- Markus L.August 2024PositiivisetSeaNegatiivisetEvening program can be extended.Very satisfiedWe were there during the summer vacation with 4 people (50, 48, 17 and 14 years old)
Nice place, very well maintained. Sanitary clean, for some guests the place can not do anything.
The sea water was crystal clear and spotlessly clean. We used the public beach and there were no dogs there.
Perfect place to explore St. Tropez and Port Grimaud. We also took a trip to Monaco/Monte Carlo.
We will definitely be back again.Käännetty automaattisesti. - D. C.September 2022PositiivisetLocation to Saint Tropez, proximity to the beachNegatiivisetnoisy coastal road, sanitary facilities too basic, price/performance not greatLarge, rather noisy place that promises more than it delivers...A very large campsite that is divided into two parts by the busy coastal road. In the lower part (first row practically 'on the beach') you should make a reservation and make sure you are as close to the beach as possible, otherwise the road noise (sometimes at night) can really get on your nerves. The... upper part is much quieter, but the street can't be overheard here either. The pitches are not too big (larger ones are available for an extra charge), some are separated from their neighbors by some greenery, others are right next to each other without a screen.
The sanitary facilities, although numerous, are quite basic and not suitable for a '4-star campsite' (French standard). Some of the washing facilities were cramped, there were no toilet seats or even paper, and they weren't really clean either - disappointing! In addition, each 'sanitary type' is housed in its own building/part of the building, which means that you have to change buildings to wash your hands after using the toilet :-(
There is a very well-stocked store selling bread and croissants without pre-ordering at quite reasonable prices; there is also a restaurant where you can sit and enjoy a nice meal.
The square is clearly dominated by Dutch people, who make up about 70% of the visitors. On the square, people greet each other as they walk past with 'Goede morgen' and not with 'Bonjour' . It is also advisable to book in advance or at least call ahead, as the campsite is very busy even in the low season. At €35 per night (slightly larger pitch) it is expensive, too expensive from our point of view (almost all Dutch people have the ACSI discount card and only pay €22 :-))
The cycle path to Saint Tropez is very nice, but it also leads past the (noisy) coastal road...Käännetty automaattisesti. - Ekin B.August 2020PositiivisetNoneNegatiivisetAmong all the camping sites I've visited, this place hosts the 1) most incompetent reception/field employees, 2) Customer-unfriendly service with a double booking on 1 spot and 3) The worst crisis management capabilities.Get ready for being treated like shitIf you would like to be treated like shit by the reception employees, go help yourself. Here is the summary:
We did our reservation for a tent site and we were given the site number 453 and their field employee took us to the location. So far so good. We put out shade tent and then left to beach as... we didnt want to put the rest of the tents wait in the sun. When we returned, we saw that someone else put their tent under our shade and on our parcel. We called the field employee, he took 20 minutes to figure out what to do and did not let us set up our tents although it was getting dark. They said they booked the our parcel twice. Then, instead of apologizing, they suggested us move(!) somewhere else that has no place to put our shade tent. I said we cannot accept this and we demanded our place. The lady at the reception then told me "not to get aggressive" although I was explaining the situation that because of their error, we should not be punished. Then, at around 2100, she said if we don't like it we can just leave. Yes, because she knows in the middle of the night you as the customer has more than one reservation that you paid to stay somewhere else. They may have nice facilities but if you're going to treat the customer like shit and don't make up your mistakes, this has to be corrected. - Kai S.July 2020PositiivisetLocation, multilingualism, sanitary facilitiesNegatiivisetVolume of the road, traffic jamsExcellent with beach placeWe had a spot between two small palm trees directly in the 1st row. It was brilliant, even without much shade. 30m to the water. The road that divides the campsite is a bit noisy and during the day there is always a traffic jam. So take your bike with you. A tunnel connects both parts of the campsite.... Personally, I would only camp on the beach side. But it's a matter of taste. There's more going on at the campsite in the evening and there's always live music or foam parties and so on. Ideal for kids. It was always quiet at 11pm.
The reception is friendly, helpful and multilingual. The sanitary facilities are extremely clean and modern. It was constantly cleaned. 8km to St. Tropez.
We were very satisfied and would come again.Käännetty automaattisesti. - Marcel G.July 2020PositiivisetClose to excursion destinations, supermarket on siteNegatiivisetWash and toilet blocks not good, only one water temperature, cleanliness of wash and toilet blocks, street noiseLocation good, space mediocreThe campsite is split in two by the sea. The beach pitches in the first row are beautifully situated. However, you always have to go through the underpass if you want to go to the toilet or take a shower.
