- Jörg G.July 2023PositiivsedUnfortunately I can't say anything about it 🤨NegatiivsedWe had planned to spend a few nice days at the Schwalkenberg campsite in July 23. We are both gainfully employed and would have had a journey of around 5 hours. I had asked beforehand if it would be a problem if we arrived a little later as we had to work until 3pm on the day of arrival. I was told that it would not be a problem and I was given a cell phone number to call. But unfortunately due to traffic jams and construction sites the journey was extended from 5 to almost 7 hours, so I called the cell phone number. It was about 8.30 pm and I was told to call again if we still had an hour to get to the campsite, so when we still had an hour to go (and were already looking forward to the campsite) I called again !!!!!!!! I was just made a fool of, he supposedly knew nothing more, was audibly drunk and did not respond to any calls. We were pissed off, it was cold and it was raining 😡😡😡😡 so we didn't feel like going to this campground anymore. The next morning I sent an e-mail to vent my anger. They had politely apologized and offered us a free weekend for this year 2024 . Then I wrote to the campsite a week ago and asked when it would fit and they would have a pitch 😂😂😂😂 and what can I say? They ignored me until now and I don't think they will get back to me either. SO WE AGAIN CAMPSITE SCHWALKENBERG ????? NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!First and last attempt to get a parking spaceI can't say anything about it because we didn't go to the campsite because we were really pissed off 😡😡Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Günter M.June 2023PositiivsedTop location and great water.NegatiivsedAn outdated, unkempt site with catastrophic access.A place with many downsidesTourist pitches on some meadow areas with extremely high, unkempt trees and shrubs. Lake view and SAT reception impossible or severely restricted. Part of the site with permanent campers where the first row is barred from access to the water by fences and prohibition signs. The only thing missing are... the automatic firing systems from the former nearby GDR border,
Outdated sanitary facilities. Supply and disposal for campers / caravans behind the house are unreasonable and disgusting next to the dishwashers. Incorrect cables and sockets on the ground. Baked bread rolls are available in the morning from 8-9 am. Nothing else. The location is great, but everything else is not worth €29 a day.Automaatselt tõlgitud.Vastas Campingplatz Schwalkenberg February 8, 2024We will have a new team at the campsite from 2024 and are working hard to rectify the issues mentioned. Preparations for the coming season are in full swing. However, we need some time to meet all the requirements.Automaatselt tõlgitud. - Wolfgang P.July 2022PositiivsedUnparzellierter place + very quiet. Very quick access to the town by boat.NegatiivsedThe overland route to the city is long.Beautifully situated natural campsiteThe site is very quiet and certainly interesting for water sports enthusiasts. Not particularly suitable for motorhomes and cyclists. The cycle paths around the Ratzeburger See are quite demanding and not for the normal touring cyclist.
Only 3 points were awarded for the catering, as there is only a bread roll service and more would also disturb the character of this place.Automaatselt tõlgitud. - Gritt K.May 2022PositiivsedThe location on Ratzeburger See and Domsee is unbeatable. The places are sufficient ...you have space and can feel comfortable. The bread roll service is great ... just like the operators, who are quite uncomplicated.NegatiivsedThe sanitary facilities are definitely in need of renovation. I think it's a shame that the sanitary facilities are divided between the permanent campers and the normal guests...it doesn't have to be that way. The access road is a challenge both on the outward journey, but even more so on the return journey. You need strong nerves.Small paradise with potentialBeautiful place, very well located, pure nature, for all age groups. But improvement in the sanitary facilities is absolutely necessary.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Marion P.May 2021PositiivsedNice and helpful staff, well-kept place, quiet location, ideal for water sports (canoeing, kayaking, SUP, sailing...) Hiking, cycling etc. is also good. Sanitary facilities very clean, cleaned several times a day. We will definitely be back.NegatiivsedTwo wash houses, one of which is reserved for permanent campers only. Too few for short-term guests in times of Corona, because distance and hygiene rules must be observed.Very beautiful natural campsiteWe felt very comfortable here, had an incredible amount of space, nice campers, short distances to the water. Kayaks, pedal boats and bicycles available for hire. Small bathing beach. Playground available. The weather was perfect. Pitch too. Great value for money, electricity, showers and water all included.