Great location in the countryside, very large distance to the neighbors
Very idyllic and quiet in the forest by the lake
If you love peace and solitude, this is the place for you. It is not a campsite in the true sense of the word, but rather a motorhome site. However, caravans can also be parked here if they are not too big. In a very idyllic location on a lake (actually a dammed river), the pitches are spread far apart... in the forest. You can't see anything of your neighbors. They are all by the water and almost all have electricity and water connections. There is also a rowing boat in the water that you can borrow free of charge. Toilets and showers are available, as are supply and disposal facilities, including for chemical toilets. No shopping facilities nearby. We thought it was great and enjoyed our time in nature!

Sanden Sare is a campsite without a reception. It is located directly on highway 9 and is ideal as a stop-over e.g. from or to Kjearg (Lysefjord, Lisebotn). The site is located on the road directly by the river with a weir. All pitches are single pitches in the forest and are mostly very flat. So you... are always "alone". Electricity connections on all but three pitches. A central wash house with two bathrooms (m/f). Price in 2011 is 200 NOK/night (showers 10 crowns). The "outdoor" reception is at the wash house. Find a pitch, remember the number (it's on a sign at the pitch), take and fill in the registration form, put 200 kroner and a copy of the form in an envelope and put it in the letterbox :-) Simply put the original receipt in the window (someone will come and have a look sometime in the evening). Very quiet and orderly. Few people get lost because you don't even think you're in a motorhome park. All food should be "on board", no supplies (only next place)
