- Matthias R.September 2013There is nothing to add to helmut-867's detailed comment. However, all the electricity and water taps were working for us. The friendliness of the staff should be emphasized once again.Automatisk oversat.
- Helmut S.April 2013Vakantiepark De Byvanck BV is an inconspicuous little campsite on the Lower Rhine, just over the border in the Netherlands, in the so-called "Achterhoek". We visited this campsite for a week in April 2013. With the ACSI Card we paid €12 with an additional discount of 7 for 6 days (stay 7 days, pay 6... days). The decision for this site; site is located on the Lower Rhine, reasonable price, small site, small heated indoor pool, heated sanitary facilities. Easy to reach; Emmerich, Kleve, `s-Heerenberg, Arnhem, Nijmegen but also Winterswijk (Obelink). The site itself was ok, considering the early year only one water tap was in operation, but towards the end of the week (more visitors arrived) all taps were connected. No waste water disposal, apart from the chemical toilet. There was an old toilet block on the site, which was not attractive to look at and did not give a trustworthy impression and I hope that it does not go into operation in the main season. The sanitary facilities in the reception building were heated and always clean, but when the site is busy, in my opinion 2 showers and 2 toilets per gender are a bit few. Hot water for showering and washing up as well as waste disposal and the barrier at the entrance were operated with a charged key. Payment is made on departure (thanks to ACSI, the key was charged free of charge). The nearest Dutch village, Beek, is a little further away but still within walking distance. Perhaps it was also due to the time of year that Beek seemed rather unspectacular to us. Apart from some pretty respectable restaurants and pubs, Beek also had a small supermarket, a gas station and a snack bar. In contrast, we found the nearest village, Elten, on the German side, quite attractive and also cheaper for shopping, eating out and even filling up with diesel. The disadvantage of the site is that all the car traffic from the permanent campers and the residents of the vacation homes runs right through the touring camper site. All in all, a good, clean and reasonably priced site that is suitable for relaxing. We would love to come again.Automatisk oversat.
