We received a warm welcome like nowhere else on our trip... Friendly set up. We were allowed to order bread rolls right away and the nice lady... then briefly explained the way to Volterra on foot.
We were allowed to choose our pitch and stand on it. The pitches are a bit uneven but no problem for us. In the evening we went for a walk to the beautiful church which was so beautifully illuminated with the mystical fog it was really great. We then found a small bar. The sanitary facilities are really a bit outdated (no toilet paper) no problem for us. Showers and washing up were functional. Pool would have been open but we didn't use it. We slept peacefully. The next morning we explored Volterra which is a bit touristy but beautiful. Conclusion Great campsite without a lot of frillsAutomatski prevedeno.

Otherwise it was very quiet.A beautiful place to explore Volterra and San Gimignano.I stayed here for 4 nights in the high season and was satisfied. Beautiful e-bike tours to San Gimignano or Castello Querceto are possible. The pool was unfortunately just tipped over.
Sanitary facilities very old, dirty, not cleaned, didn't like using the toilet or shower. The site is quite natural, so some of the pitches are quite uneven. If you want to stand upright with a camper van, you can use a gravel plateau.
The pitches vary greatly in size and are divided up using ropes....
The small swimming pool is well maintained. Bread rolls can be ordered at the reception.
The sanitary facilities are simple and dated.

It was also nice that there were plenty of shady pitches. The Wi-Fi is included and also had sufficient range.
Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are a bit outdated and could do with an upgrade. You have to bring your own toilet paper and soap for washing your hands.

You can get to the center on foot. The sanitary facilities were perfectly in order during our visit and, above all, clean. The only thing missing was a washing machine. We had plenty of space for our camper van. Bread roll service is available as well as a swimming pool and a small bar. Highly recommended!Automatski prevedeno.

But as soon as you arrive here, you quickly realize that photos don't always reflect reality. The site itself is well located, you can get to the town quickly and the proximity to other towns such as San Gimignano or Siena is also a plus.... Our dog can finally run free here and be a dog again. Nevertheless, we don't stay here for more than a day. The sanitary facilities are an imposition. Apparently nobody cleans here. It smells like rotten eggs, the showers and toilets are almost dark as soon as you close the door, and there are bugs, ants and other creepy-crawlies everywhere in the toilet. So even on a campsite I expect a certain level of cleanliness! Nothing is mentioned on the homepage about the half-hourly and one-hourly church bells and the noise level of the street next door. The pitches are large, level and everything is possible from sun to shade. But cleanliness is something else than wetting the toilet garden hose, ugh. Even if the site is older, cleaning is always... possible. We were there on 19.05.2017 (and only one day, then the stench is enough), should cost a maximum of 15€, because you have to use your own sanitary facilities, definitely not 30€! The staff is very friendly and courteous, but the first positive impression is significantly diminished by the sanitary facilities. They are very old and partly broken. They are also not very clean, which results in an unpleasant smell. Unfortunately, this is a reason for us not to recommend the campsite.Automatski prevedeno.
- Florian K.August 2014Dobre straneProximity to the city, peace and quiet, cleanliness, going out...Negativne stranelong travel times to Florence, Siena, PisaSuper campsiteWe (me and my girlfriend) used the campsite as a starting point for sightseeing in the provinces of Siena, Pisa and Florence, as the site is very centrally located. Unfortunately, it takes quite a long time to get to a faster road where you can go further. Nevertheless, the campsite is really great.... Above all, you have a wonderful view of the old town of Volterra and can easily reach the center (if you walk fast) in a quarter of an hour. There are plenty of places to eat around the campsite. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities is also okay, but could be better (the chemical toilet was quite smelly). Actually a great campsite, the only thing is that the pitches in the main area are not parceled out, so you have to make sure that you find a small free spot to put your tent or caravan. Despite the few drawbacks, I would definitely recommend the site. The price-performance ratio is definitely right :-)Automatski prevedeno.

Pitches on grass are not paved, muddy in the rain and partly sloping. The road is within earshot. Relatively expensive despite some discount in the low season.Automatski prevedeno.

You can easily walk to the center of Volterra and just outside the campground a nice walk along the Etruscan walls. - Siegfried W.May 2012Very beautiful, quiet site on the outskirts of Volterra. Fantastic countryside views in the immediate vicinity. You can visit Volterra on foot from the campsite. There is a supermarket within walking distance, as well as restaurants in every price range. The sanitary facilities are clean, tidy and built in a Mediterranean style.
