Great place between two lakes and a very nice owner. Mini store with bread rolls (note: sold out very quickly and pre-ordering not possible). Town approx. 1 km away, but... relatively modest (1 good bakery - which also supplies the campsite), 1 supermarket - that's it ...
all Michel and Bullerbü sights within easy reach (we did this with e-bikes). with children better by car (because of cycling on busy roads)

Small store, otherwise supermarket 2.5 km further on in the village.NegatiivisetIf the pitch is full, you have to walk between the caravans to get to the sanitary facilities. It's not dramatic, but somehow it feels like you're running through someone else's living room.Beautiful campsite with nature all aroundHiking trails in the immediate vicinity. Beach right next door. The restaurant and mini golf course were closed during our stay. The filming locations of The Children of Bullerbü or Michel from Lönneberga can be reached by bike. Many of Michel's scenes were filmed in Mariannelund. There are boards with... explanations in front of the filming locations, e.g. opposite ICA at the school. You can fish very well at Assjön. The lake is opposite the Filmby.
Sanitary facilities were cleaned once a day. Showers cost 2 crowns per minute.

Lots of hiking trails and for those who want to go out into the woods and train their dogs, there is good access to trails and other dog activities. Lots around it!We spent 3 days here and have fond memories of this campsite. The site was in excellent condition and contact with the owner was very friendly! Swimming, cycling, canoeing and hiking are great here. "There is also an Astrid Lindgren museum next door, but we didn't visit it. The site is perhaps suitable... if you want to go to Vimmerby to the Lindgren Park. Nearby is the Norra Kvil National Park, which was also a nice day trip for us. Unfortunately, you are allocated pitches and therefore have no influence on them. We were lucky and got a pitch by the lake. The staff were friendly, the owner - more of a curmudgeon - was also friendlier after a bit of a wait. He showed us the site personally and made it very clear how far our plot goes... Adjacent to a perfect swimming lake with a diving tower and large green area with space for play. Many nice walking trails near the campsite. Every conceivable loophole is exploited.Definitely not our caseWe booked the pitch in advance for a week and paid a deposit. On arrival the note said period - 2 days. Booking compared - everything was fine. However, we were allocated a pitch that was really only suitable for two days! All the campers on the lake side traipse through our measly pitch, which is riddled... with roots, to the toilet, shower, to wash up and wherever else, other people's children don't even look at the pitch and run under the awning - that's obvious, because earlier it was the passage to the toilet! Zero privacy plus a great view of the garbage containers - if you sit at the window while eating, you can see and hear the bell ringers as they dispose of the garbage. We asked if it would be possible to get another pitch, we don't want to be on a lake, just in peace and with a little more privacy, we hoped they had made a mistake with the allocation, as the period was not correct, he was only shown the plan and told - fully booked. Next bitter surprise - 1min shower costs 2 SEK. To get to the toilet/shower you need a card. The number of toilets is a joke! With the amount of people! First time as a camper having to stand in line! The same when washing up! Really a bitter disappointment... a week of frustration instead of enjoying Sweden... At that time, the site was only occupied by 6 campers and was therefore idyllically quiet. The location directly on 2 bathing lakes and in the forest is fantastic. The pitch is not too big, but the pitches are. Everything was very well maintained. There are both shady and sunny pitches, all of which have electricity as far as I could see. Of course we loved the many leisure activities in the area, such as hiking, Astrid Lindgren's World, the filming locations of Michel from Lönneberga and Bullerbü, moose safari, nature reserves,... to name but a few. Friendliness and helpfulness are very important here. The pitches are generously sized and the sanitary facilities are relatively new and were always clean. There were electricity columns directly at the pitch, but water was only available at the sanitary building. We had a good night's sleep, which is important to us. There is a playground on the site, but it is more interesting for younger children, at least our children (aged 8 and 11) didn't find it interesting. On the other hand, we liked the bathing lake with a small beach and diving platform. In addition to a small basic supply, you can get fresh bread rolls in the kiosk in the morning. There is an ICA supermarket in the center of Mariannelund, about 3 km away. Our pitch was very spacious and had a view of the lake. There are fresh bread rolls in the morning, no baked goods. There is a lot to do in the area. The restaurant is not bad at all, with a small menu and home cooking. What we didn't like at all was the number of sanitary... facilities. There is also no privacy when washing. The washbasins are close together, no possibility to hang up your things. You can't put your bag upstairs either, as everything was wet. We usually washed in the WW. Showering was fine though. What is also not good is the water supply. You can only get it at the sanitary building. However, this seems to be standard in Sweden. The playground is more for small children. My children, 7 and 10, found the playground boring. The beach with diving platform was great. There is a small reception with a few basic necessities. There are fresh bread rolls there every morning, but they cost 1 euro each, you can't order any in advance and there is a big rush from 8.30 and if... you arrive a little later they are sold out. There is a small playground. The beautiful beach with swimming island and small diving platform is a 2-minute walk away, where there is also minigolf and a small restaurant. From the campsite you can go for a nice walk with your dog and discover the surrounding lakes. Fishing licenses for the lake are available at reception, where you can also hire a boat. The sanitary facilities are very tight when the site is full. The showers are cramped, you activate the shower time with the card, this is very short, so it happens that you are completely lathered up, the water runs out and you have to get the card first, as there is no shelf in the shower itself. The water splashes up to the door so that everything there gets wet, and if your neighbor starts showering, the water splashes down into your own cubicle. The groundsman keeps a close eye on the correct position and distance of the washing machines, fire safety regulations. Wifi is only available to buy via Telia. There were mainly German families on this pitch. When the site was full, unfortunately all the campers simply walked across the pitches to get to the sanitary facilities. Great is the proximity to many places such as Katthuld and Michel, 1000 year old oak and national park, Mariannelund, Bullerby, Astrid Lindgren world, elk park Virum, that you should definitely have seen.Käännetty automaattisesti.- R.
