D.July 2024Positive- free WLAN - Shower for as long as you like - lakeside locationNegativ- Pitches narrow and tightly packed - 6 (+2) WC per gender is simply not enough - Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired - Full garbage cans next to the entrances of the sanitary facilities - Loudness from early morning hours - Hotel with party music and trafficNo place to come to restUnfortunately....
We spent too long on this site at the end of our trip to Sweden.
If you are looking for peace and quiet you are wrong, if we hadn't booked and paid for 4 nights we would have left immediately. There was a party in the hotel, it was loud and there was also traffic during the night. The... barrier to the campsite is open all day, it is only closed at rest time.
The sanitary building is not nice, everything floats in the shower area, water and dirt, humid air because there is no exhaust. There were simply too few toilets... they weren't cleaned in the evening either, only the paper was emptied and refilled. At least there were 3 sinks under a roof. On the first morning we were woken up early by inconsiderate fellow campers whose children were playing "catch" loudly on the site or actually howling all day. Then on the second morning, a garbage truck arrived at 7am, reversing and waking up the whole site as it honked its horn loudly. From then on, the site came to life....
The pitches are narrow and very close together. We have never experienced anything like this in Sweden before. The lake is great for swimming. However, the surrounding area doesn't have that many interesting things to offer, except perhaps an Ikea museum, if you're interested. We did not feel comfortable and wish all guests a nice vacation here ....Automatisk oversat. - Heike P.June 2024Positivedirectly on the lake Small, beautiful natural campsite Clean and well-kept sanitary facilities Pitches a bit chaotic and rather uneven, but that adds to the charm of the siteNegativuneven pitchesNature camping directly on the lakeSmall, charming nature campsite directly on the lake - if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for youAutomatisk oversat.
- Jörg D.July 2023PositiveLocation, restaurant, canoe and boat hireNegativold sanitary facilities, unkemptPlace with a good locationThe site stands out with its location on the lake and for activities in the area.
The students at reception did a good job. We would particularly like to emphasize the unbureaucratic change of the previously booked pitch (location not suitable for our caravan) as very positive.
The restaurant
was also... worth a visit.
On the downside, we noticed the old sanitary facilities, which were also inadequately cleaned.
There were problems with the hot water supply, so that on 2 days only cold water was available.
The kitchen is too small when fully occupied.Automatisk oversat. - Götz W.August 2021Positive- Peace and quiet - Location - Near the IKEA MuseumNegativ- Sanitary facilities are getting on in years, should have been cleaned more oftenBeautiful placeWonderful CP. No pitches, plenty of shade, good restaurant, lots of leisure activities. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years and should be cleaned more often.Automatisk oversat.
- Hartmut B.August 2021PositiveFriendliness of the staff, the location by the lake.NegativSanitary facilities are getting on in years, the SP are very uneven, the CP is partly dark.O.K.We were excited about the campsite because of the positive reviews. The positives: the location on the lake is great; the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant at the campsite is good. Criticism: The sanitary facilities at the campsite were very clean but dated. We were able... to choose an SP, but many pitches were very uneven and required wedges. Some parts of the campsite were very dark due to the trees. SAT reception is therefore only partially possible. If you want to go on bike tours, take a boat out on the lake or visit the IKEA museum, this is a good starting point. We only felt comfortable on the campsite to a limited extent and left after one night. In principle, there is nothing wrong with the campsite.Automatisk oversat.
- Timm S.June 2020Positivefree W-LAN, beautiful view of the lake with great sunsets, large forest area nearby for biking, clean sanitary facilities, large lake good for long canoe trips, still close to the city, very friendly staff, small kiosk, nice CP layout (not so heavily parceled out)Negativlarge children's playground in the immediate vicinity (of course an advantage for families ;))Great place! We had a great time at the Sjöstugans CP. It wasn't quiet because you could hear lots of children at the large bathing area during the day, but we were undisturbed further back on the "headland". The staff were really friendly and looked after us very well in all respects! The site is beautifully laid out and doesn't have any "standard pitches". We had some beautiful sunsets, a fun canoe trip and cool bike trails in the area!Automatisk oversat.
