- Rainer U.September 2024PositiivisetGreat campsite near FüssenNegatiivisetToo many dogsBeautiful campsiteWe were at the Brunnen campsite for the fifth or sixth time in September and, as always, we were impressed by the great and unique location of the site. unfortunately, and we notice this every year, there are more and more dogs there, which we find unpleasant with their constant barking, which can be... as early as seven o'clock in the morning. we campers without dogs are actually in the minority on this site.
There are dog owners who don't care about the prohibition signs of the campsite operator because they let their pets do their big and small business on the beautiful meadows.you are sitting at the breakfast table in wonderful weather and a dog owner lets his dog pee on the meadow not two meters away.any reaction to this is immediately brusquely and unfriendly shot down with the fact that man/woman probably doesn't like dogs.
Sometimes it's unbelievable what you get to hear.
We personally really miss the typical ringing of cow bells in the meadow next to the campsite, we don't understand why campers have complained about this but simply accept and put up with the constant barking of the dogs.
What a pity.
The sanitary blocks are only as clean as they are left by the guests, to put it bluntly!!!
We have nothing but positive things to say about the campsite staff - this applies to the reception staff as well as the employees of the small shop and the cleaning staff.

The only bad thing was the NON-attachment of all the doors of the campground in the function of the car park and when they were told to leave early... in the morning they were rude. Trovo che le regole sono importanti ma quando ci sono so tante regole e divieti consiglio la gentilezza per farle rispettare. Inoltre trovo sbagliato richiedere così molto silenzio in fondo ci si piazza in un campeggio con altri utenti a pochi metri e se non si vuole essere disturbati non si sceglie questo tipo di soggiorno. Noi amiamo il campeggio proprio per poter socializzare e passare ottime serate in compagni e divertimento. Per stare soli e godere della tranquillità non vado ad un camping.Käännetty automaattisesti.

On arrival, I was greeted by a friendly man at the barrier. He explained to me where I could find my pitch. The campsite is very clean and beautifully laid out. The same goes for the sanitary facilities, very clean.... The site is located directly on the lake and therefore invites you to do activities on and in the water. The mountains, castles and Füssen town center are also within easy reach. Dogs are welcome on the site, but only two per pitch.

Nevertheless, we still managed to get a pitch in the 2nd-highest category directly on the Forggensee. We were only there for 2 days and only needed a pitch and washrooms. The pitch was large, there would have been room for one more camper. The toilets, showers and sinks were plentiful and in very good condition. We rented e-mountain bikes for one day for €35/day and were able to explore the surrounding area. For longer distances, however, you would probably need padded cycling shorts as the saddles are quite hard.NegatiivisetIt is advertised that all the drinking water on the campsite is "revitalized", i.e. "Grander water". On the one hand I am somewhat amused, on the other hand I am annoyed by the advertising for a fraudulent company that makes a lot of money with cheap pseudo-scientific "water revitalization systems". The water at the campsite is good, just as it is in the area around Schwangau, which I know very well, without the "Grander water revitalization devices". I am absolutely reluctant to support something like that.Good overall, one star deduction for advertising GranderwasserAll in all very good, the Forggensee is also and especially special when the water is low.

The pitches are large enough even for larger caravans and as far as we have seen they are gravelled throughout (very pleasant when it rains, it's dry again straight away).
The sanitary facilities are extensive,... well equipped (partitions in the shower cubicles, sufficient hooks and shelves etc.) and very clean. The site has its own wellness facilities and there is an adjoining restaurant and a well-stocked store (note: order bread rolls, there is usually nothing left after 10).
We were very satisfied and will definitely be back.
A little tip: Lake Forggensee is 'not there' from November to May because most of the water is drained. The location is indescribably beautiful, anyone who disagrees should go to Austria very quickly or even better for the poor Austrians would be to go back home and spend... their vacation in the basement.
Honestly, some of the comments make my toenails curl up and anyone who gets upset about children screaming at lunchtime is wrong for camping. The poor cowbells that belong to the Allgäu were abolished thanks to grumbling campers, really sad. They should go to a child-free hotel, but I'm sure there's a catch. You know these perfect people who have something to nag about everything and everyone, my good advice: Before you put such reviews on the Internet, please put yourself in the position of the owners and employees who have to deal with and endure these notoriously dissatisfied and disgruntled vacationers every day! Dear campers it's vacation you are on a beautiful spot on earth just enjoy it and let your negative thoughts go on vacation too. On some pitches the waste water connection was so high that the gray water drained badly or not at all. The connection with the public transport was excellent,... we didn't need a car. Due to the use of waterless urinals, it smelled slightly acrid at peak times in the morning. The campsite was always fully booked during our visit. Overnight visits by wild animals (this is indicated in the site rules and notices), some leather shoes were carried off by foxes. There are many hiking trails around, the town of Füssen is also not far away and has a beautiful city center which was very lively when we were there.
My husband did a tandem flight on the Tegelberg and was very enthusiastic.
We also felt welcome with our dog.
