- Eva B.October 2024Positiivsedgood location with great views, good connection to Merano, free bus tickets, nice and helpful staff - we were allowed to change pitches without any problemsNegatiivsedAt the end of October, beginning of November unfortunately only 3.5 hours of sun - so nothing dries out. The only sunny spots at this time of year are right next to the road Small placesShort trip at the end of OctoberDue to the late travel time, the pitches were unfortunately very shady.
Either no sun or max. 3.5 hours of sun.
The location is probably great in summer.
Beautiful view towards Merano.
Sanitary always clean

- Sebastian B.August 2024PositiivsedWell located Excellently organized Hotel restaurant can also be usedNegatiivsedWe find nothing to criticize here.Camping in the middle of Tyrol! We found the organization at the campsite to be excellent. The hotel is upstream, registration, payment and all processes run via the reception. This means that someone is always available. The hotel infrastructure with pools, restaurants and bars can be used. A bread roll service is available directly... from reception. The campsite is in an excellent location in the middle of a small plateau. The Merano 2000 gondola station is just a 2-minute walk away and takes you up to an altitude of over 2000 meters. There are also several hiking tours within easy reach. An excellent vacation.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Andrea R.July 2024PositiivsedRestaurant is beautiful Order rolls onlineNegatiivsedSanitary facilities were stylish, but unfortunately quite run-down and not clean. Pool is actually just a small children's pool, water much too warm and swimming not possible (too small). No parasols available at the pool. Very expensive 75 €/dayDisappointedOne third of our pitch consisted of metal lids, underneath were some kind of water containers (for which we paid €75 per day!!!)
Modern wash house was run down, probably no investment here.
Location was not ideal for us, no cycle paths down to Merano (cycle back up 300 meters in altitude).Automaatselt tõlgitud. - Marcel B.June 2024Positiivsed- Close to Merano - Good public transport connectionsNegatiivsedThe wet rooms are a cheekNever againAnother hotel that tries to do a bit of camping (although many hotels also do this very well) This has nothing to do with camping. 3 terraces laid out like a parking lot simply for large cars. No idea who likes that. We got a maxi pitch for 70! Euro a night excl. fees and electricity. No problem if the... infrastructure was also 70 euros. The sanitary facilities reminded me of the shelters in our community. Instead of building useless sloping walls, it would have been better to make them straight with windows. All the wet rooms are a hole. Dark and very outdated. As the toilet and showers are still in the same room and there are no windows, the odor emissions were really bad. Anyone who advertises modern sanitary facilities on their website should at least have clean ones that people like to use. A place for 30 euros but certainly not for 70 euros. The site is right on the main road at the end of the 50km zone. Everyone pulls up their vehicle there. We were with our bus for about 3 hours during the day and the night. It was annoyingly loud the whole time. Quiet location my ass. The pools are quite small. Hopefully the weather won't be as good as ours. It quickly gets uncomfortable if everyone wants to swim. One of them is a paddling pool only about 30 cm deep. Wellness can also be booked. We heard from other guests that it is good. We had booked 3 nights and left after one. We had communicated honestly why we wanted to leave. It was then finished quite quickly with very friendly...Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Astrid J.March 2024PositiivsedThe view of MeranoNegatiivsedA building site on the square, the bad smell (for several days) in the wash house, the burnt pizza and the unspeakably bad side salad to take away from the hotel restaurantUnfortunately disappointing! We have been there several times and were very disappointed this time. For example, I had asked for us to be seated in a certain row. This was apparently not possible, but I then realized that some of these seats were not occupied at all. On the second day, others came and walked around with the plan and chose a seat.
I can't recommend this place to anyone.Automaatselt tõlgitud. - Natalja H.April 2023PositiivsedBus connectionNegatiivsed- Washroom without windows, without waste garbage can in the WC and poorly ventilated - Pool unheated and only paddling pool size (1 meter or 30cm deep) - No minimarket, breakfast pastries relatively dry - Information at reception only superficially helpful for usMore appearance than realityFor 44€ per night plus additional electricity we expected more; not recommended for campers who love campsites!Automaatselt tõlgitud.

- Uwe B.October 2022PositiivsedFlawless and uncomplicated internet booking system. Pitches partly up to 8.5m, terraced with beautiful views of the Merano valley. Good bus connection to Merano. Hiking trails directly from the site. Hotel facilities can be used for an additional fee. Reliable bread roll service. Merano 2000 within walking distance. Water, waste water at the pitch, as well as electricity.NegatiivsedNo Go, the sanitary facilities, absolutely out of date if you call yourself multi-star. Still acceptable for single campsites. Details: showers and toilets together in a windowless, somewhat damp room. You can hear everything while showering. The washbasins are very basic and difficult for the service staff to clean, hence the false impression of dirt. No proper shelves for utensils and towels. Sink area not very good. Suggested remedy. Build over the pitch adjacent to the sanitary building, break through into the sanitary building and separate the toilets. Then it would be a top facility. Due to the topography, a little less sun in the fall. For those who are extremely sensitive to noise, the road is too close to the campsite. It didn't bother us. Gray water disposal only possible on a slope.Self-assessment slightly overvaluedThe campsite is beautifully situated not far from Schenna and the Meran 2000 valley station and the reception was very friendly. The pitches with a view of the valley are large enough, even for 8m WOMOs.
