)Automatisk oversat. - Jenny M.August 2024PositiveGreat bathing lake with playground and a nice beach bar.NegativThe road at the barrier is sloping. You should park on the left before the barrier to check in. Then you have to reverse back up again to drive through the barrier. A bit awkward with my old caravan. We will be back!We spent a week here with our children on an L pitch. The caravan fitted in well, but you have to be able to maneuver. We then parked the car across the road. There are no closing times at the barrier.
Thanks to the large playground and the lake, there was never a dull moment. In bad weather, we went to the Siebenquell thermal spa in Weißenstadt, 40 minutes away - great with children!Automatisk oversat. - Brigitte D.August 2024PositiveSwimming lake with separate non-swimmer area and playground on the large meadow. Step stool in the sanitary facilities.NegativOnly cold water when brushing teeth and washing handsFamily-friendly campsiteWe stayed at this campsite for a week as a family and had a great time out.
There is plenty of space for children to run around and explore on the large meadow by the lake. We had our SUBs with us and had a great time paddling across the lake. All utilities are paid with a credit card. There is a modern... and clean washing machine that you can book with an app for €4. There is also a dryer.
You also have to put your credit card on the reader to do the dishes. I was very hectic at first, but then I read that they only charge 1 cent per minute. This probably prevents people from leaving the tap running.
We were very surprised that the beach bar not only served the usual (currywurst, chips, cola), but also healthier alternatives, some of which were organic and regional. Highly recommended :)Automatisk oversat. - Sandra M.August 2024PositiveGreat value for money!NegativI can't think of anything :)Affordable family vacationWe were here with our 4 children on a large pitch. The price is for 2 adults with all the children. So it was great for us.
After swimming in the lake with a non-swimmer area and small water playground, you can shower off right there and then relax on the large lawn. The children were happy with the... play equipment. There is also a beach volleyball court and a table tennis table.
You could get ice cream, drinks and chips from the beach bar.
There were even berry bushes and herbs right by the campsite. So we were able to cook our favorite pasta with sage butter :)
We'll be back!Automatisk oversat. - Simone b.August 2024PositiveBeach cafe, lake, automatic check-in thanks to code whenever you arrive.NegativThere are a few permanent campers there. Personally, I don't like the look of it. But the people were all very friendly.Super campsiteMe and my boyfriend wanted to get away for the weekend and came across this campsite by chance. What luck :)
Everything is pretty uncomplicated and relaxed here.
We also got to know the owners - a young couple. Very likeable and hats off to them for what they have planned here. It's nice to see that... there are also entrepreneurs who set up a project in a really sustainable way. I don't think it's that easy to offer vegan chicken in rural Bavaria ;) They make sure to offer something for everyone, and in organic and regional quality wherever possible.
Best regards from Simone and Olaf! We will be back!Automatisk oversat. - emi h.August 2024PositivePay for everything with one card. I only pay for what I use. Location on the lake. 10 minutes from the highway, but you can't hear it at all.NegativVery few shady spots, as the trees are still so small.Modernized campsite by the lakeI stayed at this campsite with my family for a long weekend last year. We had a large pitch and the children loved the strawberries in the bed. And I loved the fresh kitchen herbs. What a great idea! Charging the card is easy and you can then use it to charge electricity to your charging point. We had... to search for a short time, but it's not big here, so it's easy to find where. I recommend simply charging a bit more, then you don't run the risk of running out of credit at night. And you can transfer the remaining credit back to your card later. The camper community was super nice and there were also other children there. It was great that mine could go to the play area with the playground. Swimming in the lake was also ok. I hate fish, but the kids were happy.
I can highly recommend it here.Automatisk oversat. - Anne S.July 2024PositiveSmall campsite, not overcrowded, regional products, clean sanitary facilities, swimming lakeNegativNo rental accommodation for campers available.Insider tipWe really enjoyed our vacation here! With our two children and our Goldi, we paid €203 plus €34 service charges for a week on a medium-sized pitch. We all showered every day, used electricity, emptied the cassette and did the dishes.
The children only really spent time in the playground and by the water. We could watch them from the beach bar. Perfect for us :)
We can highly recommend it!Automatisk oversat. - Marlene S.July 2024PositiveSmall, modern and clean.NegativNo cash payment for additional costs possible.Small campsite in the SteinwaldWe stayed here for 5 nights with our motorhome and had great weather for cycling and hiking. The Steinwald has a lot to offer and yet is so unknown. The lake is relatively small, but enough to cool off and swim a few lengths.Automatisk oversat.
