The journey over the serpentine roads was quite adventurous. We were immediately greeted by a friendly member of staff, even though it was lunchtime. This employee pulled our caravan to our pitch with a small tractor. It would have been almost impossible... for us to get there. The pitches are all natural, and there was an oak tree in the middle of ours. This made it a bit difficult for us to find a place.
The check-in was very friendly and professional.
The wash house was in the immediate vicinity and could be reached via a path. It was clean but absolutely outdated. In our opinion it needs renovation.

We were allocated a nice pitch. The steep approach was no problem for our 11m vehicle. Water and waste water directly at the pitch. But this is probably not the case at all campsites. The campsite is a great starting... point for visits to Florence, Pistoia, Pisa or Lucca. We went on a hike to Vinci. Also very nice. You can be picked up from there by the CP shuttle. On arrival in the evening at 10.00 pm, after an adventurous journey, with our almost 8 meter long caravan up the steep roads and then behind the very friendly gentleman and his e-buggy to the pitch. I'm not sure if we would have driven there in the light.......
The sanitary facilities are no longer the newest, but the water in the showers and for washing up is hot. The toilets and showers were also always clean, only the building itself could have been better cleaned. Bread rolls were available in the store in the morning, a nice walk from our pitch. Wi-Fi was only available at the pool and the wash house. Unfortunately no reception at our pitch. The pool is very nice, but was freezing cold when we were there. Sun loungers included.
Restaurant on the pitch was fine.
Bus service to Pistoia to the train station from there to Florence was great. Beautiful towns nearby: Lucca, Vinci....

If you make a reservation, you have to pay the full price in advance and won't get anything back if you leave early. Registration at the site is quick, professional and friendly, the pitch is allocated (we had 67). Getting there is a bit of an adventure. If you enter the... GPS data from the camping guide into the navigation system, you are still about 10 km away from the actual pitch. But from there, the site is also signposted. The approach has a "high alpine" feel to it, you drive along a narrow pass road into the Tuscan mountains and at the end you come to a widened hilltop with a magnificent panorama. We have a caravan with 5.15 WW and I think we had the longest caravan on site.
Nature of the site
The site itself is situated around a hilltop and is very spacious with some quite steep paths. The pitches are mostly alcove-like and have a loamy surface (with quite a lot of wood ants). It was quite far away from the neighbors and there is a lot of greenery on the site due to the loosened-up layout. It was very quiet all day and the site was pleasantly free of all kinds of entertainment.
Sanitary facilities
The sanitary facilities exude the charm of the 1960s, but are clean and functional. However, this does not deserve the very good rating in the camping guide. In addition, at least our wash house 2 is completely outdoors, which is not so pleasant in the cooler September temperatures.
Other infrastructure
Get some food and drinks, you're a bit out in the sticks. The campsite restaurant is highly recommended. Conclusion For hikers, this is certainly a highly recommended site. We didn't really feel at home there - it was a bit too alpine for us. If you are coming from Pistoia, do not follow the navigation system and take the first turning (this is hardly feasible with a trailer anyway), but turn off in the village. Access road very steep in places but not too narrow. Friendly welcome. Campsite with some bungalows on a... separate part of the site. Pitches partly parceled out by bushes or laid out in terraces. A very long cable (>25 meters) is sometimes required for electricity. Water points are sometimes quite far away. Pitches are available in various sizes. A small supermarket on site. Bread/rolls can be ordered in advance. Restaurant on site but also other restaurants in the immediate vicinity (within walking distance). Further shopping facilities (supermarket) approx. 6 km away. Sanitary building always clean. Showers hot and large enough. Hairdryer available. Soap available in the toilets. Barbecues with charcoal allowed. Very nice view of the valley from the pools (3 pools). Bicycles, mountain bikes and scooters are available for hire. The steep access road to the pitches is no problem even for long caravans. In an emergency, the extremely friendly staff will help you with the tractor...! The pitches vary in size, with clay soil or grass and some are set up under... shady trees. The open sanitary block was very clean during our stay and everything worked. The sockets are protected with 10 amps. Free internet throughout the site. Swimming pool with a sensational view of Tuscany. Restaurant on the pitch and adjacent to the pitch. Courses are offered for making basta. It is an advantage to arrive with groceries, the store on site offers little choice and is overpriced. Bread can be pre-ordered. Good location for excursions to Montecatini, Lucca, Pistoia or Vinci. If you take the 7 km long winding mountain road, you will be rewarded with a beautiful natural site. The swimming pool is also suitable for non-swimmers. During our stay in September 2018, the sun loungers were free of charge. The campsite is an ideal starting point for sightseeing tours. There are shuttle buses to Florence and Pistoia.... The food in the restaurant on site was a disaster. I have never eaten such a bad "homemade" lasagna and a pizza from the freezer counter is also better. The sanitary facilities are very clean, the staff are super friendly and helpful and the small store has all the essentials. For a site in this price category, I don't think it's ok... that sun loungers and deckchairs are chargeable. Small store, sufficient for the essentials. Drinks such as water but incredibly expensive! Restaurant ok. Sanitary facilities actually in good condition. According to my wife, the ladies' showers should be cleaned more often. What's really annoying is that there is far too little water coming out of the showers. The place is actually too expensive for that... Für mich waren das 15 Minuten Fussweg hin und zurück, viel Spass!Toller Platz, etwas abgelegenWir waren dort mit zwei Zelten und hatten einen schönen Stellplatz. Im Grunde ist das wie Camping auf einem Berggipfel, man kann zu zwei Seiten ins Tal sehen. Es gibt viele verschiedene und viele schöne Stellplätze (gross, klein, mit Aussicht, ohne Aussicht), deswegen vorher zeigen lassen. Waschhaus... war immer sauber. Guter Service an der Rezeption. Der Pool ist wirklich so schön wie auf den Bildern. Der Platz ist zwar in der Nähe von Floremz, aber 50 Minuten Fahrt sollte man schon einplanen. Allerdings ist er ganz in der Nähe von Vinci, dem Geburtsort von Leonardo da Vinci. Mehrere Mussen und schönes kleines Dorf, sehenswert! Einkaufen bei Coop in Lamporecchio

We rented a mobile home. The location is brilliant if you like sightseeing (Vinci, Pisa, Lucca, Florence) and cycling. Great climbs, especially from Vinci I enjoyed riding up. The staff are super friendly and some speak German. When... our daughter got injured, we didn't know when to thank everyone, several people were so helpful. The supermarket has the essentials. The restaurant was ok, but not a highlight. Opposite is another restaurant which was delicious but also very expensive. Children can go horse riding next door. The pool was loved by our three children (14/10/10) and visited every day if possible. The view from there is breathtaking, unfortunately the area is closed off in the evening and you can only see the whole thing from higher up. You can also hike if you don't miss the right turn-off. The pitches on the campsite are shady, which is really helpful in summer. Our children have decided that they want to come here again. The approach is a challenge for long motorhomes and caravans as the campsite is on a hill. For access, do not take the hairpin bend in the hairpin bend, but the 2 driveway through the village. The pitches are explained in detail at... reception or can be viewed by golf cart with an employee. The sanitary facilities are functional and clean. Depending on the pitch, you have to walk a few meters uphill to get to reception, the information desk or the well-stocked store. There are plenty of options on offer. We used the shuttle service to Vinci and the bus trips to Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The price/performance ratio is good. The exceptional friendliness of the staff deserves special mention. Great location, very friendly operators, great excursions and hikes on offer, clean sanitary blocks. The access road is quite steep in places, the turn-off in the village at an acute angle is difficult with a trailer, so don't listen to the sat nav, but take the second turn-off.
