nice little campsite
We really liked the campsite...it's just a shame that there are only two showers without doors for the ladies. It's a bit like a communal shower...there's only a door in front of the shower room. A little more privacy and intimacy would have been nice. In the toilet room there are three washbasins with... cold water...it's a shame that there isn't also hot water. What's more, the washbasins are extremely low and more suitable for people who are not so tall. And my husband and I are not "giants" (1.83 and 1.78). The same "problem" for the men...there is one shower for the whole place...but with a door in front of the cubicle ;-) and unfortunately with a waiting time (no wonder with only one shower). Otherwise the sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. In our opinion, this site is sufficient for one night. But we will probably look for another place soon when we are in the area. We are absolutely not "picky campers", but we do expect a certain standard from a campsite, especially in this day and age (hot water and sufficient showers/shower cubicles).

Beautiful location on the banks of the Saar with nice views of the steep riverbank. A very nice field for tent campers located among the fields along the river. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The campground is quiet. Near (5 minutes) the campground is a commercial center where you can do all your shopping. (Also electronics/smartphone accessories.) Not romantic, but practical)
Negatiivsed
Across the street is a traffic road and a train track over which there is also freight traffic. But I quickly got used to that. Toilet building is excellent but very noisy due to the roof construction used.

An excellent base for bike tours because the bike path along the Saar passes by the campsite. Also easy to make a trip to Trier, Saarburg and the Saar Loop. But also to make a day trip to Metz in France (Centre Pompidou annex) or the city of Luxembourg. And the Roman villa at Borg or the industrial heritage... (Unesco) at Völklingen. Also many wine tastings (Weingüter). And this stretch of the Saar is really in a breathtakingly beautiful landscape. Also deviate for a moment from the bike path along the Saar. It is precisely in the hills along the Saar that you have the most beautiful views of the wine landscape.

Peace and relaxation right on the banks of the Saar
Chance hit
Unfortunately, the site is only listed in a few camping guides, so we only found it by chance. The site was almost empty and offered pure peace and relaxation right on the banks of the Saar. We really enjoyed it and stayed longer than planned. We'd love to come again.

Lovely quiet campground with extremely nice owner. Slightly older but clean and well-functioning plumbing. Area offers plenty of shopping / recreation opportunities so the lack thereof at the campsite is compensated. You can drink something in the cafe and on the terrace of the campsite and a small simple... snack. (Recommended for people who seek peace and nature and not expensive. We came there several times, unfortunately now due to circumstances not possible but in the future we hope to do so again.
