- Ulrich M.September 2023ΘετικάSuper advance information about occupancy through always up-to-date answering machine announcements Uncomplicated check-in Super location in the Upper Danube Valley directly on the DanubeΑρνητικάThe pitches are not parceled out, except for the pitches that are paved. The power connections are sometimes very far away from the pitches, so that some cables simply lie across the pitches, which can lead to tripping hazards at night. Some campers simply have cables that are too short.Beautiful lag and totally uncomplicatedThis was our second time at the Wagenburg. The first time only for one night and now for three nights.
When you call, you get reliable information about occupancy via a constantly updated announcement on the answering machine. You simply drive there when there is space, check in and look for a pitch.... The front row directly on the banks of the Danube is of course very popular and if you want a pitch there you may have to move quickly if one becomes available, but the second row is also really nice. The pitch to the right of the reception building has mature trees, so you can almost always find a shady spot if you want it.
If you need electricity, you should have enough long cables with you, as the power boxes offer a lot of connections, but are also for many pitches (see disadvantages). It didn't bother us as we are self-sufficient in terms of energy.
On Fridays and Saturdays we have tarte flambée from the clay oven, also vegan. Very tasty! Fresh, delicious cakes are also available daily at reception.
You can paddle a kayak or stand-up paddle board on the Danube and, of course, swim in it. There is also a canoe rental not far from the campsite. From there you can paddle down the Danube and then take a shuttle back to the starting point.
The area is great for walking, hiking and cycling - the Danube cycle path runs right past the campsite on the other bank.
Unfortunately the season is coming to an end, but we will definitely be back for a long weekend next year.Αυτόματη μετάφραση. - Karin D.July 2023ΘετικάThe mix of tents, caravans and motorhomes The peace and quiet and the location on the DanubeΑρνητικάUnfortunately no bread roll service Long distances to the shopsIdyllic little squareThis is our second time here at the Wagenburg and we're absolutely thrilled again! This is how camping should be: no booking ages in advance, a good mix of all types of camping, no tightly packed pitches. Lots of cyclists with tents. Thanks to the location directly on the Danube and the cycle path, you can walk along the river directly from the site.
The catch: the nearest shopping facilities are about 20 minutes away.Αυτόματη μετάφραση. - Carmen B.June 2023ΘετικάUncomplicated campsite with plenty of peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundingsΑρνητικάThe many camper groups and weekend guests at the weekendSmall idyllWe really enjoyed our stay. A small, quiet, idyllic site in the beautiful Swabian Alb. Camping the way we like it - without animation or any other "fuss". The number of pitches and stay are uncomplicated and without unnecessary rules. You can cycle or hike directly from the site along the Danube. The... sanitary facilities - as well as the entire site - are well maintained and clean. We felt very comfortable and can recommend this site without reservation.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Lilian F.July 2022Θετικάvery uncomplicated campsite lots of young people very nice operator we will be back!ΑρνητικάYou have to pay extra for the showers.uncomplicatedVery nicely situated on the Danube. You can also go swimming and the tarte flambée on Fridays and Saturdays is very good. The cakes from the owner are also delicious.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Marcus W.June 2022ΘετικάUncomplicated check-in and check-out process, even if you arrive with mixed feelings if you can't make a reservation.ΑρνητικάUnfortunately no reservation possible. Narrow access to the site through an underpass and over a bridge and little space to park the car and trailer for the registration - therefore unrelaxed camping guests from a group - but the site can't help thatRustic place for a weekendWe were here for a short stay, rented a canoe at the nearby station and paddled to Sigmaringen in a relaxed manner - which was also very doable for inexperienced people like us. The campsite is right on the Danube and they serve tarte flambée on Fridays and Saturdays.
