- eckhard l.June 2023Dobre straneShort walk to the center.Negativne straneVery noisy street in front of the square.Good location for a visit to AlkmaarFriendly reception. Short-term availability. Pitch with electricity ok.
An excursion to the nearby dunes (for a fee) by bike was easy to reach and ride.
We didn't like Alkmaar that much, so we only stayed one night.Automatski prevedeno. - Ralph S.August 2018Dobre straneNear the cityNegativne straneToo expensiveThe proximity to Alkmaar is turned into moneyThe pitch is actually quite okay and well maintained. The sanitary facilities are a bit cramped, with only hand-washing taps at the sinks. However, as half the pitch is obviously empty even in the high season, this should not be a problem. Maybe it's because the high price of €39,-- Womo/2pers./2dogs... includes all kinds of extras. Hot water shower - even with a fixed temperature - I didn't really want to boil myself, wash up with hot water, fill up with fresh water. I'm surprised that I don't have to pay for every bag of garbage. Is that why I have to pay when I check in? It's really no fun like this.Automatski prevedeno.
- Bernhard Z.July 2018Dobre straneGood location Clean pitches QuietNegativne straneToo few sanitary facilities when fully occupied Price / performanceWell located with little heart and soul of the operatorsThe campsite probably survives because of its good location. Alkmaar is just around the corner and perfectly accessible by bike. Amsterdam was also just over 30 minutes away by train. The beach can be reached by bike to Bergen. This was also easy to do with our 6-year-old daughter. The site itself is... clean and has some pleasant pitches, even for large caravans. Apart from that, there isn't really much else on the site. The playground no longer deserves its name. The sanitary facilities are good as long as the site is only about 40% full, otherwise definitely too small / too few. Unfortunately, the operators are not exactly innovative or "flashes", so the neon tubes would normally be replaced and not simply dismantled. It would be nice to have some light in the toilets in the evening. We also expect the hot water to work everywhere if we have to pay for it. It's actually a shame for a site in a good location that the operators don't put a little more heart and soul into it. Basically in a quiet location and good for trips to Alkmaar & Amsterdam but unfortunately at a poor price-performance ratio.Automatski prevedeno.
- Andreas J.June 2018Conditionally recommendedThe Prinzig site consists of three areas. One part, which is mainly used for caravans, one part, completely paved with grass pavers for motorhomes with somewhat smaller and therefore cheaper pitches and a brand new part, which is known as the "Camper Park". The pitches there are very large and separated... by hedges. However, as the hedges have only recently been planted, the "separating effect" is rather manageable. All pitches have an electricity connection. However, there are still no water connections on the new part. The site is really well maintained. As far as these points are concerned, the pitch easily deserves its five stars. However, you really have to make concessions when it comes to the sanitary facilities. There is only one sanitary building for the entire site. The number of showers and toilets could become a problem when the site is full. It is also quite a long way from the camper park to the sanitary building. The toilets are outside. This can be a refreshing experience in the cooler months of the year. There is no spatial separation between the men's and women's toilets. There is also no hand dryer at the washbasin. It is not unusual in Holland for showers to cost 50 cents and water for washing up to cost 20 cents. But then there should be hot water at all times, which unfortunately wasn't always the case. What I found most annoying was that the shower drains didn't work properly. If there's one thing I hate, it's having the dirty shower water from the person next to me wafting around my slippers. It's a real shame that the campsite is so careless when it comes to the sanitary facilities. Otherwise, this would be a very nice facility that could really be made into something more.Automatski prevedeno.
- Klaus N.September 2017Dobre straneThe site is close to the city of Alkmaar. To the North Sea about 8km by bike to Bergen and Bergen aan Zee.Negativne straneOverpriced place (25, - EUR parking space, 2 per. / electricity) Cold toilets because can only be used from the outside.Very close to the city, road traffic unmistakableWe were allocated a parking space for our WOMO. Cramped pitches, hardly any boundaries with hedges or bushes. Entrance area does not make the nicest impression. Wash house inside clean. Outside toilets cold and unclean. Fees for showers and hot water even for washing dishes.Automatski prevedeno.
- Friedhelm S.June 2017Great quiet location, but too expensiveNice place, in a quiet location. The price-performance ratio does not fit, the comfort pitch costs 28 Eur, showers cost 50 cents (5 minutes), hot water for washing up 20 cents (that's already antiquated), and if you want to have W-lan, there are another 3 euros per day. The pitch itself is average in size at around 80 m2.Automatski prevedeno.
- Silke S.May 2017Dobre straneQuiet and parceled outVery nice placeWe liked the peace and quiet and the good sized pitches! The distance to Alkmaar is easy to manage by bike.Automatski prevedeno.