- Sigrid K.June 2020PositiveSuper nice service, great restaurant, very nice location on the lake, high recreational value with canoe rental and sauna. Great (public) beach with a huge children's playground, beach volleyball and swimming pontoons. Nevertheless, very quiet due to the individual layout. Clean service buildings with everything you need to feel comfortable here, even in a tent.NegativIt is often windy and occasionally you can hear the train in the distanceGreat natural place by the lakeThe course is left in its natural state, without precise boundaries under trees. It blends harmoniously into the landscape on different levels. Large pitches that are not precisely delimited. Many with a view of the lake. Wonderful sunsets, great restaurant, super nice service, totally clean wash house.... Small kiosk, well-equipped kitchen. Everything you need for bathing fun - and still quiet! We came back here at the end of our trip because we liked it so much.Automatisk oversat.
- Andreas S.June 2019PositiveLocation, location, locationNegativToo many GermansHeadland in Lake MöckelnWe knew the site from previous trips and were here this time at the beginning of June. The campsite is very popular and, with an estimated 100 pitches, fills up quickly even in the low season. We received a very friendly welcome in German. Contrary to previous experiences, the pitches were allocated... without exception and we were accompanied directly to our pitch by a member of staff. The campsite is located on a narrow spit of land with lots of large trees providing shade. A view of the lake is unavoidable and most of the pitches are in the front row facing the water. The ground is grass, sometimes a little thin, but reasonably level. There is a small store for the essentials in the reception with adjoining restaurant. Bread rolls are available from 8 a.m. without pre-ordering. Fishing licenses are also available, as well as boat and canoe hire. On the subject of peace and quiet: a railroad line runs nearby and there is a public bathing area a little further along the shore. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the site. Once again, we felt very comfortable and it certainly wasn't the last time.Automatisk oversat.
- Marcus O.July 2018PositiveFriendly staff, location by the lakeNegativToo crowded, too narrow, typical town squareFor us just a crowded place to pass throughThe place was very full, caravans so close together that you could just walk between them. Sanitary was ok and clean, reception was very friendly. So many Germans there that the menu advertised schnitzel in all variations. This was not our Sweden and we left after one night.Automatisk oversat.
- René S.August 2017PositiveBeautiful idyll, nice multilingual staff, very well-kept place, close to Älmhult and still in the countryside, pricingNegativThe lack of parcelling could lead to problems at full capacityAn insider tip for us in the home town of IKEAOne of the surprises during our vacation in Sweden in 2017. I chose the site more by chance because we were not far from an elk park and the website promised that you could pick your own spot as there were no pitches. That's how it was and everyone found a spot for themselves. However, I can understand... the rating below, when it is really high season and everything is criss-crossed, then it will certainly be tight. When we were there, however, there was still a corner to be found everywhere despite the high occupancy rate. If your own power cable is too short, you can borrow cable drums free of charge! There is an excellent restaurant with lunch, coffee/cake and evening menu. A breakfast buffet is also served there in the morning and fresh bread rolls are available. Canoe/kayak rental, a small, beautifully landscaped mini-golf course, a sauna boat and a jacuzzi can be hired. In addition, the friendly, multilingual and extremely knowledgeable staff and the almost affordable price were the deciding factors for us to stay a little longer instead of one night! The sanitary facilities are also really okay, showers cost 5 crowns, as is usual almost everywhere in the south. The cleanliness was also absolutely fine.Automatisk oversat.
- D. J.June 2017PositiveConvenient for transit.NegativCluttered with too many caravans; Poor site organization; Unrest caused by company vehicles arriving and departing from the accommodated construction workers;Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We (a couple) stayed at the campsite for one night at the beginning of June. We had actually intended to stay a little longer, but it was one of the worst places for us during our tour of Sweden and we left the next day. The campsite didn't have much in common with the glossy brochure. Now to the criticism.... Despite arriving in the early afternoon, it was almost impossible to find a pitch for our camper van due to the free choice of pitches. The campers already present had spread out so much that twice the number could have been comfortably accommodated. A little more care on the part of the site operator could certainly have worked wonders here. In addition, the site was tightly packed with rental caravans for construction workers, so there wasn't much space left for tourists. Due to these rental caravans and the arrival and departure of the construction workers with their company vehicles, there was a lot of traffic until late in the evening and corresponding unrest on the site. In some places, the power supply was only possible with very long cables. The sanitary facilities smelled quite unpleasant in the afternoon and were only in an acceptable condition the next morning after they had been cleaned. The adjoining restaurant and the friendliness of the staff must be praised here.Automatisk oversat.
