No direct access to the lake, only via the beachVery nice campsiteThe campsite is in a very quiet location by the Elbsee lake. Whether cycling, hiking or relaxing by the lake - everything is possible here. Very well-kept sanitary facilities, friendly staff. The price-performance ratio is also good here. Bread roll service is also offered and for the small appetite... in the evening there are vending machines where you can get something. Drinks are also available from the vending machine.

The site is undoubtedly great and very clean. But why it can identify itself as a 5-star site on its homepage is a mystery to me. We were given a nice large pitch slightly elevated on the edge of the forest with a great view of the site.
The wash houses are close by and very convenient.
After we had a flat tire on our first outing on the bike, we were... helped immediately and a new tube was fitted in five minutes. That was really great!
We enjoyed using the water treading pool and of course the swimming area by the lake.
All in all, a successful weekend.

The pitches are large enough for a caravan, car, two bikes, a balance bike and a bike trailer. The gravel on most of the pitches is a great drainage if it rains for a long time. There was also enough space for the barbecue and... for the little ones to play. The sanitary facilities are no longer the newest but were clean at all times. The playground is huge and the children could play for hours without getting bored. There is a small kiosk that offers everything the camper needs, the products are mostly regional and partly organic. The whole site is surrounded by a fence that is really closed! There are several entrance doors through which you can only get in with a key. So the little ones can't just escape and not just anyone can get onto the site. Certainly part of the poor rating is due to the Corona period. But everyone has to go through it, including the guests.

Unfortunately we had rain most of the time - but we can't blame the site for that ;-)
The site is divided into different areas - fortunately we had a pitch with a grass surface, further up the pitches were mostly gravel, which I don't think... is so great. It is therefore advisable to ask where the reserved pitch is located when reserving a pitch.
The sanitary facilities in the main building were always clean and also relatively modern - what annoyed me personally were the automatic light and water switches - both set far too short for my taste and the light in particular was unfortunate in that you have to step into the hallway to turn the light on again via the motion detector when it gets dark.
The supply of breakfast rolls and the restaurant a few hundred meters away were good - a real recommendation!

Swimming lake nearby, I think it's ok that there is a charge, but there is a dog ban (at other lakes in the area the dog is allowed on the pitch in the lido), so unfortunately a visit here fell flat for us as campers.
There is a lot to explore in the area, whether on foot or... by bike. Many larger towns such as Füssen are about 40 km away.
The campsite is quiet and clean. We were able to rent a bathroom.

The site is dominated by permanent campers, but they are not all there at the same time, which brings a lot of peace and quiet to the campsite.
It is important to know that it is a campsite BEHIND a lake and not ON... a lake. Access to the lake is only possible for a fee at the lido. Otherwise it is blocked by reeds and vegetation. The name Camping Elbsee suggests otherwise.
Furthermore, WLAN access for a fee is no longer appropriate these days.
All in all, however, a site that can be recommended. Had reserved a pitch for 2 weeks and would have liked to have had a rental bathroom. Unfortunately there were none available at the time. On request when we arrived, we were given a rental... bathroom for almost 2 weeks. Minor complaints in the rental bathroom were rectified very promptly. Our pitch was large enough and parceled out. The cell phone and Wifi reception was very good, as was DVBT-2 reception. Hikes can be made directly from the campsite. The restaurant by the lake offers delicious regional dishes at reasonable prices. Would have liked to use the wellness area, unfortunately not possible because of Corona.
