- kerstin F.May 2013If you love the wilderness and nature, this is the place for you. Florence, who lovingly takes care of everything, speaks great English. The property is located directly on the river and is enchanting with its large tree population. The campsite used to be an apple orchard and there is still a small... factory from that time that processes the regional organic fruit. A small hydroelectric power station supplies the campsite with electricity. The restaurant and bar in the old farmstead are decorated with works of art by Florence's parents. Everywhere you look you will find loving details that the whole Faidherbe family conjures up time and time again. For us, the best time to visit is May, June, July, September and October. August is the month of the French, the campsite is too full for us. the last week of August is ok. We love the Cevennes and come at least twice a year. We cycle, hike, swim and fish and we always have our dog with us. we have been coming to this campsite for years and it has become our second home. If you want to conquer an extraordinary wild area, this is the place for you.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Andreas S.August 2011In 2011, I was back on this site for the first time in 28 years. Some things have changed, some haven't. It's still a quiet place to relax and enjoy the nature of the Cevennes. Many excursions are possible (villages, caves, waterfalls (Cirque de Navacelles - don't miss it!!). The markets are also fun,... as you can still buy goods (honey, jam, fruit, etc.) from the region here. The site has been upgraded with a small swimming pool and several toilet blocks, two of which were still under construction. The operators, now the son and his wife, are extremely friendly and very helpful. We did not try the restaurant. Conclusion: If you are looking for peace and quiet (the youth group on site did not disturb you) and appreciate an almost untouched place, if you want to spend your vacation among French people and if you appreciate the beauty of the Cevennes, you should visit this place. You won't find any stars, although the campsite could easily display some, because the owners (as in the past) don't care. It certainly won't be another 28 years before we visit the campsite again (as a contrast to the sea). Thanks to the owners for the wonderful days!Käännetty automaattisesti.
