You really feel like you're being watched and if something doesn't "fit" you are made aware of it quite forcefully.Great place, difficult operatorsThe Hohes Rad campsite is a beautifully situated site with an adjacent entrance to the Diemelsee lake.
The pitches are mostly flat and of a good size. Everything is really clean, even if the sanitary facilities are getting on in years. Nevertheless, you feel comfortable and can't complain about the functionality... of the washing facilities.
There is even a washing machine and dryer.
Dogs are tolerated and are allowed on the pitch on a lead. However, they should also be kept on a permanent lead on their own pitch.
There is a large playground and a bar on the adjacent beach. There is also a dog beach a few meters away.
Later in the evening, however, you quickly notice that the clientele on the beach changes. We no longer felt so comfortable there.
The price of the place was also very interesting (in a positive sense). We were surprised how inexpensive the stay was.
The only thing we didn't like and unfortunately, despite the many positive things, we won't be visiting the Hohe Rad again is the way it is run.
You almost feel like you're being watched...
If something was noticed that was not desired (the neighbors' dog was not leashed immediately after leaving the Wowa but only three meters later), it was noted quite directly and in an unfriendly manner. This is just an example.

Unique sunrises over the lake. We felt completely at ease. Quiet (only the construction work of the city administration could be heard in the distance from time to time, but didn't bother us too much). The site operator... was friendly and accommodating. Lots of rules, but they make sense in themselves - that's why we didn't see them as a restriction. Everything clean and well-kept. Bread roll service if ordered in advance. Supermarkets 8 km away in Adorf. Cycling around the lake, sunbathing on the nearby beach, eating ice cream in Heringhausen (2 km), and many paragliding sites in the area. When you check in, you are immediately told the rules of the site in a "commanding tone". (It can also be done in a friendlier way...) You can only pay with an EC card from €50. The electricity was also charged at just under 2 KW. When... you asked the sergeant that it couldn't be, you get the answer "our meters are all calibrated" (mine in the mobile home is also calibrated) The groundsman is "on the contrary" very nice. The medical staff also leave a lot to be desired. Sunday morning at 8 a.m. there was no paper (120 grit sandpaper) in 2 of the 4 toilets (for the men) and one was full of shit. Short-term campers are not allowed in the permanent pitch area. (Prohibition signs) Otherwise the area is very beautiful and there is also a nice dog beach 300m away. The shore is directly accessible from all sides. Large sunbathing lawn with beach bar and playgrounds directly in front of the campsite. Leisure facilities in the village (5 minutes away by bike) - felt golf with hikers'... hut, boat hire for tours across the Diemelsee, indoor swimming pool. The site is located directly on the reservoir with direct access to the sunbathing lawn. Swimming and fishing are permitted almost all around the lake. The village is just a few minutes' walk away and there is a delicious restaurant in the Seehotel. Shopping facilities... are available in the next larger town, approx. 6 km away. Bread roll service directly on the CP. The sanitary facilities on the campsite are perhaps not the most modern, but were always clean during our stay and the whole site made a well-kept impression. When we arrived (at the beginning of the week) we still had a free choice between several pitches :-) . It is advisable to have an extension cable with you or a cable reel of more than 10m, as the electricity boxes (billed by the kW) are sometimes a little further away. For cyclists, there are - better and worse - signposted cycle paths to explore the surrounding area.Automaatselt tõlgitud.

There is also a washing machine and dryer. We were guests at the campsite from 27.6.14 for 10 days and felt very comfortable. The operators are friendly and helpful. Dogs are to be kept on a leash on the site (as... usual). The 14 km long cycle path around the lake is easy to cycle and is ideal for walking and cycling. Swimming is possible just a few meters from the campsite. The lake has very clean and clear water. - Monika d.June 2013Were only there to visit. Operator was not exactly friendly. Prices for the standard offered (especially sanitary facilities) outrageously expensive. I can only agree with one of the previous speakers. Very outdated. You get the impression from all the campsites around the Diemelsee that they don't really... care about transit campers. The majority are occupied by permanent campers anyway. I assume that if the festival campers don't complain about the sanitary facilities (and I don't just mean this site; sanitary facilities and the sometimes unbearable smell of faeces), everything will remain in a dilapidated state for decades to come. It's a shame you could make much more of it with the fantastic location on the lakeAutomaatselt tõlgitud.

- A. B.August 2012The Hohes Rad camping park is in no way recommended for dog owners. The tenant, especially the female tenant, is absolutely dog-hostile and thinks she has to take offense if you don't keep your dog on a short leash at the motorhome/caravan. As a dog owner, you are not a guest who feels at home there,... but have to let the tenant grumble at you. She has put us off and won't be seeing us there again. This kind of behavior is not acceptable. The sanitary facilities are old and some of them have not been repaired properly. Some of it looks like a hodgepodge from the DIY store. With the pitch fees charged, however, this is another NO GO. The light in the toilet building works with motion detectors, woe betide anyone who has to go to the toilet for more than 5 minutes at night. You'll be standing in the dark. Another big minus for the fact that the washroom is locked from 10 pm.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
