Compared to the previous campsites on our trip through Normandy, this one fell behind even though it had the highest rating.
The site has large pitches and is only separated from the beach by a road. The wash houses are different. The one closest to us was old, cramped and rancid... and usually smelled like it. Another one in the middle of the site was more spacious and somewhat newer. However, the toilet, shower and washing up were all in one room. So it smelled a bit acrid when showering here too...
Subjectively, we felt more tolerated here than as guests. We were placed alone at the very edge of the pitch, the plots nearby remained empty. Apparently they prefer campers to book a longer stay rather than just two nights like us.Käännetty automaattisesti.

Reception was unfortunately a bit unfriendly, at the reception we were initially ignored for about 2 minutes without being greeted, while the two receptionists chatted animatedly. Check in then without any problems. Our premium pitch with its own sanitary facilities... was almost as good as new and well equipped, the pitch size was super large. On arrival, the pitch was quickly mowed and then we were able to settle in. If you like animals (and their smell), the enclosure won't bother you - but we found the smells unpleasant. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered for the next day in the small and very manageable mini market, baguettes and croissants were very tasty. We were there on Whitsun and AM D-Day, which we hadn't actually planned. A festival atmosphere from Whit Sunday to around Tuesday, with parades and air shows etc. - an interesting experience.
We can't give a detailed assessment of the campsite facilities as we were constantly on the move. The general sanitary facilities made a typical French impression at first glance. We can't say any more as we had our own bathroom on the pitch. The disposal point for the chemical toilet was found after a short search at one of the various sanitary blocks in the open air.
All in all, a decent campsite, but at a high price (possibly due to the busy D-Day weekend), although the private sanitary facilities were simply TOP and our pitch was simply huge! We had a premium pitch with our own sanitary facilities. Everything was tip top clean. Only the rabbits were up to mischief underground. Watch out for deep holes. The normal showers are sufficient, clean but not 5 * standard nor 4 stars.... The indoor pool was cold early at 9, once the air windows were open - and the water. For wheelchair users, the entrance to the indoor pool is the end of the fun. The gate is far too narrow and then you have to go through the footbath with the wheelchair. I couldn't find another way. The door to the outdoor pool was closed. What use is a disabled-friendly shower and toilet in the indoor pool? Supermarket only very sparsely stocked. Restaurant only partially open and someone was cutting the hedges at nine in the morning. Can't you put that off until the next week when it's closed anyway? The beach is narrow and full of shells, almost no sand. There are nicer beaches. The nearest supermarket didn't turn up wherever we were and the nearest restaurant, well, don't ask too much. Almost nobody speaks German here. At the campsite, however, they do their best to accommodate every language. The pitches are large and well-kept. Bouncy castles and playground available. We renovated our swimming pool for the 2019 season and now wheelchairs can access very easily the pool (without having to go through the boot bath). The water of the covered swimming pool is monitored continously and is 28°C. We don't have a restaurant... on site but a service of take-away pizzas every evening and a bar with snacking. The closest restaurant is 1 km away. Regarding summer activities we have a complete entertainment programme offered in July and August but not during low season. We are however surprised that you found that the beach had little sand as it is the landing beaches, they are very long with a lot of fine sand.
Nevertheless I hope you enjoy your stay and wish to visit Normandy again. - Peter S.July 2018PositiivisetLocation,cleanliness,friendly staffNegatiiviset10 km to the nearest supermarketOasis by the seaWe were very lucky with the weather. 14 days of sunshine. The place is very well maintained and is kept in order every day. The staff, from the receptionists to the gardeners and workmen, are very friendly and helpful. The site has a very large number of mobile homes, but also plenty of pitches. All... pitches are separated by hedges and are large enough. 80 to 120 m/2 A few have a private sanitary block with shower, toilet, washbasin and sink. The sanitary buildings are always clean and adequate. The location directly by the sea is simply fantastic. Swimming and sunbathing are possible, and the seawall is a popular meeting place for campers in the evenings. The heated pool and the covered pool leave nothing to be desired. For children there is a paddock with horses and a walk-in area with goats. The evening entertainment is in the bar area at the entrance and is not intrusive. Some activities also take place during the day in the pool area. The store on the campsite has a small selection of goods, but fresh baguettes and croissants every morning. There is a large supermarket with a petrol station 10 km away. You can stock up on everything you need there. The site is the ideal starting point for exploring western Normandy. Unfortunately we had booked with water drainage, but this was not available. Staff very very nice, only the owner himself could do with some manners and friendliness. What's more, we've stayed +/- 15 days each time, of course at different times, and the weather has always been sunny. Surely luck was with us. For three years now, several of us have been meeting there at the same time.