Somewhat limited sunlight in spring and fall, but fine.
The cycle paths are away from the busy road... from Merano to Merano 2000
(very unpleasant to ride on), all good. The bus connection, also until 23.00 from and to Merano, is good.
The reception should perhaps be retrained regarding bus connections, because if we had followed the recommendations here (supposedly no bus connection from 8 p.m. from October) we would have used the expensive cab that was written down for us.
The timetable enlightened us.Automaatselt tõlgitud. - S B.October 2022PositiivsedViewNegatiivsedVolume shade narrow pitches unsightly sanitary facilities Pool only for guests aged 12 and overMore appearance than realityThe noise from the adjacent road at the campsite was the worst. Large trucks and motorcycles pass by early from 06:00 with a lot of noise. This can be clearly heard throughout the campsite. The sanitary facilities were not always cleaned and doors or other small parts were broken. The special sanitary... building on the upper pitch was architecturally beautiful, but didn't serve its purpose. Inside everything is dark and it was all cheaply built so that dirt was very visible. Much of the hotel could not be used and was only for hotel guests, making you feel like second class. The infinity pool can only be used from the age of twelve. We should have known this beforehand. In spring and winter the sun hardly ever comes over the mountains as the campsite is very much nestled in the valley. This means that your clothes are always damp and never really dry. The moments when you can sit in the sun are few and far between. Unfortunately, we didn't like the campsite at all, so we won't be coming here again. However, it is suitable for an overnight stay.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Thomas & Christiane S.July 2022PositiivsedThe course is situated on terraces. Each pitch offers a view of Merano. The sanitary building at the top is very modern and built on a concrete base. We liked this style. Some people don't like it. The sanitary facilities are very clean. Cycling directly from the CP is not quite so exciting, as you can only get to Merano on the main road for about 3 km. If you know your way around, you can cycle via the Trautmanngärten shortcuts. But you have to know that. Hiking trails start directly from the campsite. The bus station is right next to the campsite. The chemical toilet requires a longer walk to empty. Otherwise, I would classify the place as a more beautiful pitch, as a typical campsite is more cozy. All in all, very pleasant for a stopover despite the smart hotel flair.NegatiivsedUnfortunately no shopping facilities. Milk and bread service at the hotel to pick up. So if you are traveling with a motorhome, you should stock up well in advance.Short stayThe place certainly deserves 4 stars. The pool is nice and fresh and you can see all around the area. Despite the samart hotel, we found that we were welcome as camping guests. You can also book a rental bathroom. However, wellness costs extra and is estimated at 35 euros for the whole day and 15 euros from 4 pm.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Thomas G.July 2022PositiivsedSpace and sanitary facilitiesNegatiivsedGives nothingTop addresses in MeranoTop campsite with super sanitary facilities and everything piccobello clean, very well maintained facility with extremely friendly staff, both at the reception and in the restaurant!
Very nice place with great connections by bus to Merano or via various Waalwege!
500m to the mountain railroad for hiking... or biking!
And to the new campers here who, like everywhere else, are looking for a fly in the ointment: first learn how to say hello when you walk across the campsite and best of all teach your cell phone-addled offshoots to do the same, because what makes camping special is the community on the campsite and not your elbow-social egoism!Automaatselt tõlgitud. - iris r.June 2022PositiivsedProximity to Merano, Merano 2000, hiking trailsNegatiivsedThe road is audible, lots of movement on the campsite due to frequent arrivals and departures. Rather intended for transitCamping in a central locationWe were there in June and were disappointed at first, as the location is very central and beautiful, but the campsite seems quite anonymous. Most campers only spend a short time here. Due to the constant arrivals and departures and the constant changes, you don't really get the camping feeling.
Nevertheless,... we had a great time here and will definitely be back. The location should be emphasized, in the middle of apple orchards. The Cp is clean, very nice sanitary facilities in the upper area. I would avoid the pitches facing the road as they are noisier. (our feeling)
We also ate very well in the restaurant. Electricity has to be paid separately.
Great hiking trails nearby and great restaurants. We have never eaten as well as at the Greitererhof. (20 min)

- Franz B.May 2022PositiivsedNear the mountain railroadNegatiivsedsee commentModern does not have to be user-friendlyThe upper, "modern" sanitary building is anything but user-friendly. Instead of the expensive, sloping walls, it would have been better to install windows.
