Rules on hours are not observed : 1- people are free to enter and leave the campsite at any time of the night or early morning . 2- children at the playground even at 7:30 in the morning (of course, here it is also up to the common sense of parents ) 3-in the pool there are signs forbidding diving and bringing inflatables but no one respects them.A nice vacationThe campground is beautiful , well organized and served , we will definitely return ! This time we spent two weeks here and didn't regret it. At this time of year, the site is not overcrowded and we had a free choice of pitches. The pitches, whether standard or comfort pitches, are mostly large enough. The campsite is very... well maintained and the central sanitary block with its spacious showers including washbasin, shelf and bench, which resemble a small bathroom, is simply great. Use of the natural bathing pond, the outdoor and indoor pool was possible at any time. Unfortunately, a burst water pipe in the second week restricted bathing. I would also like to emphasize the very friendly and always helpful team at the reception. Even now in September, at least one event was offered every day (hiking or cycling tour etc.). Also worth mentioning is the free use of the Schluga lido on Lake Pressegger See, where there is also a dog beach for camping guests with dogs. The dog walking facilities at the campsite are also good so that we never had to walk our dog on the campsite, which I find terrible anyway. Our dog also enjoyed the agility course. All in all, we spent a very relaxing and varied vacation at the campsite and in the Hermagor region. We would love to come back.Automatisk oversat.

It was very full, which is of course to be expected in high season. However, the sanitary block, which was close to our pitch, was often unable to cope with the crowds (WC...). Almost all... the sanitary blocks are getting on in years and were not always very clean, which was certainly also due to the large number of users.
Unfortunately there is no longer a restaurant, only take-away pizza, the store only has a small selection and is completely closed two days a week.
The street can be heard loudly in the lower squares, unfortunately also in the early hours of the morning.
The Nassfeld Card, which is included and offers many discounts, is very positive.

The adjoining restaurant offers a very varied and... regional range of food and drinks, so that you don't even think about going out to eat. The friendliness/helpfulness of the staff at reception and in the restaurant is second to none.

I was shocked to receive a newsletter last year during my summer vacation that the Schluga family had sold the two campsites and wanted to concentrate on their apartment buildings.
We had been to this beautiful campsite many times since... 1978 and were always very satisfied, especially with the warmth and commitment of the entire Schluga family and the staff. It was not for nothing that this campsite was always awarded 5 stars by the ADAC back then...
Before the EuroParcs Group, which specializes in vacation parks with rental accommodation, also "turns the beautiful site in Hermagor upside down", I really wanted to go there again.
The site is still beautiful, even though there have been many changes in recent years, including in terms of rental accommodation and permanent campers. But this is limited.
What surprised me (and many other guests) was that the site was incredibly empty at the beginning of the main season. That didn't used to be the case. Nevertheless, we were told that everything was fully booked...
We had already booked in January, according to the new 2022 price list, and should have paid an average daily price of €62.50. We actually ended up paying €70.45...
Nevertheless, there is plenty on offer for the children, from a really nice playground to an indoor playhouse etc. Only the ponies, which were still the main attraction on the site in my childhood days, are now carted here from Lake Faak to be ridden....very strange...
As mentioned at the beginning, unfortunately it's not what it used to be. The location is and remains beautiful, with a great mountain panorama and a great bathing lake with its own "beach section".
But I don't know if I'll come back again.

You rather had the impression that you had to apologize for coming.Vacation with friends......once upon a time. Arrive and feel at home - that's what we were used to from the Schluga family for over 20 years. Even if we arrived without booking, there was always something possible, whether for one night or a week. Especially at our favorite lakeside campsite. Now the bitter disappointment.... Due to the takeover of a large consortium, the focus is now on mobile homes and so there are only 30-40 of the former 200 pitches available for campers. These were supposedly all fully booked. We were referred to the second site directly in Hermagor. Once there, there was supposedly nothing free either. When I told the lady that we had been sent with the statement that they still had places, there were still two free places. During our evening round with the dog we were a bit surprised because the fully booked pitch had a lot of free pitches. According to the price list, electricity is included in the price. However, we were given an electricity meter when we registered, with the explanation that so many campers charge e-scooters and bikes and electricity is very expensive. We paid €63.20 for a normal pitch for a motorhome, 6 meters with 2 people and a dog. We are happy to pay one or two euros more if it suits us.
The restaurant was closed and wouldn't be open again until the middle of the week. Spontaneous eating is not possible because it is very popular and therefore completely overcrowded, so it is better to make a reservation. There is also a store with fresh bread rolls. However, I was also politely told that it is better not to sleep too late (the early bird catches the worm) because otherwise there might not be anything left. I'm sorry but I know it differently and that's why this was our last vacation here in Hermagor. We believe that these are still the initial difficulties that will settle over time. Unfortunately, the family feeling from the Schluga family no longer exists.
The team in the inn is unbeatable in terms of friendliness and warmth.... The menu offers some delicious dishes. If the menu is not enough, special requests are always considered and fulfilled.

The Easter activity program has been reduced to a minimum. It used to be the highlight next to New Year's Eve. Alpin Spa is just a joke. No cleaning, no supervision. Guests behave like savages. The pitches are well equipped and also ideal for winter camping. Beautifully embedded in the mountains. Due to its proximity to Italy and Slovenia, it is also well suited as a detour. It's also nice that the site offers hiking tours and fitness activities. Sanitary facilities are clean.NegativMany campers are concerned that the sale of the site to the Euro Parks camping chain will lead to a decline in service. Also that the site will be reduced in size for vacation campers by building even more mobile homes. Conclusion: A family-run campsite is simply run with more passion. It's also nice that there are lots of facilities for dogs,
Dog shower, exercise area and agility park.
The campsite offers a nice sauna area, indoor pool and heated outdoor pool as well as a swimming pond.
The pitches... are well equipped and also suitable for larger motorhomes and caravans.
The highway is a little annoying.
And Camping Hermagor Schluga has been sold and is now called Euro Parks Hermagor.
One can only hope that the service, cleanliness and friendliness will continue under the new management.
And will not only be filled with mobile homes. So we stayed in the country and booked at Schluga Camping Hermagor. The site is great, clean, the pitches are quite large and we felt very comfortable for 2 weeks.
There are lots of leisure activities, hikes with or without... a guide, mountain bike tours with or without a guide, the Presseggersee is a smaller but all the more pleasant bathing lake. At the campsite there is an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and a natural pond for swimming. The restaurant is very good and the service very friendly. The reception staff were very friendly with us. And the dog also got his money's worth. Dog meadow, Agiltiyplatz....

But that wasn't always the caseBeautiful, modern campsite, deductions at Sanitär WestWe were satisfied, from check-in to the activities offered, host, pool, indoor pool, etc. everything was great. The boss often shows himself and seeks to talk to the guests.
We were all the more surprised that the modern style conveyed on the website probably stopped at the back of the site where we... were staying. In Sanitary West there were cobwebs in the showers and some dried dirt on the wall tiles. Mirrors and washbasin taps were not cleaned often enough. Soap was often empty in the WC, there was a sometimes unpleasant smell.... Not good at all, especially in this particular summer. More emphasis should be placed on more frequent cleaning or more precise cleaning. The other sanitary facilities on the site seem cleaner, but I can't say for sure.

Our one-year-old liked the animals and the playground. Other children's program is... only for ages four and up.
Unfortunately, there were no waste bins on the entire site.
The pool was great, but had algae on the overflow grids (indoor) and in the toddler pool.
