"I've never felt like I do at Camping Paradiso!!! - Camping Paradiso, the name is deceptive: We wanted to stay 2 nights and left the next morning. We wanted to get as close as possible to Viareggio with the caravan and chose Camping Paradiso for this. Unfortunately, this campsite has not kept up with the times and is not recommended as a tourist campsite. The permanent campers and rental cabins dominate and the tourist campers are dealt with on the side. Actually, everything is there to have a nice vacation, but it all seems a bit unkempt, carelessly managed and outdated. The wash houses are large and efficient but very dark, a little bumped and broken here and there. Pitches very uneven, very sandy, partly lower than the access road, which makes it difficult to get away from the pitch with a caravan without maneuvering assistance. In general, there are only very narrow paths on the entire site, some of which are overgrown and very difficult to drive on with a caravan and motorhome. Fresh water and gray water drainage at the site, but the taps are overgrown in the hedge and branched off from the garden irrigation system. The waste water inlet is a pipe in the hedge that I would describe as the maw of hell. However, there are central water taps if this installation is not to your liking. The access road to the barrier system is very long but there is no waiting lane for caravans and motorhomes. Anyone who parks in front of it blocks everything and receives an announcement from reception and then the reverse maneuvering begins. There are parking spaces for cars along the entire length of the driveway, although there is a large parking lot to the right of the entrance! Obviously the rental guests and long-term campers with their cars are more important than the arriving tourist campers. Therefore, your own car on the site costs extra, which we have never experienced before. So as not to sound too negative, here are a few more positive impressions: Bus shuttle to the beach, WLAN acceptable.

"Recommendable - You should bring your bike, then you can easily reach the beach, the town and the surrounding area. There are also great restaurants along the long promenade. The site itself has beautiful pitches which you can choose. In the center there is a well-equipped store, a restaurant, a camping supplies store and a bar. The sanitary facilities are clean and functional by Italian standards. We found the site to be pleasant, highly recommended and will definitely stop off again.

"Tidy campsite - This site is suitable for excursions in the surrounding area. But not for a longer stay. It's actually firmly in the hands of Italian long-term campers, but that's no different on many sites in Germany. The reception is super nice and friendly and the site looks very well-kept. If you have a bike with you, you can cycle through the pine forest to the beach relatively quickly. A good restaurant in the inner courtyard of the store, café, store and bakery. There is a very nice swimming pool. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but relatively clean. All in all, the place is ok.

"So-so - From our point of view, this place is only suitable for a stopover. It is actually firmly in Italian hands. The sanitary building looks nice at first glance, but on closer inspection you can see the shortcomings. The lack of taps is a minor problem, if you have to go to the toilet at night you can only do so with a flashlight, the light is probably not switched on for cost reasons. The cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired. Hot water: not available. The positive thing is the price (14 €) For us definitely no more.

"Narrow and loud - We were on the site at Easter 2017. The access road is narrow, the pitches small, staff friendly. Many pitches require the car to be parked separately. We didn't want this and got a parking space at the back of the site. It is very noisy there because of the road and full of permanent campers. We had to uncouple the caravan and push it around the last junction - simply too narrow, all one lane. The restaurant is good and reasonably priced. There is only cold water at the washbasins and dishwashers. Showers are sometimes too cold, sometimes too hot. The beach is too far away on foot, but easy to reach by bike. Just take old bikes and lots of (good) locks with you! They stole my folding bike at the front of the beach!

"Summer 2016 - High season August - Stayed 2 nights. Nice place with a great mini market, nice bar. We didn't try the pizzeria. Shuttle bus to the beach. Lively place (swimming pool, animation, well suited for children. Close to Pisa. 20 minute walk to the beach. Can be recommended, there were still a few places available despite the high season and public holiday.