At least during our stay, we were... able to stay as long as we wanted on the day of departure, so the weekend didn't end on Sunday morning, but we were able to play mini golf nearby and then roll home completely relaxed.Αυτόματη μετάφραση. - Henning Z.June 2022ΘετικάNice location by the riverΑρνητικάSeveral loud groups (with drinking games and co) Quite expensive Cramped spaces Hardly any playground Old sanitary facilities Shower costs extraUnfortunately very loud and uncomfortableUnfortunately, we were disappointed for the second time. After a noisy and annoying night last year, we wanted to give the site a second chance. In addition to travelers passing through, there were once again mainly groups with a correspondingly noisy backdrop. For the price, the meadow by the river,... right next to roads and the railroad line is not appropriate. Over €40 for one night, without a playground, caressing buildings and even the shower costs extra.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- wanda / werner p.September 2021ΘετικάSpecial location in rugged surroundings. Directly on the young Danube.ΑρνητικάShopping facilities unfortunately only about 15 km away.Rustic campsiteFree choice of seats. Partly covered with garden slabs. Uncomplicated check-in/check-out. Drinks available at reception. SAT reception only on pitches further away from the rocks. We felt very comfortable here.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Frank S.September 2021ΘετικάThe campsite is beautifully situated on the Danube.ΑρνητικάNo WLAN on the entire campsite, only near the kiosk. Long distances for fresh, gray and black water. Electricity boxes far away from the pitches and therefore a tangle of cables across the pitch.Very nice CP with slight weaknessesDespite some weaknesses, this campsite is recommended because of its great location. Operator very nice and helpful.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.

- Bernhard K.July 2020ΘετικάRight on the Danube, get out of your tent and into the water. Very high recreational value with hiking, cycling, swimming, paddling, climbing and sightseeing tours.ΑρνητικάSometimes very full, although the management has this very well under control and there is always a free space in the wash houseBeautiful, natural campsite in wonderful surroundings. The campsite is located directly on the Danube and consists of two areas. One area for caravans and motorhomes and one area for tents and campers. There is electricity on site and a very new wash house with sinks, showers and toilets. You have to buy tokens for hot water for showers. Some small items as well as food and drinks are available directly at the campsite.
The groundsman is very nice and relaxed. We liked it very much.Αυτόματη μετάφραση. - Doreen B.June 2019Arrive and feel goodSmall and very nice place with a feel-good factor. We were there with tent and dog and were thrilled. Above all, camping in a direct location on the Danube with a panoramic backdrop, what more could you want... Not to mention the super-friendly service from the owner. We will be back.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Felix H.June 2019ΘετικάDanubeTop place!Ideal for active people! Hiking, cycling, canoeing, climbing! Start right at the campsite! On the banks of the Danube, in the most beautiful part of the Upper Danube Nature Park, you can set off on a voyage of discovery on foot, by bike or boat directly from the campsite. Ideal for families with small children (don't forget your bike and dinghy!).Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Ingrid G.August 2018ΘετικάWonderful location, pleasant night's sleep, relaxed camper life. Various restaurants and grocery shopping on site.ΑρνητικάHot water shower costs 1€ per 7 minutes (cold water shower free of charge).Great space without unnecessary luxury featuresIt's nice that such a place still exists! Simply a large meadow, lots of places with shade - the overflow meadow at the eastern end is very sunny though. The groundsman offers cold drinks, coffee, cake, ice cream and snacks, and you can also recharge your ice packs. On Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday... evenings you can buy delicious tarte flambée on the pitch. There is a small shop within 200m walking distance with all the groceries you need for a few days in the Danube Valley (closed on Wednesday afternoons, but open until 10am on Sunday mornings). There are also inns and a managed mini golf course within walking distance. Breakfast can be booked in advance at the Gasthof Steinhaus opposite. The showers were renovated and extended in 2017. The sanitary block is relatively small overall, but is to be expanded in the medium term. Nevertheless, everything works surprisingly well even at full capacity and is comparatively clean. Good value for money (including the daily shower token).Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Andreas B.July 2018ΘετικάUnparceled pitches, only 200m to the bakery (also on Sundays), many leisure activitiesΑρνητικάEvery now and then a train passes by during the dayCamping totally informalThis was camping as it used to be, but without sacrificing amenities. The campsite is located directly on the Danube. There are virtually no parcels and the best thing: no permanent campers with garden fences and allotment stalls. We were able to set up a "wagon fortress" with several vehicles. The groundsman was friendly and courteous. It was not the last time we were thereΑυτόματη μετάφραση.