- Christoph M.July 2024PositiveLevel pitches, clean sanitary facilities, modern supply and disposal systemsNegativ.Camping with a dogWe stayed with our motorhome and our two Shepherds on a large pitch for 6 days. Everything was fine so far. The dogs were only allowed off the non-swimmer area further back from the lake. We pointed out to a member of staff that the grass at the back of the lake was too high for them to be there. We... were very kindly assured that this would be taken care of. The next day, a path was mowed and what can I say... the area at the back was incredibly beautiful. We were able to relax between the trees without any people. There was also a shallow place to get into the water.
There was always a water-filled bowl at the beach bar and we also got something tasty there ;)
A small, simple, modern and clean campsite. Value for money is ok. We will be back!Automatisk oversat. - Laura P.July 2024PositiveArrival and departure possible at any time. Clean sanitary facilitiesNegativWith a larger vehicle you have to maneuver a little until you are in the right place.Beautiful placeWe had a great time here. The area is wonderful for cycling. The Waldnaab valley is incredibly fascinating! The whole area is not overcrowded with tourists, so it's a real insider tip for all hikers and bikers.Automatisk oversat.
- man h.July 2024PositiveSmall. Laid out close to nature. Flowers everywhere. Herb beds between pitches. Bathing lake. Beach café with a vacation feeling.NegativThe reception is not open all the time. But there was always someone available on the phone.Exemplary campsiteI was here with my wife last year and we can highly recommend the place. Despite many guests, it was rather quiet. The pitches are newly laid out, but with a lot of love. Currants, strawberries, sage, rosemary and edible flowers. Absolutely brilliant, I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. But... they also had a lot of work to do. The groundsman was very attentive and friendly. They don't mow the grass at lunchtime :P
The beach cafe was my highlight. It's great to sit with your feet in the sand and a cool drink with a view of the lake.
There weren't really any shopping facilities yet, but there are plans for a vending machine and they also want to offer a bread roll service soon. On Fridays, a mobile store with a truck comes to the site, which was great for the essentials. There was also a nice village café next door with corner shops and a wonderful sun terrace with an amazing view. The Fire and Kitchen restaurant in the same village, just a few minutes' walk away, was also delicious and highly recommended!
In general, I can say that it is a place with soul. They put a lot of thought into it and don't just scoop it up like some other campsite operators. They are getting bigger and more expensive. The offer here is enough and you feel comfortable. THANK YOU!Automatisk oversat. - Steffi s.July 2024PositiveThe campsite has been visibly modernized. We were there about 3 years ago and well, the new tenants have probably recognized the potential. The sanitary facilities have been renovated and were very clean. The new beach bar with the sand has a great atmosphere. The price-performance ratio is top here. I can only recommend it!NegativAll additional costs are paid separately via such a card. I am the all-inclusive type. On the other hand, the total bill was still favorable. So it actually fitssmall but nice, nature, bathing lake, modern sanitary facilitiesI was here for one night just passing through. Check-in is 24/7 via a machine like this. Pitches are nicely laid out. Plants are still a bit small as they are new. Everything is very clean.
The swimming lake was great for a quick dip and then a drink in the beach bar. TOP!Automatisk oversat. - Kerstin A.July 2024Positiveclose to the water, laid out close to nature with varied planting between the pitches, flexible check-in, great value for moneyNegativnothing to complain about ;-)Natural, modern and family-friendly campsiteAs a family of 5, we spent a weekend at NaturCamp Steinwald in our caravan. And were really pleasantly surprised by how much has changed since the new tenants took over in 2024. The new planning was approached with a well thought-out concept.
The new pitches are superbly laid out, each with a grass and... gravel surface.
The payment system is very practical. Water, electricity, showers etc. can simply be paid for with an RFID card. Please note that cash payment is not possible at NaturCamp Steinwald.
The tenants were also very friendly and helped us with any questions we had.
The children naturally loved the proximity to the water and the play equipment.
The Steinwald region generally has a lot to offer, be it hiking, e.g. to castle ruins, visiting one of the many Zoiglwirtschaften or cycling tours of various levels of difficulty.
In short: thumbs up and keep it up. A clear recommendation. Perfect place for a quiet and relaxed camping vacation, with lots of nature around you.Automatisk oversat.
