- Yvonne G.May 2021Positiiviset- Proximity to the animals - the involvement of vacationing children in the care and feeding of the animals - Delicious homemade coffee and pastry specialties - lovingly run adventure farm with great activities for young and old - the "grill house" and the campfire site are great - Fresh bread rolls from the local bakery in the morning - huge "reed labyrinth" - healthy air, happy animals and everything children's hearts desire to play withNegatiivisetUnfortunately, we had to return home at some point when the vacation was over :)Family vacation in beautiful natureThe lovingly run farm is simply worth a visit.
All special requests and needs were catered for immediately. The staff are friendly and motivated. Every morning all children are allowed to help feed the animals and there are pony rides, tractor rides, the huge "reed maze", the "play barn", countless... play opportunities for the children, even outside the large playground and the adults can make themselves comfortable with a cool drink or have a delicious barbecue at the campfire site or in the barbecue hut. There are plenty of opportunities for all kinds of activities, but there is also plenty of time to relax if you want to. There are plenty of seating areas and hammocks hanging between the trees everywhere. Everything is very inviting and attractively designed.Käännetty automaattisesti. - Birgit D.May 2021Positiiviset- wonderful view over the Hunsrück - Indoor play barn with lots of opportunities to play even when it rains - friendly staff - small farm shop - clean sanitary facilitiesNegatiiviset--Nice short vacationWe spent a lovely and relaxing vacation as a family. - Beate D.May 2021PositiivisetVaried leisure activities, view, friendly tenants, daily bakery car with fresh bread rolls, great hiking trails in the areaNegatiiviset/Fantastic location, great offers for familiesWe had a relaxing family camping vacation at the Höhenhof. Our two children loved the animals, the Kettcars, the reed maze and the horse riding. We really enjoyed the location and the well-signposted hiking trails. The little farm shop offers some tasty treats.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Hannah M.July 2020Positiivisetunfortunately nothingNegatiiviset- Relatively expensive, as all activities are charged extra - Toilet disposal adventurous (unhygienic) - Pitch like at a rest stop, gravel pitch, small - Barefoot path somewhat unkempt -promoted play equipment (Kettcars etc) defectiveDisorganized, parking space not very invitingWe wanted to spend a comfortable and quiet vacation at the Höhenhof. We were disillusioned as soon as we arrived. There are three pitches for caravans. All three are close to each other, at the back of the caravan is directly the driveway / gravel road (quite jagged), which can be really dangerous for... small children / babies. The gravel pitch (which is not directly described on the homepage) was not suitable for any of our tent pegs. Without an awning, these pitches are absolutely not suitable for stone-eating babies. So for us the pitch was more stress than peace and relaxation. The host family were friendly to us in different ways. Sometimes we wished for a little more hospitality. We only got a detailed introduction to the site after we went to the front a second time and asked. On our first attempt, we were told to read the leaflet that was outside. However, it didn't say anything about emptying the chemical toilets in a gully-like flap in the courtyard - right next to the children's vehicles. To flush them out, you use a hose at the barn in another place. This may be sufficient for real natural barns, but we would have liked more comfort and hygiene. Most of the Kettcars and pedal tractors were broken. However, they could hardly be driven anyway, as most of the yard was gravel. In my opinion, you don't need to offer something like this. Most of the equipment was not actually available in reality. The barefoot path is getting on in years and needs maintenance. We found the place expensive, considering that it costs a lot of extra money. Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all and left early after just one day. What else should be mentioned is that the information on the website differs from reality. (e.g. prices & schedules of riding lessons are incorrect)Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Jennifer B.April 2019PositiivisetRest, play opportunities, horse ridingNegatiivisetSome maintenance of the yard, billing per dayA completely different flairAdmittedly, it's somehow not a real farm. You should know that in advance. As you can read in other reviews, there are small animals to look at and a communal feeding once in the morning. Then the bread trolley arrives, the riding lessons are arranged and the farm store (not much choice) is open. It's... a seven-minute drive to the shops. It's a really great place to ride! That's also the real reason why many people were there. The children can run free on the large grounds and there are lots of opportunities to play and plenty of variety. There are always children around to play with. The farm exudes its very own flair. Lots of peace, great views and plenty of relaxation. Lots of little places to sit and relax, hammocks everywhere. The fact that there are only three pitches makes it very relaxed. The ground is hard and covered with chippings. But the pitches were big enough for us. The supply and disposal facilities as well as the sanitary facilities are simple but clean and perfectly ok. There is also a fully equipped kitchen. The yard could do with a bit more maintenance here and there. Once a week there is a communal barbecue evening (approx. €15 for adults and €9 for children) We found it quite expensive, especially as our little one (12 months) had to pay in full. All in all, a very relaxed vacation. There are plenty of excursion destinations within a 30-minute radius. Great for a short break - we'll definitely be back.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Susanne K.August 2017Positiivisetgreat riding lessons with Angie Toilets / washroom cleanNegatiivisetVery small pitches Cobwebs everywhereVacation on the riding stablesThe pitches are really tiny, but we simply used the meadow underneath. It's more of a riding stables and our children loved it. The riding lessons were reasonably expensive at €15, especially as the group size was a maximum of 4. And Angi is a great instructor! The vastness of the meadows where they... could play safely and the activities were also good for the older ones and the rest was up to their imagination. The hammocks were never empty. The new toilet block is very nice and clean and the one shower per gender is enough for a maximum of 3 cars. It was very clean - but you shouldn't have a phobia of spiders! The facility itself is a bit crunchy - too many cobwebs and with a few small measures you could make a lot more of it. They also wanted to charge us more, but after our protest we agreed. Conclusion: nice vacation at the riding stablesKäännetty automaattisesti.