- Julia H.May 2018ΘετικάQuiet, suitable for families, friendly operators, clean wash house despite full spaceΑρνητικάI haven't found anythingAn unforgettable vacationWe were there for 10 nights! Our son, 13, didn't want to come with us at first because it would definitely be boring! But nothing there he was pissed off a lot in the Danube for families a real insider tip!Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Miriam H.August 2017ΘετικάGreat nature. Beautiful cycling and hiking trails from the site. You can swim and paddle in the slow-flowing Danube. Delicious tarte flambéeΑρνητικάVery full during vacations & public holidays WE. Showers with shower coins. No reservations.Beautiful nature, but very crowded! We are usually always on the road with our children, but once spent a child-free (therefore no exact rating for child-friendliness) couple's weekend at the CP Wagenburg on the first summer vacation WE. The area is picturesque (a fellow camper said that when you drive down the serpentine towards the campsite,... you feel like you're in Tuscany). The limestone cliffs stand out among the greenery. The entrance looks cozy, but is VERY narrow. There were several traffic jams and cars could hardly get in and out, let alone camper vans or motorhomes! There are no separate parking spaces. You park your car wherever there is space. Either directly on the pitch next to the tent, or close to the embankment. There were lots of smaller tents and camper vans there. There were also groups on the large meadow downstream. Upstream there were also many caravans and camper vans and also some old, very funny and creative vehicles ;-) . We were received nicely (but not rudely) by the operator. He walked around the site with us and a few others (there was a big crowd) and showed us the free pitches. (It was good that we had made it just before the lunch break, as it would have been difficult to find a place for a larger family tent in the late afternoon). As the operator in reception also sells shower tokens and coffee etc., quite a few people had to wait during this time. However, he is very relaxed and keeps an eye on what is free and when. There are lots of different people here and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and laid-back. That's how it should be! :-) We then found a nice, semi-shady spot between two trees downstream (a youth group was just dismantling), where our tent with table and chairs in front of it just about fitted. But every meter was actually occupied by a tent or vehicle! As soon as someone started dismantling, the next one was already there. Sometimes the tent ropes almost overlapped. The volume was correspondingly high early in the morning and late in the evening. (No parties or anything, but just a lot of people in a small space). On Sunday lunchtime, when we also left, the place emptied out. There were also lots of children. They didn't seem to have missed a playground. There is a table tennis table and the slow-flowing Danube is ideal for swimming, splashing around and boating. An ice-cold stream flows through the site into the river, which was a pleasant temperature. We missed a pub or something in the town in the evening where you could have a drink. The pub opposite the square was full. On our little walk through the village, we came across the leisure center just a few hundred meters from the campsite. There is a beer garden with Swabian cuisine, a small playground, mini golf, a barbecue station for groups with a playground and a llama enclosure. Canoes and kayaks can also be hired here. These were often seen paddling downstream and many cyclists were also out and about. There are some beautiful excursion and hiking destinations in the area, also for children. However, as we were only there for two nights, we weren't able to do much. We went for a stroll in Albstadt. A cozy, not too big old town and some cafes and ice cream parlors. The campsite sells very tasty tarte flambée (€5-7.50) fresh from the clay oven four times a week in the afternoon from 5pm! You have to try it! There is a very small bakery opposite the campsite. For larger purchases you have to drive a few kilometers. The sanitary facilities were recently renovated, as far as I know. Unfortunately, Suschen uses shower coins. But sufficient time for adults; 7min/1€). Only with children is this always very stressful! The number of showers seemed very small to me at first, but there were no waiting times (or I was just lucky). Each shower has a small anteroom with sufficient hooks and shelves (I would still like a small mirror), the coin-operated machine hangs directly in each anteroom and counts from the moment it is inserted. There is a mat on the floor. Apart from a few cobwebs here and there, the showers and toilets were always clean. The sinks were always full, so you usually had to wait. If the place wasn't so crowded, we would love to come back. Even with our children. But since we are dependent on the vacations and reservations are only accepted for a week or more, we prefer to go to places where we have a little more space and freedom ;-)Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- E. M.July 2017ΘετικάLocation, groundskeeper.Αρνητικά-Everything superWe stayed for three nights and were reluctant to leave. As described above, everything was great, a bit cramped and crowded at the weekend, but very quiet and peaceful. The groundsman is really relaxed and friendly.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Albert S.July 20171st place for us at German campsitesTwo of us stayed at this campsite with a caravan from July 19 - 27, 2017. In addition to the picturesque location on the Danube and under the Hausen cliffs, it is above all the confident and friendly groundsman that makes this campsite our favorite in Germany.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
