Mick v.August 2021ΘετικάNothingΑρνητικάBasicly everythingMost horrible camping service everWe arrived at this place and asked for a place to pitch our small tent. They recommended the open tent spots. Looked good on the map, so we paid around 50,- euro (which for us was overpriced already). We went to the spot and found out that this 'open tent spots' were basically the few meters behind the... caravans. To get there was almost impossible and to believe that this was the actual spot was extremely disappointing. The fact that it was next to a ventilation center with loud noise only made it worse. Probably this was the worst spot on a camping I have ever seen. We went back to the reception to say this isn't right for us and that we will not stay at the campsite that night, getting our money (that we gave 10 minutes earlier) back wasn't possible. I had to fill in a form and wait 6(!) weeks before getting an answer. Although we didn't stay at the campsite, we received an e-mail that we won't get our money back due to blablabla... This was my worst camping bureaucracy experience I have ever had and I fully blame the campsite for that. My advise would be to never stay here. We eventually stayed wildcamping around the lake, for free.- Christoph A.July 2020Θετικάclose to the lakeΑρνητικάovercrowded noisyNot for familiesAs a family, we wanted to camp on a lake with a sandy beach and booked a pitch at Camping de la Menthue in advance and even paid for it. When we arrived, the whole tent area was so overcrowded that we didn't even get a number for our tent - and that in times of Corona. We then "squeezed" our tent into... a gap between all the other tents.
It was only later that we realized that most of the other guests were teenagers who had been partying half the night with plenty of alcohol and a corresponding noise level.

Just a recommendation.Beautiful place with its own beachOn a tour of western Switzerland with two friends from our Ape club, we visited this campsite. The reception was very friendly. Despite the high occupancy rate, every effort was made to find a pitch. There are a large number of permanent tenants on the site, so the pitches for short-stayers tend to be... a bit remote and not clearly parceled out. If you don't like it when other campers walk across your "plot", you've come to the wrong place. As we were traveling with somewhat special vehicles, we were again visited by many curious people, which we are used to. So we had no problem with that. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, a heavy downpour turned the site into a quagmire and lake landscape at short notice. However, as it was a natural meadow, the standing water disappeared very quickly. So you have to be careful if you pitch your tent in a hollow. Despite the unfortunate weather conditions and dirty shoes, the sanitary facilities were very clean, which shows that they are not only checked but also cleaned if necessary. All in all, a beautiful and well-maintained site with adequate catering facilities. First we had to wait at the reception 25 minutes before a pretty kind guy came to walk us 20 meters to our spot. We were surprised that everyone was staring at us as if we were ALIENS!!! The staff on the other hand (lady at reception) was impossible, arrogant, condescending and cheeky. She answered questions reluctantly and incompletely. The sanitary facilities are dirty, old and smelly. The positive... thing about the campsite is the beach, which is beautiful and well maintained. We were surprised to find a new guide. The lady at reception gave us a number plate and said we could choose a pitch ourselves. While we were setting up our tent, the new groundsman came by three times and watched us. In the evening around 5.00... pm he came to our campsite with guests and said in French that we had to vacate the pitch which was reserved but "tout de suite" !!!! For my 16-year-old son, I had to pay the adult price despite the reference to the list. We smelled urine when we just arrived our site!!! And the smell from the drain was another nightmare, which was so bad in the rush hours like in the morning and at night. Other than these, it was really loud at night, as the people were chatting until midnight! It was not possible to sleep!