The road is extremely noisy at all times, so the operator could ask the local authority for speed... breakers.
Unfortunately, we also had bad luck with the neighbors. The Dutch, Belgians and French didn't care if you walked across other people's pitches. Rest periods were also not observed.
It's fine as a transit site for two or three nights, then you've also seen the surrounding area. We would not recommend this site for longer.Käännetty automaattisesti. - Roland L.May 2019PositiivisetLocation directly by the seaNegatiivisetvery very loud due to the street noiseOnly 2 days in the low seasonWe wanted to try out the pitch right by the sea and were allocated a pitch in the second row. It was just big enough for our caravan, even though we had told them in advance about the dimensions. The pitch was dusty and the noise from the very busy road was unbearable after 2 nights - no rest at all. The sanitary facilities were just fine as the site was not full - not a recommendation.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Nicole O.April 2019PositiivisetPlayground for small children Friendly staffNegatiivisetLukewarm shower water WC facilities without lid and toilet paperGreat campsite with some drawbacksUnfortunately, the pitches are not separated and are very close to each other. As we were there in the low season it wasn't a problem, but in the high season I imagine it would be unpleasant. The toilets have no lids and no toilet paper. As it was still very cold in April, I was really looking forward... to a hot shower in the evening and was then disappointed as the water was only slightly warm. As I said, in summer at 35 degrees it is perfectly adequate but unfortunately not at 8 degrees in the evening. The children's playground is very nice and also very suitable for children of toddler age. There is a nice, well signposted cycle path to St. Tropez. All in all a campsite for once but not for a longer stay.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Christian N.January 2019Booking platform is a disasterSo I can't say anything about the campsite because I get a cancellation with every booking I want to make, you have to provide credit card details and deposit and after 2 days you get an email that the booking is not recognized, in my opinion a cheekKäännetty automaattisesti.
- Siegfried S.August 2018PositiivisetLocation Sanitary facilities Children's playground Proximity to the beachNegatiivisetReception Loud in the lower rangeDivided opinionWe (family) stayed at the campsite for 3 weeks and had a pitch in the upper rear area. In the end we were very happy with this. By and large, everything has already been mentioned in the previous comments. Location: The campsite is very suitable for exploring the surrounding area. If it weren't for the... coastal road that runs through it - as mentioned everywhere. It was/is always crowded and noisy. But that's not the campsite's fault! In the upper area we were spared the noise, apart from the night-time bikers. What we didn't like so much was the very untidy and uncomfortable look of the pitches. Everything close together, no real boundaries. It all looked "squeezed in". Sanitary facilities: This is our only 10 points. There was never a time when the showers, toilets or washing-up areas were either full or dirty. They were always clean and in tip-top condition. Furthermore, there were no waiting times. Reception: Our personal opinion is that the reception is the first personal contact and it should be friendly and stress-free so that you feel comfortable and the vacation can begin. This was not the case for us! Although in German, the greeting was very impersonal, the employee was completely stressed, almost annoyed that guests were now arriving again and wanted to take their seats. An absolute no-go in my eyes. I have experienced this better at other campsites in this star category. I should mention the employee who spoke German but only answered all questions with "No, we can't do that". It was particularly bad when she only spoke French and only remembered when she was "reminded" that we had been talking in German a short time ago. What I didn't understand was that you have to pay a deposit for every bike you rent. That would have been €600 for us, even though we were registered as guests. But okay, we did without it. Shopping/bar: We only bought baguettes in the supermarket in the morning, otherwise we went shopping in the nearby Geant supermarket. It leaves nothing to be desired and has normal prices. We ordered pizza at the bar. It was okay but relatively expensive. Conclusion: A good place to get to know the Cote d` Azur. Simply too full and too crowded in the high season, which is also reflected on the beach. We deduct one point because of our experience with the reception. We are unlikely to visit again.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- B. W.July 2018Positiiviset- Great starting point for sightseeing - Direct bus connection/ cycle pathsNegatiiviset- Nothing for beach vacations and relaxation - Buses are not handicapped accessibleSea dirty, noisy street but starting point for sightseeingBooked space would actually not have been bad. However, there was trouble straight away as we needed more than 35m of cable to the nearest power supply. The woman at reception was really unfriendly and only after a lot of back and forth was she prepared to provide a cable drum. (This alone would not... have been enough...) The very busy road can be heard everywhere and at all times. The beach with a view to Saint Tropez is very nice but unfortunately full and sloping quickly. (Less suitable for children) Particularly annoying is that the water was really unappetizing on several days - the poop from the numerous yachts floated past.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Volker S.July 2018Positiiviset- Good infrastructure on site - great location by the sea with a view of St. Tropez - Friendly staff - good facilities for childrenNegatiiviset- Moderate sanitary facilities - Rather small pitches, sometimes very narrow access roads - mostly little shade - rather noisy - rather expensiveCamping in a top location right by the seaThe campsite impresses with its top location directly by the sea with its own beach and the possibility of being able to stand directly on the beach. The site is divided by an extremely busy road, so pitches close to the road on both sides of the site are very noisy. Quieter pitches in the upper terraced... area, but here sometimes very narrow paths and rather small plots, many with little shade, sometimes hardly accessible with larger vehicles or caravans, often very dusty ground, less suitable for tents. Very friendly staff, pitches are allocated. Well-stocked small supermarket, good catering, lots on offer for children. WLAN very expensive. The main point of criticism is the sanitary facilities, which are not appropriate for a site in this price range. No toilet seats, no toilet paper, all fittings (washbasins, sinks, showers...) only with push button (usually only very short running time) and above all without temperature control, everything equally warm (not hot). Although visually modernized, but technically simple standard, cleanliness okay but not excellent. Bus stop in front of the pitch. For a few days stay a nice place, for longer stays, especially in midsummer, more shade and better sanitary facilities would be necessary.Käännetty automaattisesti.

