- K. G.June 2019Θετικάbeautiful pool area, beautiful swimming lakeΑρνητικάEmployees, no more campsite feelingNot a leading campsite for usAs we had already been to other Leading campsites, we chose Des Alicourts for our Whitsun vacation, but would not go there again. The site is in the middle of the forest on a beautiful little lake (for swimming), but is a bit far away from the nearest towns. Without a car, trips to the Loire castles... and the nearest supermarkets are difficult (we always drove an average of 45 minutes by car). There are mobile homes on 2/3 of the site, so we didn't really feel like we were on a campsite. The new sanitary building is really great (underfloor heating in the showers), the smaller, closer building was partially closed and there was only cold water for washing up. The pool is a dream for children, but swallows breed in the slide tower and their droppings were never removed by the highly motivated lifeguards (not even those on the sun loungers). The super water slides were switched off half an hour before the pool closed and a quarter of an hour later the guests also had to leave the pool, even though it was still well frequented. The staff were generally not really friendly, rather annoyed and stuffy. Our pitch had not been mowed before our arrival, so that at the end of our stay the grass was a little higher (also in the awning). On another pitch, the garbage bags left by campers (they apparently didn't know that there was a huge garbage collection area) were not cleared away for a week. There is plenty of entertainment on offer, but the prices are quite high. We didn't try the restaurant - the pizza from the take-away was okay. At the weekend there were party people and sleeping was out of the question until 2am (although it should be quiet from 10:30pm). If we go to the Loire again, we will look for a better located campsite and gladly forego one or more stars.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Tanja K.June 2017ΘετικάQuiet, great pool, perfect for childrenΑρνητικάThe pricesClose to the perfect spotWe (2 adults, 4 children and a dog) were on the site at Whitsun 2017. Since it was not even half occupied, the place was very quiet, there was no animation..... The campsite is in the middle of a forest, but still within driving distance of the big castles. Everything was perfect for us there. The prices... in the restaurant and partly in the grocery store are a bit sporty, we did a lot of shopping on the way... The staff were all very, very friendly and always helpful.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Niels Q.August 2014Θετικάbeautiful bathing lake attractive pool area many "attractions"/amenitiesΑρνητικάOverpriced overall (both parking spaces and shopping etc.) not a consistent 5* standard (sanitary facilities in particular leave something to be desired)Overpriced 5* camping in the middle of nowhereWe were guests at Les Alicourts Resort in the second half of August this year. We had already booked a pitch for our caravan in the first row by the lake a year in advance and received it immediately on arrival. Check-in and check-out are very quick and you can be on your pitch in no time at all. These... are all generously sized. There is plenty of space for a caravan, awning and car on the pitch and then there is still plenty of room for an additional tent or similar. As already described by other guests, the English clearly dominate on this site, followed at some distance by the Dutch. German-speaking guests can only be found very occasionally. The center of the complex is a (probably artificial) bathing lake with a beautiful, fine-grained sandy beach. Part of the lake (approx. 33%) is reserved for anglers. The rest is available to swimmers. There is also an attractively designed pool area with wave pool, children's pool, various water slides and a heated indoor pool. For children, there is a large playground with all kinds of equipment and a smaller "play island" in the form of a pirate ship near the beach. Adults have countless possibilities within the resort. Spa & wellness, fitness studio, 9-hole golf course (short courses), mini golf, internet corner and much more! There is also a small supermarket, another store where you can buy leisure items, a snack bar and a restaurant. We spurned the latter two due to the prices charged there (I wouldn't buy pizza salami, possibly with 1-2 other toppings, for €12.50 for a family of 4 on principle). The entire resort is located about 40-50 kilometers south of Orleans and about 15-20 kilometers north or southeast of the nearest smaller towns with supermarkets (Super U, Intermarche, Carrefour). Many Loire castles can be easily reached by car from here and the immediate surroundings of the campsite are a dream for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. On the one hand, this is a blessing, but on the other hand it is also a curse. The campsite operator seems to be fully aware of the location of his campsite and really goes the extra mile financially when it comes to everyday items. The mark-up on many products in the supermarket is well over 100%, and the overall pricing can be described as "hefty". One example is the price of Wi-Fi. 1 day costs €6, a week of Internet access for a smartphone or notebook costs €25. To be fair, you get a very stable network with a decent speed for this price. With 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 4, we paid €1,074 for our pitch (1st row on the lake with electricity, water and waste water) for 2 weeks in mid-August... everyone can judge this for themselves. In the end, we found it overpriced. Especially as we also found the apparently typical French problem at this campsite. SANITARY FACILITIES!!! Let's put it this way: "THEY WERE OK!", but on a 5* campsite at 5*+ prices I simply expect more. The wash houses are all (except for a special children's wash house!) completely open all around, so that the wind blows in everywhere. Unfortunately, we had a rather cool August, with never more than 22°C during the day. I don't need to explain that the evening shower wasn't a complete delight, despite the really hot water. In addition, all the sanitary facilities are more functional than attractive and therefore don't fit in at all with the rest of the campsite with its many great facilities. In the end, it's whining at a higher level, but for the prices and the clear marketing strategy of the 5* concept, it was clearly not enough for me and I think that everyone who has ever been there will agree with me. Overall, however, we had a very pleasant stay, with a few minor drawbacks! We probably won't visit the campsite again in the next few years. There are simply too many other beautiful destinations all over Europe that we want to visit.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Walter W.August 2012A beautifully laid out site, which is mainly visited by English and Dutch people. In the middle of the campsite is a bathing lake with a sandy beach, which is adjoined by the pitches. The pitches are mainly shaded by trees. There are lots of leisure facilities: a large children's playground, leisure... pool, soccer pitch, basketball court, beach volleyball court, tennis courts and even a 9-hole golf course (very suitable for beginners). You can go archery or pony riding, there is a boules court, mini golf, table tennis tables, Kettcars and even electric cars for 4-7 year olds. There is a banana boat and water skiing for teenagers. Part of the lake has been cordoned off for anglers. The staff are very friendly, but only a few speak German. Nevertheless, my 8-year-old son was very happy in the mini club. If necessary, a Dutch boy, who has become his friend, took care of the translation into German. Even on the pitches close to the beach, the evening entertainment was not so loud that the children in the caravan would have had problems falling asleep (in contrast to many Italian pitches). However, the food in the restaurant on site is not to be recommended. As the site doesn't have that many pitches and is fully booked until the end of August, you should definitely make a reservation if you want to come in July or August. We would love to come again.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
- Frank M.July 2010Lovingly maintained site with large pitches and top sanitary facilities. Great pool area with wave pool if you don't like swimming in the lake. Wide range of leisure activities. Good base for visiting castles on the Loire. However, as German campers are in the clear minority, German is not spoken during... the entertainment and at reception, but English and a little French go a long way. Conclusion: for all the money you unfortunately leave here, you get real value for money. We can only recommend it.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.