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Detlef D.September 2019PositiivsedGreat locationNegatiivsedDishwashing facilities outside. Our tractor rideAfter a somewhat bumpy journey, a superbly located site awaited us. Directly on the lake, swimming facilities with a "monkey swing", awesome. We were warmly welcomed, marveled at and photographed with 2 vintage tractors and caravans.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Manfred K.August 2018Very nice lie, but otherwise......Very nice location, but that was it. We wanted to spend a weekend on the campsite in August, but left after checking in. The owner was drunk, the wash house and toilets were filthy, the drinking water hose was in the dirt and everything was very unkempt. We then drove to Naturcamping Buchholz on Ratzeburger See.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Jörn S.May 2018PositiivsedLocation, location, location.Very satisfiedWe stayed at the site over Whitsun 2018 and were really impressed. We had a great pitch with a view of Lake Ratzeburg, friendly neighbors and even though it was very busy at the bathing area, we were never annoyed by the noise.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Friedrich-Wilhelm K.September 2017PositiivsedLeisure activities on and in the lake with a wonderful view of Ratzeburg Cathedral. Especially in the evening around a campfire.NegatiivsedThe site cannot cope with too many short-term campers. Then it gets cramped in the sanitary facilities.Perfect place for families with childrenI have been a camper on the site for almost 10 years and cannot understand reviews from December 2015, as the campsite is not actually open at this time and therefore the surroundings (boats parked in winter, etc.) cannot be a yardstick for the season. I am glad that the site is left in its natural state. A wonderful place for nature lovers.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Ollsky M.September 2017Positiivsed-super nice Platzwirt -natural place -large trees -Bathing area -canoe rental -incredibly impressive view of RatzeburgNegatiivsedsomewhat older sanitary facilities (but no real disadvantage for me)Any time againThe site is very quiet and surrounded by idyllic nature. You have an incredible view of Ratzeburg Cathedral from some of the pitches. There are also some free pitches right by the water. The groundsman Heino is very nice and happy to help wherever he can. You can hire canoes on the site. There is also... a bathing area and a rope for jumping/swinging into the water. Shopping facilities are unfortunately somewhat limited except for the kiosk. But you can paddle across the lake to Ratzeburg in 10 minutes by canoe and go shopping there. The place is very natural with beautiful large trees, which we liked very much. Can't understand some of the complaints here that the pitches are not fixed and are paved with paving slabs and the trees make satellite reception of the caravan impossible etc. This is a campsite in the countryside and not a motorhome park, which is more like a parking lot. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but okay. The showers are included in the price and you don't need tokens. Cleanliness was fine. The site is a paradise for children. If you like idyllic, natural campsites, this is the place for you.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Tine G.August 2017PositiivsedNo cars on the campsite, wonderfully quiet location, fantastic bathing area, unspoilt, naturea gem - quite wonderful :-)such a beautiful place !!! no cars are allowed on the large campground !!! that alone is hardly to be found anywhere today !!! how beautiful it is and how relaxing, you only realize when you have noticed this extraordinary condition. and a fantastic bathing place !!! we were totally thrilled from the... beginning and try to come back every year since then (be careful - don't advertise too much!) we wish the operators continued success and that the place will continue to exist in this form for a very long time !!!Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Chris D.June 2017PositiivsedChild-friendlyNegatiivsedUnkempt and slowly decayingBeautifully situated - that's what it wasLocation of course top Children and dogs welcome But - sanitary facilities unkempt, unclean (once a day is not enough at the Pentecost rush). Group changing room for showering and if you want to use the toilet you can tear off the toilet paper in front of the cabin - escape routes were blocked - when... it rains the place turns into a mud landscape - there's stuff lying around everywhere - operators are friendly on arrival but that's it. Should get a calculator A place with potential but also nature camping wants to be maintained and maintainedAutomaatselt tõlgitud.