- Elke S.September 2017PositiivisetLocation and surroundingsNegatiivisetFor us! No dogs on the stand and water. Quite loudNice starting pointOur problem was that we read in the reviews that dogs are allowed on the beach. According to the reception this is not allowed and the worst thing for us was that dogs are not allowed in the water. The main road is noisy but worse were the tractors that sometimes drive next to the campsite at 5.30 in... the morning or even at three in the morning over a gravel driveway into the vineyards. This sounds like garbage collection. Despite the off-season, the campsite was almost fully booked. It is best to call in advance.Käännetty automaattisesti.

- Andre S.August 2016PositiivisetClose to the beach, friendly staff, nice big playground, central location for excursions, very nice places in the upper area!Negatiivisetno pool, inconsiderate dog owners, sanitary facilities could be better, lots of and sometimes loud traffic on the coastal roadNice campsite, but with various shortcomingsWe stayed at this campsite with our two children (2 and 6) from mid to late August 2016. The reservation via the campsite's website was straightforward and the confirmation by phone was also very friendly. During the main season, you have to expect traffic jams or very slow-moving traffic on the access... road. Waiting in front of the closed barrier before check-in is not very practical as this inevitably blocks the entrance. The designated parking lot was completely full and unusable. The check-in was very quick and friendly. The parking spaces in the lower area were very full at our time and it was quite busy. However, if you go further up the terraced site, it becomes much quieter. However, the main road in front of the campsite can be heard all the time, especially at weekends to a tolerable extent. There is entertainment on the square almost every day until around 11pm. After that, you can often still hear the musical performances of neighboring pitches. The pitches vary greatly in size. There are also pitches for larger vehicles, some with shade. The ground is predominantly sandy. Water points are distributed around the pitches. The electricity distributors (6A) are sometimes far away > 25m. The sanitary facilities are average, unfortunately without toilet paper, soap or similar, which could be expected at a price of 50 euros per night. The supermarket is well stocked and has normal prices by French standards. We did not visit the restaurant on site, but it is said to be quite good. The playground is very nice and large, completely covered with artificial turf and has something for every age group. The path to the sea from the pitches at the top is about 300 meters, which is easy to walk. What really bothered us were the inconsiderate dog owners who sometimes let their dogs do their business on the sides of the pitch without removing them. The others went with their four-legged friends through a small door at the reception to the adjacent vineyards and did the same there. Accordingly, it also stank in this area in the high temperatures. Simply disgusting. The management urgently needs to make improvements here. It is also permitted to take dogs into the sea on the campsite beach, which certainly doesn't please everyone :-(. The beach is not particularly wide and is quite crowded from midday onwards. It slopes gently, which means that small children can enjoy a nice swim here. There is something to see on the sea all day long. The pitches on the other side of the road (sea side) are very nice in the first row and even more expensive. The road is also easy to hear here. You can make very nice excursions by bike from the campsite and generally get around faster than by car. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the campsite for high season conditions and would visit it again.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Gunnar B.August 2016Positiiviset- beautiful area with many palm trees & high society - even from the land side only 50m to the sea - huge children's playgroundNegatiiviset- old wash houses - no pool despite expensive price - very loud due to main road & animation - Pitches all with sand or earth floorThe course is difficult to evaluate, as you have no influence on many things. It has never been as difficult for me to rate a campsite as it is here. From very very good to very very bad, everything is included here. In this review, I'll try to go through all the criteria one by one without separating good and bad in a structured way. Let's start with the arrival: You arrive via... the main highway. The campsite is around 30 km from the highway, which makes trips to Monaco or Nice a real ordeal. Because: The approach is on a main road. This one main road is the only traffic connection from the highway to the popular Port Graimaud or Saint Tropez. However, this main road is not developed like a German main road, but is more like a narrow little side road in Germany. And everything that wants to go to the Gulf of Saint Tropez drives along here. Locals, tourists, stars and celebrities - simply everything. As a result, the road is more than full and traffic jams are the order of the day. It can take several hours to cover the last 6 km to Capingplatz, which can put you in a bad mood. You also HAVE to drive along this road for any excursions, which is why you should allow several hours for each trip. The campsite is only 3km from Port Grimaud (a 30-minute drive), which is well worth a visit. It is about 10km to Saint Tropez (approx. 