The campsite has lots of shady pitches under old olive trees, so there are plenty of opportunities to hang up roofs or hammocks - it could be difficult for large, tall vehicles, as there are... only a few pitches that are not under the olive trees. The campsite has a small bar that also speaks German and serves ice cream, drinks, snacks at lunchtime and good meals in the evening. There is a gigantically good bakery and a very well-stocked supermarket just a few minutes' walk away, and there are several small but good restaurants on the beach.
The campsite is lovingly run, the operators are extremely friendly and many campers have been coming here for years. Lots of families, as the site is so manageable. The dishwashing area above the beach deserves a special mention - I've never washed up so nicely in my life. If you want, you can have a fridge brought to your pitch. Absolutely top price.
The sanitary facilities were always clean, even when fully occupied, few but just enough so that you didn't have to wait long. However, centrally located at the front, those at the back have a relatively long way to go, e.g. because there are only taps at the front.

There is no power connection for shavers, hairdryers etc. in the entire sanitary area. That's why the battery of my razor was low after 2 days. In order to be able to continue using it, I wanted to charge it at an... electric column. When the campsite manager saw this during his inspection tour, he ripped the machine and cable out of the socket and threw it into the hedges. - Luise M.August 2013We, a family with three children between 5 and 9, stayed on this pitch for just over a week until we moved on. The price was okay, but the site was very full. Loud fellow campers who couldn't control their kids from 7.00 a.m., noisy at night, dusty and dirty, poor sanitary conditions (too few toilets,... only cleaned once a day, no suitable toilets for small children), generally stressful atmosphere that you wouldn't want on vacation. If you wanted to go to the restaurant there spontaneously in the evening, you didn't get anything without a reservation? We were disappointed with this place and won't be coming again. - Key S.August 2013The campsite is overcrowded even beyond the season and looks very dusty and dingy. I had no idea why it scored so well overall. The reception staff were brusque and you had the feeling that you were only welcome as a paying tourist. Beyond that, there wasn't much going on. The pitches are anything but... spacious, the tents are close together and everything seems dark and very drab. In contrast, campsites in the immediate vicinity were much friendlier, had pools and you had space and the peace and quiet you want on vacation.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
Daniel H.July 2013We spent a total of 5 days at Camping Calamar. We spent the night in a tent. The upper part of the campsite is under olive trees, which give off a lot of sticky biomass. A tarp as protection from the falling resin is essential for the camping equipment you bring with you. In addition, there were small... white animals that infiltrated the outer skin of my olive green tent after a few days. The animals can be removed with a simple broom. The campsite itself is right on the beach, which is why we chose it. The staff are very friendly. A baker brings fresh baked goods to the site in the morning. Sanitary facilities not sufficient for the number of visitors, no separation between men and women. Sanitary facilities are only cleaned once a day. Very quiet, no loud music or entertainment in the evening. Price / performance very good. As we were only there at the end of August, the site was not overcrowded. The showers and toilets are a bit old but clean. The operators were very nice and friendly. Every morning a bakery truck... comes and brings fresh baked goods. The price of 25 euros a day for 4 people with car and pitch and with hot water is unbeatable. - Beate S.July 2011If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. The pitches are large and shady, the sanitary facilities are simple but well maintained and always clean. The site is located directly on the beautiful sandy beach. There is a small grocery store about 300 m away, or a large shopping... center about 5 km away. A baker brings baguettes etc. directly to the campsite in the morning. Dogs not a problem either on the pitch or on the beach. We will definitely be back!!!Automaatselt tõlgitud.

The bar is open in July and August, which is kind of cool. The sanitary facilities offer exactly... what I expect and are really clean! The location is really great, right on the long and never crowded sandy beach. During the second week, a small, simple bar opened next to the reception. All the staff and the owners are very helpful and... friendly. The sanitary facilities are simple but clean, from the second week you had to queue for the showers. Pitches are very shady and large enough at the back of the site. Power points are often quite far away. There is a nice restaurant with an ice cream parlor on the beach.