- Tim C.June 2017PositiivsedGreat location. Good opportunity to use a canoeNegatiivsedUnclean Lots of rumble corners Sanitary facilities No reservation Too few power boxesOnce and never againAs the predecessors have written very muddy place. Sanitary facilities old and no longer up to date. Not really clean either due to the large crowds. All in all, very poor value for money. I had also made a reservation and received confirmation by email. On the pitch I was then told: reservation is not... possible. If full then full. Too bad. You could have just written it in the email. I left a day earlier than planned. As the groundsman needed the pitch for the following ones, you were more or less kicked off the pitch. Although you had paid for the night longer. So once and never again. However, the site is in a great location. And if you don't care much about clean sanitary facilities and like to drive your car and walk through mud, this is certainly the right place for you. For children and dogs, however, the site is really great. You can let off steam. And there's really no noticeable mess.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Renate K.September 2016PositiivsedLocation, trees, bathing lake, friendly staff, good atmosphereNegatiivsedApproach very bumpy, sanitary facilities unkemptLocation unbeatably beautiful, cleanliness inadequateEspecially on hot days, the square with a great view of the cathedral is nice for bathing and swimming. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is generally good. The ladies toilets, however......I never noticed any cleaning. The dirt from Sunday evening was still there on Fridays. Garbage cans in the cubicles were overflowing. Yes, too bad, otherwise we really liked it.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- RC R.May 2016PositiivsedTop location, pleasantly quietNegatiivsedSanitary facilities in need of renovationTop location, otherwise so LaLaWe were on the site at Whitsun 2016: The location of the site is great. The approach to the last 2km is difficult because of the cobblestones. The sanitary facilities take some getting used to, estimated to have been built in the early 80s. Open showers with shared changing rooms are no longer up to date. If there are two larger groups (approx. 80 people) on the site, it is not enough to clean the sanitary facilities once a day.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Martin R.April 2016Positiivsedgreat view of Lake Ratzeburg, sanitary facilitiesNegatiivsedApproach (the last two kilometers!), mostly unkempt, lots of mud after rain, bells ringing even at nightNot again...We were on the site in mid-April 2016. Even the approach to the site is difficult. The last 2 kilometers of road to the site lead over cobblestones of the worst kind (uneven, potholes, sharp edges, just like you still know it in some forgotten small towns in the new federal states), so that a lot will... certainly be shaken up in the caravan. And on the last 200m there is a steep downhill section, which is also paved with the stupid cobblestones and a sandy path, without a gradient, but also quite uneven, and of course muddy when wet. And on the way down, you have to climb the steep hill again. Our 140 hp diesel was really struggling with 1600 kg of caravan behind it, the wheels often spun briefly. This stretch alone is reason enough for us not to return to this site. Once you arrive at the site, you first have to look for the registration desk, which is a little hidden next to the guest pitches. If you don't get a pitch on the meadow around the reception, you have to maneuver again. And there's not much space for that. The maintenance of the guest meadows only consists of mowing the grass. The meadows themselves are very muddy, especially after it rains, and you definitely need shims for the caravan supports. The paths from the entrance to the pitches are unpaved sand, especially after rain the paths are very muddy and the car always looked as if it had just been used for a rally. Shoes also always looked muddy. You also drive past a rather unkempt dump at the entrance area. Not nice either. We had no direct satellite reception from our pitch because large trees in that direction prevented reception. You should therefore take a tripod and a few meters of TV cable with you for the satellite dish. Shopping facilities are only available in Ratzeburg, there was only a small bread roll service at the campsite. And as Ratzeburg Cathedral is located on the opposite bank, you should know that the church bells often ring. Unfortunately also at night. The bells can be clearly heard on the square. But there are also positive things: the water pitches are not reserved exclusively for permanent campers, there are also pitches in the guest area on the shore of the lake with a great view. We had reserved such a pitch before we arrived, and other guests probably spontaneously got a pitch on the shore too. There are no demarcated pitches, but you can see the size of your own pitch from the electricity boxes. And it was really big for us: there was plenty of space for 1 caravan and 2 cars, and you could even put up an awning. The sanitary facilities are not that old and really clean, showers are possible without shower coins. