- Bertl G.August 2017Positiivsed- Great town of Colchester (oldest town in England) - Good train connection to London - Absolute peace and quiet - Supermarket very closeNegatiivsed- No shower available - Bicycle path starts 3km away - English bread ;-)Arrived by chance, stayed longerWe also came to England on our European tour in 2017. The ferry arrival in Harwich was late in the evening (we waited forever at immigration control). That's why we were looking for a place nearby. We met some nice English people on an earlier stop on our tour and they gave us a map of the English caravanning... club. It shows lots of small and tiny pitches. This was one of them. The journey from the ferry was only short (approx. 40km). Enough to get to know the bad English roads with the caravan... :-) When we arrived there, we were shocked at how lonely it was. But on the following days we were able to make use of the advantages. These are: A LIDL supermarket only 2km away. The great town of Colchester! Be sure to visit the castle, the Roman town wall and the town park! This is pure England We commuted twice from Colchester station to London (arriving at Liverpool station). Book early online via greateranglia.co.uk A family ticket (incl. bus and tube) only costs around €90. We therefore spent 5 nights there instead of the planned 2. The hosts Caron and Paul are very nice and helpful. The big disadvantage is that there are no shower facilities. Toilets are in a container that is properly maintained.Automaatselt tõlgitud.
