We had lovely days on the site over Easter.
Many pitches were not accessible due to the weather. But we were told this as soon as we arrived. So we chose something and it was great. The pitch is in a sheltered location. We didn't notice much of the wind at... all. Everything was clean during our stay. The only thing we didn't like was that the shower rooms were virtually unheated. That was quite refreshing. Unfortunately, the door was open all day. Otherwise we had a very nice time here. We already knew the place. You can play mini golf, the beach is not far away and camping here is certainly more idyllic than on the mass site in Lakolk. There are still trees and nature here. The heathland area borders directly on the site, where there are also small paths for walking. The site is also suitable for children. There is a nice playground with bouncy cushions. The campsite is in a great location. In the middle of the countryside and surrounded only by meadows and heathland. The beach is easily accessible by bike or 10 minutes by car. 2 playgrounds, 1 for smaller children and one for slightly older children with a new bouncy castle... as the other one was broken.
The barrier system at the entrance was equipped with license plate recognition. The rabbits at the entrance are no longer there, and the dog bag stands have been removed, except for one at the entrance, which was empty.

I was very disappointed with the sanitary facilities.
Apart from a few new toilet seats, a washbasin and a urinal, little has been done here in recent years. The wooden ceilings are rotting and broken and everything looks like it's from the 80s.
There could definitely be some investment here.

Driving to the site, choosing a pitch and checking in later worked well. The free choice of pitches meant that the guests were well distributed.
The sanitary facilities were functional and well maintained. I was bothered by the video surveillance in parts of the sanitary building.
The small store at the entrance has the most important things on offer. Unfortunately, we did not experience the hospitality. In a few words 'search for yourself'. With a long trailer of over 15 m, this was a challenge as the bends are tight. The choice of pitch was good, as there were plenty of free pitches and so a good pitch could be found.

Good starting point for exploring the island and huge beaches. Ideal for families, surfers and kiters.NegativWash house and sanitary facilities in the HS reach the limits of their capacity and hygiene. WLAN not available everywhere.Camping the relaxed wayThe Rømø Family Campsite offers a good base for campers and tenters to explore the island. There are usually free pitches, except on event weekends (Beach Sailing Championships, Römö Classic Motordays, etc.. / please google dates beforehand). The rental cabins should be requested by reservation before... arrival.
The pitches are supplied with electricity and offer sufficient space. All pitches are on grass, the rows of pitches are separated from each other by hedges, trees or bushes (good windscreen). Suitable for tents, caravans and mobile homes, only a few permanent campers. The paths are graveled. Fresh water supply only via canisters at various tapping points scattered throughout the site. Mobile homes are supplied behind the wash house at the waste disposal station.
In the high season or at peak times, the capacity of the large wash house reaches its limits. Careless campers do the rest.
Large playground, rental go-karts, large bouncy bubble, mini golf, safe site environment even for small children.
The campsite management is relaxed and multilingual. Bake store and small store available, with sausage stand.
All in all, we like to come here with the caravan as a starting point to go beach sailing on the south beach.
The ferry crossing to Sylt/List is also easy to make from here with bicycles. You can buy fresh fish at the ferry port.

You can relax here because it's nice and quiet. You can go for a nice walk from the site and you can even walk to the beach in an hour. The owner is very nice and runs the site in an exemplary manner. It was also good to be able to mark the pitch as reserved during the day and therefore leave it. If you want, you can drive to Lakolk on the beach and return in the evening. The staff were super friendly... and helpful! We didn't like the location quite as much, it was rather out of the way. The site was not fully booked but was very busy. Cleaning once a day is simply not enough given the number of people. Especially... because there is only one guardhouse. In addition, only lukewarm water comes out of the pipes at peak times. Improvements should be made here urgently. If we disregard this point of criticism, I can only say that the campsite is really great. Lots of games for children - mini golf and a super nice welcome. There was plenty of space. The pitches are divided into rows with trees. We could leave in the evening for a fee. You can go for a wonderful hike behind the site. The site is family-friendly. There are go-karts for hire, bouncy cushions, playgrounds,... ball courts, children of all ages had a great time here. The sanitary facilities were okay. - Manuela S.August 20172 beautiful weeks in 5 person cabin with 2 children 7 and 3 years oldWe stayed at the campsite from 30.07.-13.08.2017 in a cabin for 5 people with shower/WC. We chose this site because we wanted it to be quiet and offer play facilities for children. The proximity to the beach, as with the campsite in Lakolk, was not important to us as we had planned to go to the beaches... by car anyway (like everyone else). There are two playgrounds, mini golf, Kettcars for hire, a small playroom with Lego, a small store with a bread roll service, etc. In the first week there was bread on a stick every two to three days, in the second week only on Saturday. The cabins for 5 people are still quite new and well equipped, with a "living room" with table, sofa, kitchenette and TV. From there it goes into the two small bedrooms, on the other side to WC/shower. The kitchenette has a 2-burner stove and refrigerator and the necessary equipment for cooking. A bed linen/towel package can be rented. Final cleaning of the hut can be booked, but you can also do it yourself. Vacuum cleaner available. The terrace has a table and 5 chairs. You must bring your own clothes horse. In the first week the place was quite well occupied, but not too noisy overall. In our second week it became emptier and emptier, probably because the school vacations in Denmark were over. The opening hours of the store were already restricted in our second week, but were still ok. The sausage stand, which previously offered chips and sausages from the evening, had been removed. Also due to the weather, many spontaneous vacationers probably didn't make the trip to Römö. In other years, it was probably already fuller on the square at that time. Note on the noise at Whitsun. It is always very noisy at Whitsun. Many (German) youth groups populate the open camping meadow over Whitsun. Party all day and all night. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you shouldn't come at Whitsun. We didn't experience any noise pollution during our two weeks. Of course, the children were outside for a long time, but it was quiet after 10 pm at the latest. Our children quickly made friends and felt very comfortable on the site. For children, the island offers a beach that is partly accessible right down to the water's edge (watch out for low tide, winds and air currents), sand with lots of shells, especially in the more secluded parts of the beach where there are whole fields of shells. You can go horse riding with a guided pony (from the age of 2) or even as a beginner on a guided tour for children from the age of 6 from near the special beach. For a longer excursion, you can take the car ferry to Sylt. There is a swimming pool just over the causeway to the mainland in Skaerbaek. There is a row of stores in Lakolk and more stores and restaurants in Havneby. There are also a few hidden geocaches on the island. A nice change of pace for the children.Automatisk oversat.

From 8:30 in the morning until late into the night, disco at its finest. WACKEN, on the other hand, is a laughing stock. The only thing that helped was fleeing all day. The fact that this was probably the case on all campsites on Rømø was no consolation. The sanitary... facilities were indescribably dirty, alcohol was flowing freely and drug paraphernalia was scattered all over the site. Tolerated by the operator.
