Campsite in a beautiful location
We stayed at the campsite in September and had a mixed feeling about it, the location of the site is really nice and the site itself is not bad, hedges and paths were very well maintained. However, the same cannot be said of the sanitary building.
Here it was very dirty and unkempt, sand everywhere,... cobwebs, shower walls not cleaned for months and round corners when wiping.it made rather the impression clean is superficial here. The owner said that he cleans it himself so that it would be cleaner. We looked for this in vain.
On departure, however, he said that the sanitary building will be redone in the shower area from October 2023.

Vacation canceled after 2 days!
Apart from the beautiful location and a fish smokehouse, the site unfortunately has nothing to offer. The dirty sanitary facilities, the very small pitch (despite the size of the caravan having been specified in advance) and the rudeness of the manageress of the site prompted us to move to another campsite... after 2 days so that we could have a nice vacation. The restaurant on the site was only partially open on the two days due to a lack of staff. Not suitable for families with babies/toddlers and they are obviously not welcome. Too bad, but unfortunately not worth the trip.

We were here in 2018 with a tent and I have to say we will never do it again.pitches too small,hard stone floor,to shower you need 1€ coins.showers closed from 10pm.there is no free offer.in short I can not recommend.

Short and sweet. IS NOT POSSIBLE!!! Space: too small!!! Car does not fit on it. Sanitary facilities: Disaster! !! Who wants to get a private picture sent with overflowing toilet contents. After 10 p.m. the boss comes to every place with a flashlight and practically puts you to bed. We then had a fierce... exchange of words and were then expelled from the place. If you're almost dead or want to feel what it's like in youth hostels and like to be reprimanded, you're in good hands there. I would also like to mention that the blonde lady and the young man at reception were incredibly nice, as was the older gentleman who helped us more than once. It's no use, what they build up, the boss tears down again with her presence. Conclusion: move on...there are better places

Warning: simply a nasty rip-off and a rip-off! Four of us (2 couples) arrived after 90km by bike and 2 tents. At first we were told there were no more places. When the lady at reception then realized that we had come by bike, there were still pitches, because they make an exception for hikers and cyclists.... They want to be a family campsite and don't like noisy groups. Fine, we just wanted to pitch our tent and sleep comfortably, we thought. We also had to pay an additional 20 euros per person 'behavior deposit' to make sure we behaved ourselves. We scraped together the last of our cash, as you can't pay by card anywhere in the village. Of course, you can only pay the behavioral deposit in cash. So after checking in, we had to go to the nearest ATM 8 km away to secure our dinner. Back at the campsite, the showers were closed from 10pm. Thank you very much! The entire campsite has to share 2 washbasins in the sanitary facilities from 10 o'clock in the evening, a great idea for 'toothbrushing happy hour'. After 10 p.m. it was anything but quiet, because the party campers simply wandered 1m next to the campsite with loudspeakers (i.e. behind the red and white barrier tape that separates the campsite from the public beach) and shouted and listened to loud music all night long. The 'behavioral deposit' rule is really a bad joke! A few meters further on there were also other party wild campers. Reaction from the receptionist: yes, we'll have to put up with it. It's just a rip-off: even 10 euros for a tent pitch is too much, especially as showers (if they are open) cost extra. There is no electricity on the normal campsites anyway, which are also not separated. So instead of visiting the campsite, it's best to simply pitch your tent 1m next to the campsite (or further along the edge of the forest) and use the public showers (which you can also buy with tokens for 1 euro) and toilets at the lido.

Front campsite noisy
Nice location...small place
Camped there one night with a tent while passing through. Had bad luck with the night's sleep. Location with tent on the water was nice. Sani too. Bread rolls and restaurants as well as bathing meadow around the corner. If you want peace and quiet you have to retreat to the rear part without direct access to the lake.

Great location but otherwise not worth 4 stars
Great location of the site. The places are OK from water and power box loose and TV reception as in the 80's. Sanitary area is no longer possible today. Showers ancient and the toilet no ventilation and also outdated.from 22:00 clock silence on the place the owner pulls this also mercilessly!!!! Very bad service to the customer, I think the operators do not really want to make a great campsite out of the place.

