For campers looking for peace and quiet it is an ideal place, far away from any hustle and bustle, located behind dunes. A short walk through the dunes to the beach, which is not overcrowded. Very suitable for relaxing. A pub with good and inexpensive food. Small playground that is perfectly adequate. Camping between the dunes is possible.

Kempingas geras. Gyvenome amerikietiškame namelyje. Viskas ok. Tinka senjorams ir šeimoms su vaikais. Vietos palapinėms geros, ramybė. Šeimininkas šaunuolis. Trūksta tik parduotuvės, nes artimiausia yra 25 km.

Attention !!!! we were evicted after one night because our place was supposedly reserved by a group. The owner didn't have a word of apology and became increasingly unfriendly. So we stood there with three children and had to dismantle, despite the fact that we had paid for two nights in advance. There... are always large groups partying on the site and it is very noisy, especially at weekends. The sanitary facilities are poor, even by Latvian standards - showers (2 out of 3 only work) are lined with OSB boards. There is no drinking water (nearest store 20 km !!!) - the tap water stinks terribly. Only the pitches on the main square have electricity.

We had planned to stay at the campsite for a day and had chosen the site specifically because we wanted to wash all our clothes. The operator charged us €15 with the promise to wash and dry everything. Nothing worked, we got our laundry back dirty and wet the next day. No solution was offered, no money... back. Instead, the operator became extremely aggressive towards us and asked us to leave the site. We were shocked and cannot recommend the campsite despite its beautiful location...

Beautiful natural campsite, very secluded, very close to the great Baltic Sea beach, where we spent most of our time. In the evenings and in damp conditions (it was raining when we arrived) lots of mosquitoes - you can make a fire to drive them away. For tents and motorhomes, there are always grassy... areas in the forest where you can set up. At night you can hear the sound of the sea ;-) The sanitary facilities are fine, all in wooden buildings - just a natural site. From here, you can easily go on excursions in the surrounding area or enjoy the secluded Baltic Sea beach.

Beautifully situated CP on a meadow in a pine forest. The secluded, wide sandy beach is only 200m away through the dunes. But here they lurk - mosquitoes upon mosquitoes!!! Once we had completed the route, a relaxing day on the beach awaited us. In the evening, the cook surprised us with a variety of... local dishes. There was no menu in the low season. We only knew whether it was pork, poultry or fish. Simply delicious! And the evening beer on the terrace, served by the owner Martin, tasted excellent. There is also a beautiful river in the area where you can go canoeing for several days. Although we are experienced in Scandinavia, there were too many mosquitoes in June - Martin recommended that we come for a canoe trip in late summer next time. There are many worthwhile day trips in the area: several lighthouses, the abandoned spy town of Irbene with its giant telescope, the old Hanseatic town of Ventspils and Cape Kolka. The sanitary facilities are very basic, there is no dishwashing facility in the house (this is particularly bad as in the evening after sunset - it didn't get really dark - the mosquitoes were also present in large numbers on the site. We will visit this campsite again for several days on our next visit to Latvia. All that remains to be said is that the entire campsite team, from the waitress and cook to the couple who run the campsite, are very nice, friendly and welcoming. This is how you want your vacation to be!