You have to take a headlamp with you when washing dishes, as there is no daylight and very poor lighting, so you can't check the cleanliness of the dishes in the room. In addition, you only see a groundsman on Saturdays, which means that coarse garbage remains on the pitches for a long time.Automaatselt tõlgitud. - Monika M.October 2021PositiivsedFast connection to Merano 200NegatiivsedOnly sparse sunshine in the fall monthsTradition meets modernA very nice place. - G. B.September 2021PositiivsedClose to the mountain and the Merano 2000 mountain station Many hiking possibilitiesNegatiivsedonly bread service on siteClose to the mountainThe Hermitage campsite is just a few minutes away from the valley station of the Merano 2000 cable car. Campsite guests can use the facilities of the Hotel Prinz Rudolf, as the campsite belongs to the hotel. We had the impression that not every employee was familiar with the campsite facilities. The... staff at the reception is professionally friendly to unfriendly to the campsite guests. The CP is actually a motorhome site, which also accommodates caravans and is suitable for motorhomes up to eight meters. There are two very different sanitary buildings. Basically, we didn't like one or the other.
Sloping walls and pink floors are not to our taste. The central drainage channel of the other sanitary building, which collects the residual waste water from the showers, wasn't great for us either.
There were no dog stations or dog showers on the site. With the exception of the bread roll service, there are no catering facilities directly on site.
We did not visit the hotel restaurant.
Due to the excellent hiking possibilities of Merano 2000, we will definitely visit CP Hermitage again.Automaatselt tõlgitud. - Petra W.July 2021PositiivsedSimply everythingNegatiivsedNoneSuperOur inquiry and booking were processed very quickly. As described, the site is located in the beautiful natural surroundings of South Tyrol, surrounded by orchards and the edge of the forest. And yet you can get to Merano quickly by bus, which is just a few steps away.
All the staff, whether reception,... service etc, were very helpful and friendly.
The sanitary facilities were always spotlessly clean and are very attractive. The food in the restaurant was also very tasty.

Summary:
Merano is always worth a visit!
Thanks to the team at Hotel Prinz Rudolf for their friendliness and excellent hospitality!
The adjoining "Terrassen" campsite is highly recommended!
The location is unique.
Having breakfast every day in the sunshine with... a breathtaking view is fantastic.
The campsite was actually an "alternative site", as my original campsite, which I had known for many years and regularly visited, didn't have a place for me.
However, this "alternative accommodation" turned out to be a real stroke of luck and I now have 2 very good addresses in Merano and the surrounding area that I will go to at any time without thinking twice.
The "ToGo" food from the hotel kitchen is also very tasty and I think it's very good for "hotel prices"!
Since there is no supermarket around the corner, a "Semmelservice PLUS" is offered, where all the necessary standard items are delivered to reception for collection the following day if ordered the day before.
I also love the offer to use the hotel's wellness area for an extra charge!
Hiking is possible from the campsite, all the Waalwege in the area are within easy reach. The cable car to Merano 2000 is just a few hundred meters away on foot. Reaching the campsite by bike is sporty, but no problem with an e-bike! These are available for hire at the hotel! A great fleet included. E-Smart, which can be rented on a daily basis.
The adjacent main road is audible during the day, but fine (actually you are usually out in nature during the day! :-) At night there is no traffic on the road to Hafling. This ensures a very restful sleep.
Finally, I would like to emphasize the really friendly, courteous and helpful guys at the reception AND the also very friendly lady at the bar (food ToGo reception/outlet). You really do a great job. :-)Automaatselt tõlgitud. - Sibylle L.September 2019PositiivsedGood locationNegatiivsedReception, Noise (street), Cleanliness private bathroomWellThe campsite does not deserve a 4-star rating. It's in a good location, but the pitches are extremely tight. And if we hadn't already booked, the 'super-friendly' reception would have just catapulted us out again. We've never been welcomed like this before - that's clearly half of the 4th star that's... been lost. The other half therefore: We had a private bathroom with daily cleaning. During the whole 8 days there were the same dead animals on the floor and hair from previous guests collected in the shower. The water-saving button on the WC flush did not work... in this day and age? And as far as the lighting is concerned: 0 points. You can safely save this amount. I think 3 stars would be appropriate, with 4 stars we expected much more. And just: On the left side is the extremely loud and busy road. If you have the windows open at night, it's very loud.Automaatselt tõlgitud.Vastas Camping Hermitage September 30, 2019Dear Ms. Sibylle,
You were at our campsite in September, in the absolute high season in Merano, and you did well to book in advance. Unfortunately, we don't understand your comment, but perhaps you noticed that we had to send many campers away again because everything was full? Believe us, we would... much rather be able to tell our guests that we have a nice place for them than have to send them away, but when the campsite is full, we unfortunately have no other option...
If a guest doesn't find something to their complete satisfaction, we always advise them to let us know straight away, because then we still have the opportunity to take action. To say nothing and then write a negative review is extremely unfortunate and unfair.
Nevertheless, we hope that you had a pleasant stay in Merano and send you our regards
