Mark P.July 2024ΘετικάNext to the lake. Lots of natural features with wonderful lake views. Beautiful meadow with free choice of camping pitch. Friendly people. Close to lovely Schwerin. Castle and Altstadt worth a visit with lovely boat tours. Campsite and ablutions clean. Great for kids, so perhaps not so quiet but plenty of quiet areas to be found. It has been a truly restful stay for us.ΑρνητικάLake has many reeds which make for difficult swimming. But that is part of the nature. Lake itself is gorgeous. There is only ablution Block for the whole campsite with another small toilet block available.Restful campingThe only drawback for us are the availability of the toilets, showers and dishwashing facilities. Far to few and located pretty much in one spot. Also somewhat old. However well maintained and clean. Large, flat lawns. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years. The showers in the large coin-operated sanitary building only get lukewarm towards the end. There is also a small, narrow toilet container where dog owners with dogs sometimes go, which is tolerated. It was quite... quiet for three days, then suddenly very lively towards the weekend. There could be more tables and benches on the meadow and by the water. These are also often occupied by the permanent campers and the campers look down the tubes.

A beautifully decorated beach bar with a large outdoor terrace and facilities left nothing to be desired and the caring service team from the Kissel family was very attentive and service-oriented.

Sparse but clean sanitary facilities, tasty sandwiches, friendly staff. If you are looking for glamping, need a parceled-out pitch and expect a 5-star bathing temple, this is not the place for you. Friendly staff at reception. The parties of the permanent campers were annoying. Without any consideration, the roaring until 2 a.m. only ended with a good rain shower, so there was still some peace and quiet at night.
Despite the rather extensive collection of rules on where... to stand, these rules are neither checked nor sanctioned. As it is an unparceled area, everyone can position themselves as they wish without any consideration for the neighbors. Meals suddenly have to be shared with the neighbors in front of the caravan because the neighbors' awning overlaps with their own awning on the camper van and the "newcomers" can't see anything wrong with it. The distance, which should actually be 3 m, is 20 cm from the suddenly adjacent surfer van. All very annoying.
The wash houses bear their name deliberately. They are cleaned regularly, the substance has been through quite a lot. Everything with several steps, no accessibility.
The beach bar is only open on weekdays, the snack bar only by the hour. It's about 20 km to Schwerin by bike - a nice route. SUP well possible on the lake, which is very flat on this side.
Bread roll service is there, but quality was mediocre.

It is particularly negative that campsite employees, who are supposed to ensure that the campsite rules are observed,... are involved in this.
The campsite management is obviously not willing to at least sporadically check that mouth and nose protection is worn in the sanitary building or to prevent loud nocturnal drinking orgies - a great pity given the great location of the campsite.

The staff are very friendly and you have a free choice of pitches. The lake is very shallow and you have to walk about 400 meters out to be able to swim. The toilets are mediocre - but the showers don't work at all. The location with the breathtaking sunsets is simply unique. We also like the concept of free choice of pitches. The site is simple but has a small snack bar with bread service and a very nice beach bar (only open on Fridays and Saturdays). It's... still camping. However, I do have a few points of criticism. However, these should rather be seen as suggestions to the very friendly operators and their staff. The shower token concept (better to increase the daily price by 1 € and shower for free) and the urination channel (exchange for urinals) for the men should be reconsidered. I would also replace the additional toilet container, which is clean but not nice to look at, with a small, solid toilet block. In my opinion, this can be done inexpensively with the very dedicated staff and would significantly enhance the entrance area of the campsite. Otherwise, the site is an ideal starting point for cycling tours around the lake, excursions to the Baltic Sea etc. We always enjoy coming back here.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.

Stefan T.June 2019Θετικάgreat location, quietΑρνητικάDepending on the pitch, long distances to the sanitary building and disposal stations, shower time, only cash payment possibleGreat place in a fantastic locationNaturcamping Retgendorf definitely has the best location of all the campsites around Schwerin on Lake Schwerin. The sunsets are fantastic. The pitches here are not parceled out. This means you can choose your own pitch. Electricity and water are within easy reach. We met very friendly staff both at reception... and at the snack bar. Fresh bread rolls are available every day at the snack bar. Due to the very long pitch, the only toilet block is very far away from the outdoor areas. Since the gray water and the toilet are also disposed of here, you have to walk quite a bit. Depending on the pitch, it is also a very long walk to the waste disposal point at the entrance. However, the sanitary facilities are very clean. You don't see the "shower solution" with a curtain very often any more. Unfortunately, it has still not been possible to pay by EC card. The 4-minute "shower" should perhaps be reconsidered. Here, 5 to 6 minutes would probably be a bit more in keeping with the times. The whole site was clean and well maintained. The location is fantastic. We have now been to Retgendorf 4 times on the beautiful campsite, it was once again very nice and relaxing, it was a lot of fun again, we will definitely come back soon, thanks to all the staff. View from the Womo over the water with wonderful sunsets. Sanitary is ok, curtains in front of the showers and toilet paper in the corridor should be covered. Sanitary was always clean. The electricity boxes should be reworked,... newer connections are needed here (CEE cable) The snack bar could also be worked on, perhaps stock a small range of campers.