Slightly better parking space
Quiet location right on the lake, but that's it. Pitch costs over 30 euros in April. Plus electricity and shower separately for 1 euro. In return, there's a pitch, clay ground without grass, on which I couldn't even open the tent. I'd rather have a pitch, then you know what you're getting.

Terrible!
The pitches are far too small and have stony ground. The sanitary facilities are unacceptable. There is a permanent awful smell in the toilets and some of the showers are moldy. You also need €1 coins to shower, which is very annoying and outdated. There are only 2 sockets in the washroom. There is only... partial hot water in the scullery. The small market has a very minimalist offer. Almost no fresh fruit and vegetables. The selection of bread rolls is quite good. The positive thing about this place is the beautiful location and the beach, which is very suitable for children. The numerous leisure activities are also great. All in all, I would not recommend this place. The prices are completely exaggerated and the 4 star rating is in no way appropriate.

Fortunately, we were only there for one night. The tent pitches had a terribly stony ground, so setting up the tent was a real test... We even had to leave the campsite in the evening so that we could have a conversation at all (we were immediately warned to be quiet at the slightest noise). To make... matters worse, the woman at reception was also extremely unfriendly and used bad language several times. That's no way to win over guests! We love the Edersee, but we will do without such places in the future!

Campsite is divided by a public road, so you may have to cross a public road (children?) No showers after 22.00 hrs.
Edersee definitely again, Rehbach not
We booked a comfort pitch for 3 days for a motorcycle trip and were quite shocked that barely 3 motorcycles and 2 igloos fitted on the pitch. Stony ground prevents pegs from being hammered in; in wet weather, the pitch without grass is not great because you constantly get wet earth in your tent. Motorhomes... and large caravans are even worse off in terms of space. The part of the campsite directly on the lake has almost no shade, the other part is well shaded. The video surveillance in the washroom was disconcerting. I would have liked privacy there. To get to the wash house we had to cross the public road and walk past full garbage containers. From 22.00h you can no longer shower. An employee of the campsite walks around the site from 22.00h and prohibits even quiet conversations in front of the tents. From 21.30h there is no hot food in the restaurant next to the campsite, when we were there the kitchen was already closed at 20.00h due to the heat. The beach is partly rocky and right next to a jetty. The office doesn't open until 9.00 a.m. Departures before then are only possible if you're lucky and a member of staff opens the office earlier. Attention: Prepayment is required, a receipt of payment is not sufficient as proof. If the money has not been credited to the campsite's account, you will have to pay again and will only get your money back later.

Very quiet and beautifully situated campsite
We were there over May 1st and the campsite was fully booked. It is located directly on the Edersee, with a harbor right in front of it. The access road is very narrow, the pitch even narrower, the pitches narrow, about 50 square meters. There is also a hedge around every pitch and some have tall trees.... There was no grass to be seen on the pitch, just loose earth. If you're looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. There are restaurants and a beach bar right next to the site. Dogs are not allowed and you have to cross the turning area to get to the sanitary facilities. There is a small store right next to the campsite, the snack bar is closed! You can go hiking or cycling from the site. The site is not suitable for larger caravans and motorhomes as there is simply not enough space.

We went on vacation with our little daughter to the Edersee (5 days) and went to the Rehbach campsite on recommendation. The biggest plus of the campsite is definitely its location! We camped right by the water and enjoyed breakfast and dinner right by the lake. Pure camping luxury :-) Electricity was... also available on the tent site. It was just a shame that the ground was quite hard and we had trouble hammering in our pegs (but it worked with a hammer). The owner explained to us that the site is under water most of the year, which is why there is no "tent meadow". The sanitary facilities were as clean as you could wish for, just as the site is generally kept very clean (twice a day we saw someone walking around with tongs). We would like to see a bathing pool for small children in the sanitary facilities. Perhaps as a suggestion :) We met a very nice and motivated staff, which is also important to feel comfortable on a campsite! Nice people also at the snack bar, the small supermarket (prices okay, fresh bread rolls to order) and the fish smokehouse! The night's rest seems to be taken quite strictly, which was of course very good for us as young parents. The direct proximity to the public beach (gravel) and the playground is also child-friendly. We also found plenty of leisure activities in the surrounding area. We really enjoyed it and can recommend the Edersee and the Rehbach campsite :-) Till, Lena & Paula

