- Manfred K.June 2015PositiivsedQuiet, secluded location in a beautiful coastal landscape.NegatiivsedNo possibility of food supplies.Alone among sheepFantastically situated campsite, almost deserted during our stay before the main season, next to sandy bays ripe for the Caribbean in nerve-calming solitude. Welcomed by three lambs; the groundskeeper first hung up her washing in peace before revealing herself as such. Outside the main season, bring... your own food; the fish & chip store and the small store were only open at weekends according to the notice. Few, older but clean sanitary facilities. Very good hiking opportunities on the coastal path starting near the campsite with wonderful views. If you like seclusion in picturesque Scottish cliff architecture, this is the place for you.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
- Zelter X.July 2013A beautifully situated campsite on the paradisiacal bay of Achmelvich. A narrow, winding and steep single track road leads to the site, which ends there. Despite its remoteness, the site is obviously very popular, as it is quite busy. Nevertheless, the site is quiet, you can only hear the sea, the oystercatchers... and the bleating of the sheep. There are some static caravans for hire. The heated sanitary facilities are small, but clean and functional, no complaints. At the reception there is a very small shop and you can buy fish & chips, both of which are not open all the time. The nearest larger store and petrol station are in Lochinver. A short walk leads to an old mill and on the right-hand headland you can discover the smallest castle in the world and experience wonderful sunsets. Thanks to its sheltered location, the shallow sandy beach is ideal for swimming or kayaking. Highly recommended! Dogs are not allowed!Automaatselt tõlgitud.
