We really like the strict enforcement of the night's rest. You don't hear any noise from Bluetooth speakers during the day, just lots and lots of happy children.
In the evening, there's stick bread, marshmallows and guitar music around the campfire.

It started with the fact that you couldn't choose between pitches. We were placed with our children (8 and 12 years old) right next to the playground, which could only be used by children up to 7 years old.... There is a bread roll service, but I can only choose how many bread roll bags I want, the bags are filled with two normal and two seeded bread rolls, if I want or need 5 bread rolls in the morning, I am forced to buy two bags with a total of 8(!) bread rolls.
We were looking forward to a natural campsite, but natural doesn't mean that it has to look messy and tidy. There is also no emphasis on cleanliness, the sanitary buildings were cleaned once a day and if not even the only bin (without a lid) in the combined shower/washroom/toilet building is emptied by 10 a.m. and there are still diapers and toiletries in it from the previous evening, then I can only shake with disgust.
I can still understand the argument that toilet paper is not provided because one camper wants it softer and the other wants it scented, although it is more for cost reasons, but the fact that soap dispensers are also saved is too much. So you end up going to the toilet armed with a roll of toilet paper and soap, where there is no place to put these utensils.
The statement that you either love this place or hate it is no excuse for untidiness and a lack of hygiene.
Since the points of criticism concerning disorder and hygiene come up again and again, the operator should take this criticism seriously and not blame the guests.

Apart from the showers (for cash), there is no hot water. However, you can overdo it when it comes to a good night's sleep: Talking is no longer allowed after 10 pm. Seriously, not even quiet talking! It's not about loud discussions... or rioting, no, it's about conversations in a quiet tone. Official instructions from the staff: only whispering is allowed on the pitch! And to go one better: Every few minutes after 10 p.m., someone goes round and checks whether people are talking or whispering! Sorry, but I really don't need such ridiculous paternalism in the manner of a school dormitory. There are plenty of other campsites where there is no ban on talking.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.

The operators are friendly and helpful. From 22:00 it is 100% quiet at night. So really a night's rest - very strict. The campsite is no longer crowded. That alone is an experience. You can go swimming. There is a small store at the... campsite. There was a campfire in the evening and there were even some talented musicians who contributed to the atmosphere with guitars and violin music. You could enjoy bread on a stick around the campfire or grill a sausage. All in all, it was very good and a great experience, especially for our little gnome. We found the campsite thanks to a tip from an acquaintance. Disadvantage: Well, the sanitary facilities. Opinions will differ here. The showers are not lockable. (Doesn't matter to me). The toilet area is similar to what I remember from my childhood in the GDR or what I remember from the cheap campsites in Poland. There is NO comparison to other campsites - eco-camping and 2 x daily cleaning or not. You have to bring your own toilet paper, so it's not available. For example, we were at a campsite in Bautzen directly before. Example 2: Our next destination was a campsite in Niechorze, Poland (Camping Pomona). The sanitary facilities there were completely tiled and spotlessly clean. That sounds stupid, of course, but you really could have eaten off the floor. There are simply worlds in between. For us, going to the toilet in daylight was definitely not inviting. It has to be said that we came with a tent. And due to rain a few days before, the sandy ground on the pitch was just like a sandy ground. And when you enter a (sanitary) building, you leave footprints. However, I am also of the opinion that you have to clean more than twice a day. And the toilets anyway. I wouldn't have cared with a caravan. Disposing of the chemical toilet on the campsite is not possible for ecological reasons. Conclusion: All well and good, but we didn't really feel comfortable because of the toilet situation. BUT: Less spoiled people (although I didn't think I was) with small children will certainly feel at home.Αυτόματη μετάφραση.

