Both the friendliness of the staff and the layout of the campsite played a big part in us having a very nice time there. The three thousand meter peaks of the Texel Group "on the doorstep" completed the positive overall impression.... From the campsite you can go on beautiful mountain hikes. There is a bus stop right next to the campsite, making it easy to reach the surrounding villages.
The campsite offers a bread roll service. Unfortunately there is only one restaurant within walking distance (Kresspichlguet), but we had two good regional meals there.
The sanitary facilities were spacious and very clean.

Bus stops right next to the campground.Negativne straneNo cons.Surprising campsite in beautiful locationSince we had nothing booked for the last days of our vacation and were told at many campsites that they were full, we were very happy to be able to stay at Bergkristall. It was a bit of a drive, almost to the end of the valley, but then there was Bergkristall. Although the campground actually consists... of two large parking lots, it has everything you need: fantastically beautiful location in the mountains, lots of hiking opportunities, beautiful new and spotlessly clean sanitary facilities, very friendly manager, tasty sandwiches for breakfast, a restaurant with a view 100m away and public transportation right outside the door. For us an unexpected gem (or: mountain crystal?) where we ended up staying 5 instead of 2 days with our children 8 and 10 years old.Automatski prevedeno.- Martina I.travanj 2023Dobre straneLocation, peace, natureNegativne strane-Far away from the hustle and bustleThe small campsite is located directly on the road to Pfelders, but as Pfelders is the head of the valley, there is hardly any traffic. The pitches are spacious, the sanitary facilities are new and clean. The operator is super nice and a good selection of baked goods can be pre-ordered for breakfast.... Older children may soon get bored, but younger ones will enjoy using the stream running directly by the campsite as a playground.

The grounds are nicely laid out and well maintained (e.g. the forest path).
The pizza and bread delivery service on site is excellent.
Finally, we would like to mention the helpful and extremely friendly operators, who leave nothing to be desired.

Wonderful to slow down. When you arrive back here in the valley, you think the world has come to an end, surrounded by high mountains and fresh mountain air. The campsite is pleasantly small and you receive a very warm welcome from the campsite operators.... We were given lots of good tips for hikes and places to stop for refreshments (the Kresspichlguet is particularly good) in the surrounding area. It was our first time on gravel with our camper and we were skeptical, but were very pleasantly surprised: pleasant to walk on and everything was clean in the camper as well as in the rooms. The sanitary facilities are very nice and always spotlessly clean. The great panoramic terraces invite you to have a snack. Even though the site is on the road, it is very quiet here. You can order bread rolls for breakfast with a great selection. The bus connection is good, the bus stop is right in front of the square. If you miss the bus, the manager is happy to help you personally. Many thanks at this point to the boss Luis👍. Our two boys and also our dog felt very comfortable here. Absolutely quiet and relaxing, bread roll service, 2 nice restaurants in the immediate vicinity and great sanitary facilities. Even though we never normally use them, we couldn't help ourselves... on this pitch and were also users of this really successful, clean facility. In every respect a site with potential for repeat visits. We will be back soon, we just have to fit winter tires first :). Although it is located directly on the road, there was hardly any traffic on it during our stay. If you don't want to wait for the bus, which runs every hour, you can walk to... Pfelders in 30 minutes. From there you have hiking options of all lengths and levels of difficulty. Right next door there is a restaurant serving hot food all day and a farm store. We always found the sanitary facilities to be very clean and well maintained. Fortunately, the site lighting has been designed so discreetly that the view of the starry sky is not impaired.Automatski prevedeno.

Uwe M.rujan 2018Dobre strane- The best sanitary facilities we have ever had - Super friendly and helpful operators - Brilliant locationNegativne straneabsolutely none!!!Small but nice - absolute top placeWe were there for two nights, actually just passing through, but the surroundings here and the place were too breathtaking to leave the very next day. The approach is a bit of a hassle, as it goes uphill via hairpin bends. However, the road is newly made and therefore easy to drive. The reception was... not manned when we arrived, but there was a telephone number to call. We were told (in German) that we could choose a pitch and the operator would come later to check in. When the operator arrived, we were greeted in a very friendly manner. Bread roll service was offered. Otherwise you have to drive to the next village to do your shopping (approx. 15 min). You can eat on foot right next to the campsite. There are two huts that serve food. One also has a small farm store. The pitches are generously sized. The entire pitch is gravel, which is a good thing because you don't get as much dirt in the caravan to hammer in pegs, but not ideal. It is therefore also not ideal for tents. The electricity pillar (four spaces on one pillar) also has connections for satellite TV. If you have your own dish on the roof, you get very good reception here and don't need this service. Wifi is free and the signal is also good in the rear area. As everything is new, there are no trees to provide shade, but the magnificent view is not obstructed ;-) You can see that the site has only been open for a few months. Everything is new and clean. The sanitary facilities are absolute luxury standard (see pictures). The showers and toilet cubicles are generously sized. Great location for hiking or mountain bike tours. As a small highlight, there are two picnic areas slightly elevated on the slope. Absolutely top: We had a medical emergency with our dog. The owner and his daughter immediately phoned for a vet and ordered him to the site!
