Not too big a campsite.

Unfortunately there is no bus stop opposite the campsite.
Small but nice
Spent one night on transit at this site. Clean and quiet place with nice staff. On-site restaurant and bakery. There is a swimming pool for hot days. Unfortunately, the bus stop opposite the campsite has been removed, so you have to walk about 10 minutes into town for excursions by public transport.

A place not just for an overnight stay
Camping Gotthardo is the first campsite after the Gotthard tunnel in Ticino.
Ideal for a stopover on the way to Italy. Due to the many hiking possibilities, the campsite is also suitable for a longer stay.
The campsite has two sanitary facilities. An older one with partly coin-operated showers. The men's... WC had no hooks for jackets etc. Toilet paper was available and the sanitary facilities were clean.
The second sanitary facility was renovated at the beginning of May 2022.
Our dog (Golden Retriever) was warmly welcomed, as were we.
The campsite has a bakery and a restaurant, both with good products.
We will definitely visit CP Gotthardo again.

Older sanitary facilities.
As a stopover in the direction of Italy
Close to the highway, ideal as a stopover. Car noise barely perceptible. Next to a stream with its rushing....beautiful. Sanitary facilities probably from the 80s, but clean. Outdoor sink, so only recommended from spring to fall. With a large caravan up the small path on the left and immediately left again onto the meadow next to the stream. No problem here as we were the only ones. Otherwise it would have been tight.

Good public transport links: train station 40min walk, post bus (1x/hour) 10min away.
Without much interest
A small campsite of little interest, other than a stopover on the Gotthard road. Please note: there are no restaurants or stores within a 25-minute walk, and most importantly, unbelievably... the restaurant kitchen closes at 9pm sharp! We were greeted with this news at reception, even though we hadn't eaten all day. Good luck to southern tourists who won't even think of eating before 9pm...

Familiar place with a good starting point for excursions
Very friendly staff. You feel well looked after. Relatively quiet despite the proximity to the highway. The sound of the stream nearby is pleasant. The bakery with its delicacies is really a "poem". The restaurant can also be recommended. The post bus stop is a 5-minute walk away. The place offers a... good starting point for hikes in the Leventina. And from here there are many sights. Due to its proximity to the highway, it is also suitable for a stopover in the south or north. You pay extra for hot water for showers.
