In general, we had the feeling that the facilities such as the indoor pool, number of washing machines and toilets were too small for the huge number of guests.

Not very suitable for families with dogs.Good space for activities on the pitchThe site is in a very rural location near Roermond. It is a fairly large, beautifully laid out and well-kept site. There are various pitches, mobile homes, cabins, tents, glamping, houses and everything in between. Playgrounds are scattered all over and there is a large area in the middle where children... of all ages can play. Fishing lake with put and take, minigolf, billiard golf, bowling, indoor playground, BMX track, leisure facilities for soccer, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, etc. Swimming pool, various restaurants, kiosk with Dutch fast food, ice cream etc.
The swimming pool is really nice with various slides and the water was nice and warm. We were there after Easter and the place was very empty. Animation only in Dutch, although there were many German guests, a pity. The pitches were nice and big, lots of space all around. We were in the dog area. The sanitary facilities there were very clean, someone was always cleaning them. Unfortunately, the dog area is at the far end right next to the road. You are only allowed to take the shortest route outside with your dog. Otherwise, dogs are not allowed on the rest of the site. An extra exit from the dog area would be nice. There is a free running area in the dog area, dog toilet. The pitch was almost completely empty, we then asked for two pitches next to each other by email. We were then allocated these, for which we paid an extra 20 euros for processing. However, as the dog area was almost empty, we couldn't have been allocated a pitch right next to the road, as it was very noisy on the road. The service staff were very nice everywhere. There is not much to discover around the hotel. But you can go cycling and hiking in the adjacent woods. The supermarket is very well stocked, prices ok. There was something for all ages. A lot of attention was paid to safety in the pool. As we were there in October, the swimming pool was decorated in a spooky way with lots of love. There was entertainment for different age groups. There was also a roller cross track for cycling... and a lake for fishing. The private sanitary facilities we booked were apparently not aired regularly and therefore always smelled a bit musty. Otherwise the park was very well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful.Automatisk oversat.

There's a lot on the site for families. Many playgrounds, a great water playground (not only for water rats), a great swimming pool (we didn't use the outdoor areas and lake in the fall ;-) ),... 2 indoor playgrounds, mini golf, soccer billiards, children's entertainment, and much more.
The area around the campsite is great for cycling, even with children.

Certainly not the 1st choice for dog owners.Fine for a short stayWe had already been to the campsite several times a few years ago and were now able to compare. Suitable as a couple for a short vacation. The site is of course more geared towards families with children.
The sanitary building at the dog area is getting on in years, everything was clean but didn't really... look well maintained. Socket cover torn off, garbage can worn and smeared, flitsche for drawing off water handle broken off. Something like this could easily be replaced and the impression would be different. Water temperature was ok, water pressure rather modest and it drained badly. The temperature in the sanitary could be a little higher, especially in the fall.
Otherwise the place is nice, great supermarket, huge playgrounds. You can go for a nice walk. The grounds are also very well maintained.

Jan H.September 2022PositiveTheoretically very wide range of leisure activities Beautiful location on the edge of the forestNegativSize and equipment of the leisure facilities do not (or no longer) match the amount of accommodationEverything is there, especially lots of peopleWe were there again after years and were quite disappointed overall. The site has been extended several times (camping and vacation homes) and the amount of people no longer matches the leisure facilities. I have never, ever experienced such a blatantly overcrowded swimming pool. Changing clothes was... only possible in the corridor, cabins and lockers were completely overcrowded, as was the water area. Swimming is also done in shifts, the pool closes for half an hour every two hours.
The indoor play area is beautiful and relatively new, but small and - for whatever reason - completely windowless. A dark cave even in the most beautiful fall weather.
The food was OK, the restaurant with a barbecue integrated into the tables was really funny. The mini golf course was also nice.