Never again!!!!
We will avoid this place forever, places like pegs in a tin, hardly any space, everything too narrow. Showers and WC like in the 70s. Unfortunately money thrown out four stars laughable !!!! and very expensive, rip-off

We (a young couple) wanted to spend a relaxing weekend with our tent at the Edersee. When we were looking for a place, the website made a good impression. Definitely the last time we booked a site without checking the reviews. As soon as we arrived, we met the "sheriff" who immediately and firmly told... us to put in a parking disk, although we only wanted to report briefly to reception. In general, the staff were not really service-oriented. The location of the campsite is great, but it was still very noisy well after 10pm. The pitch is very hard in places, fortunately we were not allocated one of the pitches in the sanitary building. The cleaning staff tried hard, but couldn't seem to cope with the rush to the sanitary facilities, so that the showers in particular didn't look particularly attractive. In our opinion, the fact that you always have to have a euro ready to shower is no longer in keeping with the times. In the end, we broke off our stay early, which we also announced. Nobody was interested in why, but we were told MULTIPLE times (not very friendly) that we would not get any money back. The area around the Edersee is beautiful, but we won't be staying at this campsite again.

The location of the campsite is really nice. However, we cannot recommend this site. Some of the pitches are extremely crooked, narrow and without grass, bare earth! The access road is also very narrow. Our motorhome is 6.80m long. If you want to use your satellite system, you should find out about the... pitch in advance. Some of the pitches are under large trees, no reception! The branches hang down to the roof. However, you can rent a cable for the cable connection. The pitch rent is not exactly cheap either, you have to pay an extra €1 for the shower. Water is then available for about 6 minutes. There is one wash cubicle for women and none for men. Rehbach is also not known for its goodwill. We had booked for two nights and my wife fell ill during the night on the first day. We left the next morning, right after registration opened. Had to pay for two full nights (€47.20!!! motorhome and two adults). Overall, the place is outdated and only feeds on the location.

Despite good criteria (DCC) and "nice pictures" on the internet as well as early booking/reservation, the only good thing about this site was the staff (extremely friendly and helpful). We arrived with 2 caravans and luckily were allowed to see our allocated, booked pitches before registration..... It... was horrible! We were "parked" directly behind the fence of the waste disposal point of the fish restaurant and the second pitch was directly behind the restaurant with the smell of fresh fish and deep fryers every day. The pitch was so small that our car no longer fitted on it or we could have just sat in the camper van. Shady pitches are sometimes quite pleasant in summer but under such large and shady trees it was just dark. Although it was sunny and warm, we only sat in the shade, which in turn was very cool during the day. Oh yes, this was also a comfort pitch. The only comfort there was that fresh water, waste water and electricity were directly at the pitch. However, with our 4.50 m camper van, the pitch was already completely full, awning or awning would not have fitted, as the footpath ran directly in front of it. The sanitary facilities were fine and clean. The night's sleep..... takes some getting used to, as the raccoons work on the restaurant's garbage cans (containers!) at night (banging lids, the animals argue very loudly and fight, loud smacking and scratching). Only the scar of "green turf" was visible as grass. The whole site was very small and narrow. Maneuvering not possible (caravans had to be parked in and out by hand!). We only stayed 1 night instead of the booked 10 nights! The advantage here was that the deposit paid in the high season (€30 per pitch) was offset against the stay. We were massively disappointed with the whole place - the area around the Edersee was still very beautiful. After driving on (approx. 30 km) we were still able to spend a wonderful vacation!

We were there for the second time this year because we really like it. The site is in a beautiful location and the comfort pitches are big enough for a motorhome. There are plenty of leisure activities and basic food supplies are also available nearby. The staff are extremely friendly, the prices are... reasonable, and if you don't expect gold-plated taps, you can be quite satisfied with the sanitary facilities. There are certainly enough of them and they were always clean when we wanted to use them. We will definitely be back again and have recommended the site to friends.
