We stayed in an apartment for two nights in August 2013. The site is located on a beautiful sandy beach. Actually a very nice place, we only had a few negative things. It started with the fact that we had booked an apartment for 4 people and the owner (an American) said that 2 people were included and... our two children cost extra! Very strange for a 4 (!!) person apartment. Then we wanted to pay by credit card - he also wanted to charge us for this (we were very surprised, we could pay everything and any amount by credit card throughout Norway). So we paid 1350 crowns for two nights, which was quite a lot for a sparsely furnished room that didn't even have a toilet. In the toilets you had to take off your shoes before entering, which we've never had to do before! The campsite advertises the great "hot pools", which look really great and are in a fantastic location. The brochure said 250 crowns per person for 60 minutes, which we decided to treat ourselves to. Unfortunately, there was a minimum charge of 500 crowns + surcharge if you wanted to use the hot pools after 11am. And that was definitely too much for us! But the idea was great, the pools are located on individual hills, so that you could look out over the sea and had a magnificent view. The garbage was also a problem, everything had to be sorted meticulously. It's not far from the campsite to Andenes, where you can go on the famous whale safaris. We tried for 3 days, but the whale watching was canceled every day due to strong winds. What a shame... We felt like we were at a polar station in Spitsbergen :-) The toilets and showers certainly suggested this :-) As we couldn't shake off the feeling of being ripped off somehow, we probably wouldn't visit this campsite again.