- Monia S.May 2017Positiivisetgreat view, very child-friendly, clean sanitary facilities, quiet locationNegatiivisetPitches are not particularly large, sometimes exhausting for parents of children under 3, farm store very small, hot water takes a long timeParadise for children & great natureWe had a great week at the Höhenhof in May. Every morning at 8.30 am, the children are allowed to go and feed the animals. Then the riding lessons are scheduled and the farm store opens. At 9 o'clock, the bakery truck arrives with super fresh bread rolls and lots of goodies. After breakfast, the children... disappear and only come back when they are hungry. The view from the caravan pitches is sensational and I really enjoyed my time out as a parent and read a lot. So much space and tranquillity puts me in a good mood. But there is also a lot to discover. There is a reed labyrinth and a barefoot path on the grounds. Of course, there are also the usual things like a playground with swings, slides, sandpit, trampoline, zip wire and a play barn. Lots of vehicles for children, there are also information signs for plants and animals. There is also a lake, a Kneipp pool and a course for farmer's golf (for a fee). The operators also offer a number of activities. (Barbecue evening, archery, mushroom picking, carriage rides, some for a fee) The animals are well looked after and cared for. A cleaning lady keeps the sanitary facilities clean. The toilet block is very new. The shower building is a bit older and the hot water takes a while. For parents of children under the age of 3 who are not yet motorically fit, it is sometimes very strenuous. The pitches are right next to the stairs and you have to be careful that they don't tumble down them. The huge play area is also sloping and with a lazy child the way to the playground is long and the way back uphill is endless if you have to carry the child. As the whole yard is gravel, stone or grass (which is great because there is not so much mud), it is difficult for lazy children, even with a buggy. But I don't think the farm or the operators should be blamed for this, as small children are not the actual target group. We will definitely go back, because in six months or a year these problems will be forgotten because the child will be able to cover completely different distances. I can't say anything about the vacation apartments, I didn't see any. Oh, and there is a washing machine and dryer that can be used on request.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Jonas T.August 2016Camping insider tip for camping with childrenWe were not put off by the previous reviews and are very glad we did! This is not a traditional farm in the true sense of the word, but an EXPERIENCE farm. The Höhenhof offers children numerous leisure activities: Play barn for big and small, a huge labirinth, playgrounds, soccer field, huge meadows... for flying kites, pigs, chickens, goats, horses, riding lessons lots of children to play with etc. You probably won't see them again until the evening. Then you can sit in front of your tent, enjoy the peace and quiet and a great panorama with a distant view, all on your own, as there are hardly any campers here. You have a huge meadow to yourself. In bad weather, there are lounges for cooking, sitting and washing up. The farm owners are extremely caring and love children. We will definitely be back!Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Nadine M.April 2015PositiivisetNONENegatiivisetPoor space Poor disposal Expensive especially because it is charged per day and not per nightFortunately only 4 nights!I don't even know where to start: Let's start with the most obvious A farm, maybe it used to be, because a few chickens, goats and horses and that rather for show are not a farm. The pig was on vacation, ridiculous. Oh yes, the strange "farmer goat" also advised against being present at the feeding during... the strange greeting. Then to the pitch: In Mini Platz in the mud. Sanitary facilities/supply and disposal: Fresh water admittedly close to the pitch, BUT the faeces tank had to be emptied at the stable, and to do this a thick concrete slab had to be heaved out of a hole and there was nothing to rinse with either. Playground/surroundings: Quite a nice slide but without a ladder or stairs, so you had to climb up through the mud. Then a great trampoline but without a net. The barefoot path was not fully accessible in April and neither was the labyrinth. In general, there were an unbelievable number of notices, rules and prohibitions. And then the billing! ATTENTION you pay here per day!!! BUT we were explicitly told to be gone by 12 noon. BUT you pay for the whole day. 21 EURO cheek! We will not be back! And would definitely not recommend it!Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Matthias K.April 2013Once you get used to the somewhat "gnarled" manner of farmer Geiß, the warmth comes to the fore. The Höhenhof offers many opportunities for children. A soccer pitch, cable car, a huge meadow, a beautiful play barn, goats, chickens, rabbits, horses etc. With a very nice panoramic view you can also stay... longer, we liked to use a barbecue hut with a roof because it only rained for 48 hours. Points are deducted for the very small caravan pitches (3 in total). I had specified the length of my caravan when I made the reservation (9.20m) but unfortunately it only just fitted across. The sanitary facilities are OK, but nothing more. Despite the bad weather, there were lots of other children in the associated vacation apartments.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Thomas S.September 2012Very quiet spot, none of the 3 pitches is close to 80 m². Substructure material required as otherwise the supports would be too short for a 5m Wowa. Far from a farm, once upon a time would be a better description. There is a domestic pig, a few goats, chickens and rabbits as well as some kittens that... can be petted and fed. We also managed to rent a pony once in 4 days to be able to go pony riding for 1 hour. Saturday morning a SEGway troop was on site to gain initial experience on the site and then start a day tour from there. As far as rest and play opportunities are concerned, TOP has a play barn and a small fleet of vehicles for children up to 6. Older kids quickly get bored. Food is available in the morning from the bread van (except Sunday), otherwise you have to go into town without a car. Conclusion: a long weekend with children under 8 years top otherwise so-so.Käännetty automaattisesti.
- Walter L.July 2011the pitches for caravans are by no means 80-100sqm: we have a caravan of 5.40m the car past just so next to it (together 8m) depth of the place 5.0m according to our calculation 40sqm.by an accident of my wife we had to leave on the day of arrival.we still had to pay the full rent of 260.00 euros for 13 days! we can not rate the Höhenhof better!Käännetty automaattisesti.