And yet we were given a very relaxed and extremely friendly welcome just before Ascension Day. Where else can you get a free coffee while filling out the registration form? We spent two lovely days here... with chickens, easily rented kayaks and a hammock until the "Lord's Day" led to full occupancy (but this was communicated to us from the start). You can also accept that the shower house is rather "minimalist" and does not have lockable shower cubicles, for example. All ecologists and nature lovers will feel right at home here. The site is beautifully situated and has a great lake. If you are a "normal camper" with a normal caravan, it becomes more differentiated. We can't meet our hygiene requirements here. We are... just "Otto Normalos". Don't get me wrong, it's a great place, WE were just the wrong campers for this place :-) This review is just to help people who are similar to us. The reasons: to get to the pitch (meadow) we had to drive through a narrow sandy road where boats, racks and bushes were standing to the right and left, around the bend it was only possible with a constant risk of damage. (We just have a big WW, which was certainly notorious there as a "glamper") The scullery and hot water were always a game of roulette. Just energy-conscious. The sanitary facilities were close to nature! Hot water was a matter of luck, non-lockable shower cubicles, etc. Whereby that was the description of the rear, better sanitary area. At the front reception.... well.... let's leave that. We hung the solar shower on the tree, we preferred that. Perhaps I'll start with your assessment of the restaurant.
Pizza...we get the yeast dough from a local baker. This is because we don't just bake pizza, but also offer fish, meat, pasta and egg dishes.... In order to maintain hygiene, we do not make our own dough. The pizzas are freshly topped with our own tomato sauce seasoned with Italian herbs and the ingredients specified on the menu or according to the guests' wishes, and then baked immediately in a stone oven at 380 C°. Frozen goods...not true!
The recipe for the chicken you are complaining about comes from the USA, and the appliance in which it is given a (quote:) "strange smoked flavor" is called a "smoker" there. The Americans like it a little differently to some Germans...but the dish was correctly described on the menu. You don't have to like it, that's often down to your own eating habits. But to give it a bad review and compare it to "Burgerkotz"... you've probably got more than just the food on your mind.
About the campsite...
WLan is available at the reception via a free hotspot. The pitches are not supplied because we only have a 1000 line, that's all Telekom can manage... unfortunately, forwarding is not possible. So just walk a meter, sip a coffee and surf in peace...!
I can't add anything to your driving skills... Our oldest guest, Heinz, is 82 years old, has been coming for over 20 years with a 15-meter-long canoe, and has no problems with the same route along the canoe rental. Maybe just take a driver training course with the ADAC!
"Notorious as glampers..." - We offer a pleasant atmosphere to a wide variety of guests. There are people who like to vacation in a tent, and there are just as many guests who enjoy vacationing with us in a comfortable caravan or motorhome. I'm not sure what you are basing your social envy on...we are happy when our guests are doing well and can afford everything they want. And strength of character is not reflected in the type or size of the vehicle or the accommodation...
Sanitary... We do not set out to promise or achieve 5 stars... or to offer anything of the sort. The sanitary facilities are really okay from our point of view, and are cleaned twice a day in the high season. But: We are continuing to develop, we also invested in 2018 and in spring 2019...you are welcome to follow the current construction progress of the sanitary facilities on Facebook or on our homepage. We are sure that the first reactions of our guests on facebook are right: the design is unusual!
Hot water... I can't understand the problem. The system is centrally controlled, the mixer always brings the same temperature...if something is wrong, we will of course fix it immediately...if you have made a mistake, I'm sorry. Just come to the reception and the shower token will be replaced and a second one added as compensation...it's as simple as that.
Actually, that's enough of a reply. We won't be able to please everyone. However, it is a phenomenon that some guests associate our "good concept" with the fact that we must also have corresponding "super facilities"...so "5-star concept" equals "5-star facilities" - that's probably the mistake. On the other hand...if you're in a bad mood, you'll find something that could be improved everywhere. A really well-meant tip to you: don't spoil your life and your vacation by constantly looking for things that could be better... Enjoy your well-earned prosperity and the good things in life, then we and you will certainly feel better! Highly recommended for families with children. There are various animals, a small playground and a very friendly campsite crew who can fulfill almost every wish. We didn't mind the site being quiet from 10pm at all. If you really want... to be a bit louder when socializing, you can do so just 50m outside the campsite at a lovely campfire with guitar music. We really enjoyed both and that's why we've already booked this year's summer vacation again. The crew are incredibly friendly, helpful and always calm, even when things get rough. What more could you want, a great paddling... area with lots for children to discover, always lots of playmates and a varied program, not just for the children. All of this on a beautiful campsite site. We camped with our two children (9+10 years old) for three nights in Hexenwäldchen last September weekend and finally found a campsite that offers everything we need. The location is phenomenal. In the middle of nature, right on the lake, wonderful tent pitches in the forest... (with enough space to the neighbors). Free-range, tame chickens, ducks, sheep. Spacious grounds with plenty of room for children to run around, dig, climb etc. We rented a four-person canoe as well as single canoes for the kids and had a lot of fun discovering the surrounding lakes (all connected to each other). We were also able to fish directly on the lake, which delighted both the kids and dad. The sanitary facilities are fine. You are in nature, so you can sometimes encounter bugs, spiders etc. but that's just part of it. We also used the campfire site. It is 1 minute away and also offers the children space to climb and play. The night's sleep is really strict 😅When my husband and I sat on the jetty in the evening and talked quietly, we were very kindly told to please really only whisper. That was ok for us. The homepage clearly points this out in advance. In general, the staff were very friendly and the children liked them straight away. I could rave on forever, but all I can say is: thank you for the great days and for creating such a great place. Thank you for taking the trouble to comment. I would like to comment on your critical remarks:
--- You rate the grocery store as "expensive". Of course you can get the goods cheaper at your usual discount store in the cities. We don't want to and can't compete with them, and consider... the offer as a kind of "emergency assortment" so that you as a guest don't have to travel far for every little thing. As we don't have a high turnover, the suppliers charge high delivery costs and don't give any discounts, which is why our prices are roughly at "petrol station level". It's true - if you really want to cover all your needs, you should go to a regular discount store. However, from our point of view, the price of a bread roll at €0.38, for example, is not too high...
--- "Night's rest" - you have to make up your mind...either you praise the night's rest, or you don't like it. But to like a good night's sleep but complain about it being implemented and enforced is absurd. You were probably admonished by the night watch because you weren't quiet...and the admonition didn't suit you...my recommendation: if you don't like it: just don't become a guest ;-)

--- Only the free cooking areas have cold water taps. You don't necessarily have to wash up there...they are "cooking" areas. The washing-up areas with hot water are located at the sanitary facilities
--- Hot showers cost €1 and are reasonable in relation to the actual accommodation costs