- Robert M.May 2017Dobre straneProximity to AlkmaarNegativne straneMotorhomes get a lousy parking space despite early reservation; unfriendly operator, far too expensive for what is on offerExperience with motorhomeWe booked a pitch at Camping Alkmaar at the beginning of February for the end of May. When we arrived, instead of the expected pitch in the green according to this directory, we were directed to a kind of parking lot where the motorhomes stood close together - no question of privacy. In addition, our... allocated pitch no. 9 was already occupied; pitch no. 8 next to it was empty. We explained to the usher that we had imagined things differently. As a compromise, we then suggested a free space at the edge of this "parking lot". He promised to sort it out. Another gentleman appeared in his place. With unbelievable arrogance, he explained that he was the boss here and that if we didn't like the allocated pitch 8, we should leave immediately. Nota bene: the pitch cost 30 euros, the shower, hot water for washing up and water for the camper van cost extra (contrary to the brief description here). Conclusion: the published photos may reflect the situation for tents and caravans, but the situation is completely different for motorhomes. Addendum: It may be that there are motorhome owners who like this type of wall-to-wall camping (so-called motorhome harbors). But there are also those who want a nice pitch with some privacy. When making a reservation, you should at least be told what to expect.Automatski prevedeno.
- Astrid H.June 2015Dobre strane- Location on the outskirts of Alkmaar and yet reasonably quiet - good starting point for short and long bike tours - well-kept groundsNegativne strane- Outdoor toiletsnice little campsite on the outskirts of AlkmaarThe campsite is located on the outskirts of Alkmaar on the road to Bergen (and Bergen aan Zee). The well-kept site is surrounded by polder ditches and overgrown with trees and shrubs. Although you can hear the road noise, we didn't find it disturbing. The sanitary building is relatively new. The shower... and washroom were clean and well maintained. Showers cost €0.50, hot water for washing dishes €0.20. The toilet cubicles are on the outside of the sanitary building, so apparently they are not heated. The toilets were mostly clean. There is a bread roll service on site (we didn't make use of it), otherwise you obviously can't buy food etc. directly on site (but that didn't bother us - we don't have a supermarket in the front garden at home either ;)). The city center of Alkmaar is easy to reach by bike. It is about 5 km to Bergen (by bike) and about 8 km to Bergen aan Zee. We were given information and maps of the routes into the city center etc. as soon as we arrived at the campsite - very nice! If the opportunity arises, we will gladly come back.Automatski prevedeno.
- Herb D.August 2014Dobre straneCheese marketNegativne straneExtra costs for shower high priceIdeal for Friday cheese marketOn Thursday, hordes of campervans arrive and find a pitch on a meadow (37€ 2E.+2Ki, high season, too expensive). On Friday, everyone is at the cheese market and then moves on. Bread rolls were available at reception. I didn't find any other facilities. Shower costs extra. Apart from that, the two site managers seemed a bit annoyed.Automatski prevedeno.
- Jürgen M.June 2014Dobre straneConveniently located (10 min by bike to the old town) bus stop directly in front of the square; All cheese (market)Campsite very well suited to visit the cheese market and the old town of Alkmaar on Fridays! Quiet place nicely laid out for motorhomes extra harbor within the square;Automatski prevedeno.
- Roland L.May 2014All cheese or what?On the contrary: a very nice little campsite. Clean sanitary facilities and sufficiently large pitches. Friendly groundsman. With ACSI 16.-€. Long way to the city center. Beautiful old town with canals, bridges, cheese museum and cheese market. You can try cheese everywhere and then buy the one you like best.Automatski prevedeno.

- Anita & Hans M.May 2013Camping Alkmaar - very nice, quiet and an ideal starting point for various tours, whether by bike or on foot. The little town of Alkmaar is simply worth seeing, highly recommended. We want to come again!Automatski prevedeno.
- Peter-Jürgen P.April 2012Well-kept pitch on the outskirts of the village. Sockets only max. 850 watts. The fuse comes on after the coffee machine. Showers ok, but toilets only accessible from outside, i.e. nature begins in front of the toilet door. Sensitive women can quickly catch a cold. Actually an imposition. No bread rolls, no newspapers, no kiosk, nothing.Automatski prevedeno.
- Martin J.May 2011This campsite is close to the centre, in a nice green environment. Newly renovated sanitary facilities, landscaped area for tents. The only problem was a bit with communication, the owners did not speak English.Automatski prevedeno.
- Erich C.April 2010Campsite is well situated as a starting point for cycle tours to Alkmaar and Bergen. No satellite reception possible due to tall trees. New sanitary building.Automatski prevedeno.