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was a door in front of the individual shower cubicles, as you can see into the other cubicles from one. The operator was also very friendly and uncomplicated. Conclusion: So much more could have been made of this place. But the bumpy road on the way there is enough to put you off visiting again.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Leonhard H.December 2015Positiivsedquiet location with a view of Ratzeburg.Negatiivseduntidy, little careOnly 2 starsWe stayed on the site for one night after Christmas and arrived in the dark. Friendly welcome from the groundsman, we were allocated the most secure pitch near the sanitary building, sanitary facilities inside were also clean, so far everything was ok. Outside, however, the place seemed pretty neglected... to me. In front of the Sanni there was a torn open bag of food for the birds on a table, at least it looked like food and other forgotten garbage. It didn't look any better in other parts of the square. See pictures. The access road is an unpaved gravel road, but if you drive slowly it goes quite well. It may be that it looks different in summer, this is only a momentary assessment in winter. We were the only guests besides another caravan.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Axel F.July 2015PositiivsedSmall beautiful bathing area also for dogsNegatiivsedSomewhat "rumpelhaftes" appearance, unfurnished and very simple sanitary, top locations are reserved for permanent campers, catastrophic. ApproachO.K. for swimming, otherwise not the best placeWe chose this site for a few days on our way back from Rügen in July 2015. Conclusion: After 2 days we left and drove to the other shore to Buchholz. It started with the fact that we had booked a pitch on the water long in advance, but on arrival we realized that unfortunately we weren't "on the radar"... - quote from the friendly operator: "We'll find something". And we did, but somewhere completely different. The pitches in the water area probably belong 90 percent to the permanent campers. Only a small area near the playground is in the water. However, you can have a great swim there and dog owners also get their money's worth. Overall, the approach to the site is a bit of a disaster. Cobblestones of the worst kind as well as a steep slope and finally a sandy path are a real pain. Overall, a lot of things don't make a well-kept impression. Shortly before the site, there is a pile of bulky goods in the landscape on the left. In front of it, a spartan-looking hut sells bread rolls in the morning. The sanitary facilities are mostly sandy and without any kind of separation in the form of doors or curtains. Conclusion: More could be made of it, but just the friendliness of the staff doesn't help.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Andreas M.June 2014PositiivsedBeautiful, clean site, direct access to the lake via several bathing spots. Creative leisure activities for childrenInsider tip!We ended up at the campsite by chance and loved it straight away! The site is in a really beautiful location, right on the lake with a view of Ratzeburg Cathedral. The sanitary facilities may not be new, but they are clean and well-maintained, and the showers can be used without any extra charge or shower... tokens. The staff are very friendly, uncomplicated and apparently also quite creative, as can be seen from the two hanging ropes that children can use to "swing" into the water or the surfboards that have been converted into paddle boats. Great for children and practical for parents, as you have a view of the bathing spots from most of the pitches. Not to mention the impeccable quality of the water! Our conclusion: a real insider tip! We will definitely be back!Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- WoKeKi R.February 2011We were there outside the official season. From the very first telephone contact, we were kindly informed that no guest had ever been turned away. So we arrived with great pleasure. The sanitary area was heated a little more than necessary for the winter especially for us. The sanitary facilities were... clean and well maintained. The site makes a good impression and has a great view of Ratzeburg Cathedral and the Ratzeburg skyline across the lake. Despite the fact that it was very cold and windy, we felt comfortable there and were able to relax quite well. For this summer, we have firmly resolved to go there once in the "normal" season. However, the last 300 m of the journey were a little difficult, as we had to drive over bumpy cobblestones and finally over a sandy path. But we have time, so we can drive slowly. Römnitz, we would love to come back.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
