Good and cheap
LE RUET 50590 REGNEVILLE SUR MER This was by far the cheapest campsite on our vacation in France this year. We paid EUR 12.60 for a large pitch (sufficient for a 5x6m folding caravan and car next to it) including 10Amp electricity. The campsite reception was only manned for a few hours a day, sometimes... not at all at weekends. You simply drive to the campsite, choose a pitch yourself and set up. If someone is at reception, you can register and pay. The pitches that are reserved have small slips, so you shouldn't set up there. There are actually two campsites about 150m away. We were on the smaller one, closer to the end of the village. The sanitary facilities there were OK, normal toilets, men's, women's and disabled areas, but the cleaning was very sparse, mostly the guests cleaned themselves (but it worked well, nobody was disgusted). There were practically no tourists, at least foreign ones, apart from us. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, we felt very comfortable. The nearest bakery was within cycling distance and the area was great for cycling, hiking and fishing. The only thing that was not so good was swimming, the water and the beach were full of silt, so you were dirtier after swimming than before ;)
