Good sanitary facilities.NegatiivisetThe WLAN only reaches around the reception and constantly breaks down. You should be careful with the pitches. We had pitch 45, which is directly opposite the entrance to the military area. There is truck traffic here 24 hours a day, which you can hear all too well. Other pitches are quieter. Unfortunately, the trees are unkempt and obstruct higher vehicles when driving through the site. The sanitary facilities are closed several hours a day and are very dirty. Almost only shade in winterWe were there between Christmas and New Year. Apart from us, there was not a single other caravan/motorhome. The reception is only manned in the evening between 5 and 7 pm and is very friendly. They opened the toilets especially for us, although one toilet would have been enough for us. Due to the location,... there is practically only shade in winter, although it is sunny and warm on the opposite slope. You have to go into the village to get some sun. It's cold at the campsite! Unfortunately, they no longer officially have ACSI rates because they always had to justify their rates. (27.-SFr, but including everything: electricity and visitor's tax) We were grateful that we could get plenty of electricity, because without additional heating it would have been too cold even in the winter-proof WW. We came for the ACSI rate because it was still on offer at the time, and it was close to the ski resorts, where it's high season everywhere else. Never again!An outrageous rip-off!At the end of August 2015, I booked the Balmweid campsite in Meiringen for one night for two people with a tent and car as part of the Alpenbrevet (cycling event). We were then recommended the extensive sportsman's breakfast. The price of CHF 18 for breakfast shocked us, but we had to have a proper breakfast... before our big bike tour, so we booked it. What awaited us the next morning was an outrage beyond compare! There was practically no choice, no fresh muesli - just one loveless thing in the packaging, very little cheese and meat and the bread was still frozen on the inside!!!! There was also not enough seating, so we had to "enjoy" our breakfast outside at 5:30 in the morning. We gave up after two attempts to get fresh bread - for 18 francs this breakfast was really outrageous! You don't even pay prices like that in a hotel! The additional prices are another minus point: During the bike tour we had to pay 10 francs for our car parking. Charging your cell phone costs extra!!!! If you didn't comply, you had to pay a fine! No joke! In addition, almost no waste garbage cans on the site. But also the opening hours of the reception show that the operators obviously do not care about the well-being of the guests.Käännetty automaattisesti.

Daniel C.August 2010Large and well-equipped reception and sanitary building. Many pitches are under/near trees, so plenty of shade. The sound of the waterfall is always audible. Only a few permanent campers present at the end of August and a handful of short-term campers. Free WLAN in the immediate vicinity of the reception... building. Power points are well and frequently distributed. Also water points for fresh water. Ideally located as a starting point for hikers.