VERY friendly staff!Negativ"Booking only from Saturday to Saturday" - at the end of August. 2nd wifi access expensiveLimited booking options at an otherwise very good locationWe were traveling in NL for 3 weeks and would have liked to stay longer at de Leistert. Unfortunately, you could only book from Saturday to Saturday, which didn't suit us. So we were only on the site for three nights at the end of our vacation. We arrived in the evening after 6pm. As reception was already... closed, the access card was left in the restaurant. Very friendly, very flexible.
The site is riiiiiiiiiig and offers a wide range of accommodation options, from tents and classic pitches to glamping accommodation and vacation homes in the area opposite, as well as lots of play areas for children. The indoor pool is not bad, but we thought Marveld was better. We ate in the restaurant once in the evening, where you could barbecue right at the table. A very tasty experience for the kids - but not cheap.

Sanitary facilities in container construction, as you often find in the Netherlands. Simple, but sufficient, functional and clean.
We were in the "Elzenhof" area, which is a large ellipse with a very large play area for children in the middle.

These potholes are good for driving a mover to pieces. Regarding the free use of wifi, this is poor. In the morning reception is sufficient oo 20 mtr distance, in the evening no coverage. Also, one must log in every time when consulting. In my opinion, the strength of the mast is insufficient for the total number of users.A 2nd village within municipality of RoggelA beautiful recration environment with all facilities for all tastes. I have to say that if you don't want to be under acorn fire in the fall, you shouldn't stay at the Zomerhof. We were there with two children. The paths there are too far. The 11 year old was simply bored. The indoor areas were designed for smaller children.... And in the Plaza it also says up to 10 years. The water play area is only accessible by ticket. This means that you CANNOT GET INTO THE SWIMMING POOL for the next hour. The swimming pool is beautifully laid out and was also decorated for the season. The sanitary facilities ... well.... probably only cleaned during the week. Dirt on the ceilings etc. And what bothered us the most: the DOOR was always open. In the small toilet house it was constantly OPEN and CLOSED at night and it rattled a lot. What a shame!!! Some of our fellow campers brushed their teeth in the sink, others cleaned the drive-up wedges... Not great. There are washing machines on the site. 18.15 our laundry was locked up when we wanted to pick it up. Fraz at reception pointed out opening times. It said 7 PM !!!! All in all ... we had nice days... but the place won't see us again. We couldn't understand the hype about the campsite. There are also no cooking facilities for campers.Automatisk oversat.

These pitches are very large, especially as the car is parked separately. However, these parking spaces are also used illegally by other guests, so you sometimes had to search for a while. The pitch itself was not mowed when we arrived and was also quite... dirty. The large lake marked on the site map (with a rowing boat pictogram) is only accessible from the public road and is overgrown except for a few fishing spots and therefore unusable. The second lake, together with the wave pool and the indoor pool, is secured by a high fence. The entrance gates are also at the exits, so you may have to wait ten minutes. The three gates themselves are very narrow; only one person can get through at a time. Boats, children's trolleys etc. have to be thrown/handed over the fence. Disaster! The oak processionary moth is a big issue. We have unfortunately seen a lot of "nests". We therefore do not recommend staying at this campsite in May/June.Automatisk oversat.- Jana S.June 2019PositiveMany game optionsNegativInfestation with the oak processionary mothUnfortunately never again....We had booked a long weekend in the park and then had an agonizing two weeks... Unfortunately, the oak processionary moth had taken up residence in the park. The park can't be held responsible for this - but the way it was dealt with was negligent and dangerous: when we came to the information desk suffering... from an itchy rash, they immediately knew where it came from. But instead of warning their guests with signs and cordoning off the affected areas (the caterpillars were mainly at the swimming lake), they invoked a natural phenomenon for which they were not responsible. In view of the fact that there were many children and babies in the park, we consider this unacceptable! The hairs of the caterpillar can also lead to breathing difficulties etc. Due to the lack of control, the park will probably continue to endanger its visitors in the coming years... We were lucky and "only" had a rash - but even that was bad and had to be treated with cortisone.Automatisk oversat.
