Went in with our camping car we spent one night there and happy not to have stay longer , we were charged 50 euros with electricity which I said we plugged in but really we did not use it as we were fully charged any way,so unplugged , my fault should not have plugged... in ,and should have asked the price, any way the price with or without electricity is abusive , in nine month travelling throught France , Spain and Portugal we never pais this price , on top of it we took the potty out and the hole (a toilette sit)was block , absolutely discusting , after cleaning my own had to clean every one else ,the situation of the camp site is amazing but so are other campings in magnificients sites for a max of 25 euros.
We became clients from the restaurant , this was the reason we came in the first place , and nothing to say , nice evening very warm and pleasant atmosphere, very profesional managers running the place , food and presentation were great , a bit pricy but you espect that when you see the place , wine list top nosh , you are not paying for the food only you pay the exclusivity of the place , so why dont they apply this to the standart of the camping, then we probably wont feel cheated.

Beautiful campsite right on the lake - great but expensive restaurant
We spent one night with the camper van at the lake. It was also possible to check in late, as the adjacent restaurant is also open in the evening. For the sanitary facilities, I recommend the ones directly below the restaurant, the ones further back are not really well maintained. We tried the restaurant... straight away as it was recommended here. I share the recommendation, but: it is an absolutely upmarket restaurant with great quality, great wine, great service - but at an extremely high price for campers and Portuguese standards. So it's best to take a look at the menu first.

My favorite place in Portugal
Small, simple, idyllic site with lots of atmosphere - my favorite of the six campsites I've visited in Portugal so far. The site has its own access to the lake with very clear water (still a little fresh in May but suitable for swimming on warm days). However, it is rather unsuitable for families with... small children as there is no shallow water zone, the shore is steep and stony and the path to the bathing jetty is only suitable for bathing shoes to a limited extent. Boaters and canoeists will be pleased with the boat slip, although the access to it is somewhat steep and winding. We had maneuvered our VW bus into a small alcove right next to the lake access; larger camper vans and caravans are better off staying in the upper area. The path to the simple but very well-kept sanitary facilities is also closer there. I would definitely recommend the associated restaurant "O Sabor da Pedra" (http://www.osabordapedra.com/), first-class food with a view of the lake and excellent wines. Ideal for an extensive dinner in a relaxed atmosphere - and no discussions about who has to drive ;-)