1h drive) When you arrive at the campsite, you are faced with a locked barrier - with no parking spaces. So you first block the barrier and have to walk to reception (50m) to check in. The check-in takes a good 30 minutes due to the high volume of people, during which time no one can get to the site and other arrivals may be "blocking" the main road. Improvements are urgently needed here. German and English are spoken fluently at reception. Once checked in, you get a card for unlimited entry/exit to the site. A campsite employee then accompanies you to your pitch in a "golf cart". Then the next problem. The campsite is located on a slope and is terraced, which promises a great view - but makes maneuvering and parking very difficult due to narrow paths. (ATTENTION: Caravans with a width of 2.50m and a length of over 600m definitely don't stand a chance on this site!!!) Even we had to push our small 400m caravan the last 5m to the pitch. The pitches as such are quite small and the ground is just pure earth! So you should definitely have an awning carpet with you. On the beach side, the ground is pure sand, which I would find a little more pleasant. But when we booked in March, there was already nothing available there. You could at least lay artificial turf or a few slabs on the pitches so that it's not permanently dirty in the caravan/motorhome/tent. However, the pitches on the land side have the advantage that you have the supermarket right there, newer wash houses and much more shade. About the prices: In the high season, we paid EUR 50 per night for 2 adults, a dog, car and caravan. That is very, very expensive for what is on offer on the site. For example, there is no pool, entertainment - which is designed exclusively for a French audience and a lot of dirt on and in the caravan/caravan due to the unpaved ground. On the other hand, there is a well-stocked supermarket with reasonable local prices. (Very expensive by German standards!) There is a really good restaurant with fair prices, a large and really great children's playground with artificial turf and a small "amusement arcade" with pinball, air field hockey, billiards and much more. (However, there is an extra charge). The wash houses are clean, but all between 10 & 40 years old. Some are separated between male and female, some are just all together. There are no toilet seats, no soap, no toilet paper and no towels in the wash houses. This is actually unacceptable for a pitch at this price level. In some cases, a lot of effort was made to create the site and palm trees were put up, which are even illuminated at night - but in some cases, a lot could have been done much better. You get the impression that they want to make a quick buck during the high season and then spend the rest of the year on vacation. Relaxation factor: In my opinion, the campsite is more for people who want to experience something. The main road makes it very noisy late into the night, and in the evenings super sports cars like to have little acceleration races. The entertainment is also loud and goes on late into the night. The site has around 600 pitches and is therefore quite large. Naturally, the traffic on the site is correspondingly heavy. Dogs are not allowed on the campsite's own beach. However, there is a dog beach 600m further on, which is nicer anyway. There is a lot of gravel in the water on the campsite's own beach, but the water on the dog beach is all soft sand. We only went swimming there. You can also hire boats and jet skis at the dog beach. For those who don't want to read the whole text: CONCLUSION: If you want action, this is the place for you. Super sports cars, high society, jet skis and entertainment (albeit mainly French) are all on offer here. If you are looking for relaxation, this is not the place for you. A lot of traffic, a lot of noise from the main road and the entertainment as well as a large campsite with a lot of traffic on the site promise little relaxation. The prices are quite high at EUR 50 per night for 2 people, and there is not even a pool and very dusty/sandy pitches without firm ground or grass. The on-site beach area is also not very nice due to gravel and reefs in the water. Would we come back? Yes, but this is definitely not a place to vacation every year. The area is very nice and I would possibly choose a place a little further inland for my next stay but with a pool to have more relaxation. The sea is very cold in stormy weather, even in high season.Käännetty automaattisesti.
