The location of the campsite is excellent.

The "friendliness" of the male operator. The very rustic and rarely clean sanitary facilities, especially the showers, with curtains and no privacy.
NEVER AGAIN
The sanitary facilities are a disaster. Totally outdated. There are two showers for women. You have to undress in front of the shower, put the money a bit away, then go into the shower, whose curtain sticks to your skin while showering. The male campsite operator is...... I don't want to say any more... about it here. In any case, in 30 years of camping it has never happened to us that we left because of extreme "friendliness". This place is a disaster. The only great thing is the super nice location.

Unfriendliness
Failed when trying to drive onto the CP. Thumbs in the sand
We wanted to reverse onto the campsite because the entrance is narrow. The operator probably didn't want us to visit and put up a parking barrier while I was still reversing. We have never encountered so much friendliness. The site is very nice and quiet. It's less than 5 minutes' walk to the cliffs.

Simple, lonely, small but with charm
The people of this CP have little spontaneous cordiality (like many locals on this island) so they seem unfriendly from time to time. They have gradually rebuilt the farm themselves. The cleanliness is sufficient! (ok not perfect, but it's camping, right?) We were there for 5 days in September and my mother had one of the vacation apartments. It was lonely but quite nice. Good for exploring the northern corner of the island, especially by bike!

Family business with sympathetic anti-capitalist charm
We got a space for two large tents at short notice in the 2015 high season. Plus a bench under the trees and lots of space to create. That was great! - On top of that, we didn't pay much for our stay and the longer we were there, the more welcome we felt. The guests were international, which we also... liked. The philosophy of the operators is clearly not aimed at maximizing profits and they say so - we also found that very pleasant on a human level. Overall, the relatively small site is quite sheltered; if you land close to the access road, you can see the sea and sunsets. Outside the site are fields where kites are flown. The rough weather can hit you pretty hard there... Access to the beach is also very close. The beach itself is not ideal for swimming, but it is passable and not very crowded. It is bordered by a beautiful nature reserve, so you can go on wonderful beach walks along the water itself or above the coastal edge. There were rarely any dogs, probably also because the steps down to the beach are quite steep for several kilometers. A few words about the infrastructure criteria: The sanitary facilities on the site are basically okay; occasionally a lot of dirt is carried in and the (two) showers are sometimes occupied. But you can cope with this. Washing machine and dryer are also available, but no changing table or similar. The normal waste is disposed of well. I can't say anything about chemical toilets. There were also only a few mobile homes. Bread rolls were also available, the landlady's potato salad should also be worth a try. You can also get edible chips and sausages. There's not much else going on from a culinary point of view. In Dranske and Wiek - both about 7-10 minutes away by car - you can learn to windsurf on the Bodden in water that is no more than waist-deep. The main town in Wittow for shopping of all kinds, restaurants and cultural excursions is Altenkirchen, which is approx. 15 minutes away by car. Some guests also came by bike. So the location of the campsite is not bad for this either. In summary, we spent a very relaxing vacation and can recommend the site to anyone who can cope well with simple conditions, would like to go on a few excursions and doesn't need outside entertainment at the site.

No thanks, we won't be back
I can only agree with the "bad" comments below. We felt like troublemakers as soon as we arrived. No "warm welcome" and not one friendly smile from the operator in a whole week. The sanitary facilities are a disaster. Dirty corners, wiped round and cobwebs everywhere. Even for brushing teeth only cold... water (hot water taps are unscrewed). We have never experienced anything like it anywhere else. There is no motion detector at the front of the building, so if you want to go to the girls' toilet at night you should take a flashlight with you. It's pitch black there. The hot water for washing up was not enough to fill the sink, obviously the boilers underneath are too small!

Cleanliness.
Once and never again!
The condition of the sanitary facilities for campers is poor. Showers only work with a lot of luck, no curtains or partitions in front of the washbasins, only cold water from the taps! Toilets are cleaned too rarely and toilet seats are loose. The apartment is not exactly clean, beds and sofa smell musty.... Toilet flushing is loud, walls are thin, you can hear EVERYTHING from the neighbors. View of the Baltic Sea is obscured by mobile homes. Campsite operators are moody.

Unfortunately, the place didn't convince us. A lot of effort was made and the location not far from the beach is very nice, but there were also a few points of criticism. Some corners of the campsite seemed a little untidy. The reception area could be a little nicer, has a bit of a "container character"... and the facade of the apartments could do with a complete repaint. The sanitary facilities were clean, with 2 showers each, but the coin-operated machines should be a little closer to the showers, makes it easier to throw them in.

Small and nice campsite (30 pitches) close to the beach. Hot water is available for washing up. However, showers cost EUR 1.00 for 3 minutes. A washing machine with dryer is also available (the price could be cheaper). Bread rolls are delivered in the morning if ordered in advance. A very popular campsite for parents with children.

We were with our T4 WoMo on site - very nice people - small place, but cozy, not far from the beach, sanitary and Co -i.O.. -- 1,- € - 3 min. showers
