The staff are really friendly and courteous, these people enjoy their work!
The location is perfect for hikers and mountain bikers, and is also a tried and tested spot for motorcyclists. Fishing is possible at the site's own pond, tickets... are available at reception. With the GUTI card you can use public transport free of charge.
The sanitary facilities were always very, very clean!

Quiet location, we were really happy with itΑρνητικάWhat we didn't like were the overpriced electricity prices, we paid 9.85€ for 2 nights incl. basic fee and 11 KW, is that necessary????Everything nice and clean but electricity way too expensiveWe will be back, unfortunately we didn't have more time.

For children there is a nice playground and swimming pond where you can also fish (permits are available from reception).
The sanitary facilities were always clean.
There is also a small store where... you can buy everyday necessities and a sales room for camping articles.
The super friendly service team at the campsite also deserves a lot of praise.

Guests receive a guest card that allows them to travel free of charge on the Oberpfalzbahn train. The children really enjoyed it. The train runs... in different directions. There are great excursion destinations for families with children, but also for single people or couples. The sanitary facilities were always clean. There is a large play area for children, a children's playground, a toddlers' playground and a bowling alley. There is also a mini golf course right next to the campsite. There is an extra meadow for dogs. There is a swimming pond and a small lake for splashing around, swimming, boating and stand-up paddling. Unfortunately, we were unable to test the indoor pool due to coronavirus. Overall, we had a great short vacation here. The children had great fun. We would love to come back.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.

The pitches are very easy to access and large enough. The sanitary facilities (Sanitary 1) are a bit older, but very well maintained and clean. The showers have a large vestibule and there are plenty of washbasins with sufficient space. The small store... with bread roll service is stocked with everything you need. It is advisable to order the bread rolls in advance, because if you arrive a little later there is not so much choice. There is a beautiful lake on site and a great children's playground. Unfortunately, the indoor pool was closed. There are many leisure activities in the surrounding area (Hoher Bogen, Lohberg Zoo, Czech Republic, Furth im Wald, Bad Kötzting......) Only the WLAN is absolutely outdated, you can buy up to 8 hours (3 euros) and it didn't really work well.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.

The campsite is getting very old and as others have already written, something "fresh" is missing. The store has been downsized, the restaurant closed, the swimming pool was closed due to too few users (understandable). The guest card is great, free travel on... public transport. Everything is easy to reach. The departure times of the train (great, right on the square) are not exactly great, if we had needed it, there was no connection. We received a very nice welcome. Excursion destinations were easy to reach and were recommended to us by the campsite. We took a tour to Prague with a bus company, starting right from the neighboring village. All in all ok, a breath of fresh air, a little more love for the sanitary facilities and maybe a little renewal (taps and shower heads partly need it), then you can't find fault with anything. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right when you look at other campsites. - Johannes S.October 2013I was back in Hohenwarth after about 25 years. The recognition value was enormous, i.e. almost nothing has changed in this time, apart from the owners! The gate is still closed at lunchtime from 13:00 to 15:00, sanitary facilities, electricity connections, water supply etc. are unchanged at first glance!... The "Heigl" restaurant was closed, as was the indoor swimming pool. Understandable given the low occupancy rate in October. A breath of fresh air would do the site some good. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities and the site is OK. The location is still good. This also applies to the accessibility of hiking destinations and sights in the area. The guest card with various discounts and free use of public transport is commendable. The peace and quiet and the beautiful nature in Lamer Winkel make you overlook a lot of things. Everyone over 1.70 has to bend over to shower. Strange fees. Garbage fee, electricity fee, etc. What's that all about? I don't find the place sooooo cheap. A breath of fresh air would be good here.
