"Camping once again top! - Unfortunately, as always on the Rhine, when it rains, it really rains. Something needs to be done to the paths as they flood in heavy rain - not very nice. Otherwise the pitches were good as always! The bread roll service worked very well again. You should communicate better about the bus to the town, because it only leaves from the site at weekends - during the week you have to walk to the slightly further bus stop (approx. 1.5 km).

"tradition since 1931 - Tradition since 1931, you can tell. It's nice that in this day and age you can inform your fellow campers here about the way in which the operators deal with paying guests in the form of arrogance, arrogance and a lack of information policy for their guests, among other things. Traditions can also end.

"A weekend in Cologne - We stayed at the campsite for a weekend. Basically a beautiful location, right on the banks of the Rhine. However, the pitches and especially the paths were very soggy and dangerously slippery due to the rain of the past few days! Of course nobody can do anything about all the rain, but for a 4* site at least paved paths would be desirable. Just like a stable power supply! I thought our fridge was broken, but then realized the following week in Holland that the breakdown and flashing of the fridge display was really due to the power fluctuations on the pitch. For almost 40 euros, for two people per night, you can expect a reasonable power supply, I think. The sanitary facilities were spacious and clean, and the staff at reception were very friendly.

"Campsite with no sense of camping. You have to do more for a good rating - Summary for lazy readers: All in all, a 2 out of 5. Only providing a pitch with electricity is not enough for more. Sanitary building not sufficiently cleaned. Construction work early in the morning before barrier opening. Bistro and beer garden closed. You can save money, e.g. because there are no vacations in NRW yet (in other federal states there were already vacations). But not in the wrong places and then still charge the same price all year round. The number of washing facilities and toilets in the sanitary building was reduced during our stay. A good idea in itself. But the cleaning staff also seem to have been minimized. Toilets and washbasins, as well as filling up with paper, were probably done on a makeshift basis and also swept through from time to time. But if I'm there for a week and don't always see the same hair on the tiles, it's all just been done quickly and probably not by professionals. There are no hooks, mirrors, sockets or heating in the sanitary building. During our stay (one week before the start of the vacation in NRW), paths were refilled with gravel, trees were pruned, pitches were renewed (shafts, beadles, paving...). These are regular jobs that have to be done on a campsite, I realize. BUT does it have to be before 8:00? The reception with bread roll sales and the barrier open at 8 a.m. I think it's absolutely cheeky to allow such a racket on the site from 7 a.m. onwards. For me, the sense of camping since 1931 (when the site was founded) has clearly been lost here. It starts with small details. For example, the homepage advertises a beer garden and bistro. However, there is no indication that these are not open all year round. There is a restaurant with good quality food, but this is more suited to a hotel or glamping. But not for camping. I hope you at least think about the campers in the high season!

"Good place for a weekend - Small, clean campsite with sunny pitches right on the Rhine. The reception was a bit confused but friendly. Sanitary facilities are very well maintained and available in sufficient numbers. There is a small playground for children and the Rhine invites you to go for a walk or cycle.

"Ideal for a city visit - Beautiful location, directly on the Rhine. Sandy beaches and foot/cycle path accessible via pedestrian gate. Public transport nearby. Spacious and clean sanitary facilities. Nice beer garden, restaurant, store, fresh bread. Bicycle parking. Plot large enough.