- Sönke P.May 2017PositivePlace on the water, super cheapNegativUrinal channelGreat place, we'll be back!First of all, we used this campsite almost exclusively to stay overnight in our own caravan and for personal hygiene. We only bought bread rolls in the kiosk and didn't use the catering facilities. We can therefore only rate this campsite to a very limited extent. The staff were super nice at all times.... The sanitary facilities would only get a few stars in Germany because of the urinal channel, but because it was our first time in Sweden and we assume that it is normal here, we don't want to be so strict. The water in the showers was always hot, the time interval for showering was quite sufficient and the sanitary facilities were always clean. There is a washing machine, microwave, stove, ovens and ATTENTION a free industrial dishwasher that does the dishes in 3 minutes. One drawback was that we couldn't catch a TV picture with our 40cm satellite dish. However, with a larger dish and in a different location (without so many trees) it should not be a problem. We were on the site in the low season and had our pitch without a reservation close to the toilets and right next to the playground, beach and lake. A stroke of luck for us. If you are looking for total peace and quiet, you should look for a pitch at the end of the small site, to the right of the registration desk. But the site is perfect for families with children. There were a few fitters staying on the site in rented caravans, but they were really nice and quiet. Apart from the fact that they set off for work early in the morning in their VW buses. There were fresh bread rolls from the store every day. Because we've only had bad experiences with WiFi on campsites, we didn't even book it here. The network coverage of our mobile phone provider was perfect. We also got ourselves a Swedish prepaid card from Comviq. As a tip, you can get 10Gb of data here for just 200 kroner (approx. 20€) - something we could only dream of in Germany. The town center is not very far. There is a lot to see in the area and Sweden is amazing. This doesn't really belong in the campsite rating, but our highlight was the elk safari in Markaryd. In conclusion, all we can say is "We'll be back!"Automatisk oversat.
- Jo P.August 2016PositiveFantastically beautiful location directly on the lakeNegativCleanliness in the showers etc.Fantastically quiet locationInfrastructure in moderate condition, but the beautiful location of the site more than makes up for this. - Torsten s.June 2016PositiveA modern place with a beautiful view of the lake.NegativUnfortunately a bit noisy when we were there.A typical town squareA beautifully situated site almost directly in Älmhult. From there you can walk directly into the town via paths in the park. There is a friendly welcome. There are no demarcated pitches, so it can sometimes happen that Germans arriving late think they can park their camper right next to other campers... without keeping the minimum distance of 4m required in Sweden. When we were on the site, it was unfortunately a bit noisy, as the city's children's holiday program was probably taking place there. As a result, the first parents arrived by car at 6:30am. Some of them dropped off their children with the engine still running. This vacation program also meant that the single-lane road to the campsite was very busy with parents arriving and departing. What was a bit unusual was that you don't get your bread rolls in the store but in the restaurant. The wash houses are quite modern. Access is only possible with a card, which is also used to pay for the showers.Automatisk oversat.

Dejlig plads, super flot natur.
- Mike-Björn R.August 2015Beautiful days in SwedenWe had a great week fishing at Möckeln, but it was harder than we thought at first. After 3 days we got the hang of it and caught a lot of perch and zander, the facility is very clean and well maintained, sanitary facilities were never overcrowded and always very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and also speak German. Canoes can be hired at any time but you should book a rowing boat/fishing boat in advance.Automatisk oversat.
- Familie G.August 2015PositiveVery nice location in the middle of nature by the lakeNegativToo few and not clean sanitary facilitiesBeautiful campsite right on the lake in the middle of natureThe site is beautifully situated, directly on the lake, very quiet, free choice of pitches (no predetermined pitches). Canoe hire. Bathing jetty. Restaurant. Sanitary facilities much too small for so many people, therefore not clean and waiting time.Automatisk oversat.
- Harald B.July 2015PositiveVery nice location, always clean, absolutely quietNegativSlightly uneven pitches, satellite reception disturbed by the treesNice and quiet place away from the hustle and bustleWe stayed at this site with advance notice and reservation, unfortunately only for 3 nights. The entire staff was very friendly and our lack of knowledge of Swedish was no problem. Our pitch right on the lake was a stroke of luck (reserved). The restaurant and bread delivery were faultless, as were the... sanitary facilities. Due to the public bathing beach, access to the very clean sanitary facilities only with a code card, I think that's fine. Unfortunately, the water supply and toilet and service water disposal are a bit far away, but we have time on vacation. To align the caravan precisely, you need wheel chocks because of the unevenness. W-LAN and satellite reception partly limited or impossible.Automatisk oversat.
